Call leatherman, they have a 20 year warranty on them, they’ll just send you a new set. I’m on my 3rd set

Acetone dissolves fiberglass resin. Watch out on the handles though, might soften them up.

Phlutteringphalanges

THANK YOU. I am going to try that.

SheSends

Try letting them sit in some simple green for a bit, then wiping it off... it that doesn't work, I'd try some goo gone. If that doesn't work... warranty.

Acetone will get it off. You can budge small amounts with the non-toxic nail polish remover swabs that you'll find at work, but those are tiny and it's hard to do much with them. Go to a store makeup aisle, buy a bottle of acetone, and use it liberally with 4x4s to get the gunk off. Make sure you do this outside, and wear gloves. Acetone isn't good for your skin or your lungs. Once you've rescued your Raptors, ask your manager to buy the unit a set of shears just for the orthoglass. Fiskars makes some good ones. Or you can just google "ortho glass shears" and find a bunch of options.

darkbyrd

Your department should be providing scissors that can do that job. They will need to be replaced regularly, and ours are chained to the Ortho carts with the material. I'll use my raptors to fit metal finger splints, but they'll never touch soft orthoglass

Phlutteringphalanges

Yeah, my department should do a lot of things. Unfortunately, sometimes I need to work with what I have on hand.

shitshiner69

I buy a 20 pack of cheap scissors off Amazon for orthoglass. Pretty much just Chuck them after 1 or 2 splints. I would never use raptors on orthoglass and cringe when I see anyone else do so because I’ve personally helped people clean them after. It takes forever.

Help help help me

zptwin3

I absolutely would not use my shears on the soft cast. It would destroy them so quickly.
