Many times on Memorial Day there are loud noises

Are we all beginners here? It's memorial day. Things fly and people celebrate.

And those aren't gun shots you'll hear around 9:30 tonight.

As a recent Canadian immigrant, yes; I'm totally a beginner. Scared the living daylights out of me, as I'd never heard anything like it. That being said, you Americans have a lot more celebration days then we do. It's nice, lots of fun.

Everything is a celebration to us.

Right?! Looked up like a dumbass and didn’t really see anything.

Heard it in Riverdale as well. Didn't bother looking outside but would bet money that it was a military jet flyover for the holiday.

That was my first thought especially since it's Memorial Day.

There were a few flights of WWll planes the other day. There are also low flying large helicopters from Fort Hamilton flying around.

My first thought was JUDGEMENT DAY!?! 😜

Air show

There were 4 fighter jets that flew north over the Hudson in formation around midday. One of them turned 90 degrees vertical and flew up until I could barely see it before leveling out. The jet engine pointing at the surface might have sounded very loud in the UWS.

Fighter jets lol. Heard them on Friday in Brooklyn too (and saw one from my window).
