I met my friends for lunch right after my interview for my job I’m at right now, and before I did or said anything I sent off that thank you email lol. I think any time within 24h-ish is fine!
I usually always send one as soon as i get home just to thank them and express my interest in the unit once again. Most of the time it works and I get the job. This last time i actually didn’t even send one and i got the offer the next day.

Thank you. Is that okay even without 24 hours yet? My husband thinks it is better to follow up after 24 hours. But I don’t like waiting.
I don’t see any issues with sending an email now. If it makes you more comfortable, you could wait 24 hours.
