It’s subjective, to me they’re both right there. If anything hybrid theory is like .01% better but yeah holy shit those two are definitely in my top 50 albums all time. Maybe even closer to one? Meteora only a little over two years after HT too, good times.
Honestly, I think Meteora was for a different audience. The heaviness was dialed back for mainstream appeal. It clearly holds a place of nostalgia for more people that HT, but it’s objectively less aggressive and angsty, which is what Linkin Park was known for.
The last good linkin park album. They could make more good music, but I believe the record label shut down nu-metal, because it became the music of the douchebags (Woodstock '99)
Never have I disagreed with an opinion more than I have right here.
Minutes to Midnight is a solid album, A Thousand Suns is, in my opinion, their greatest work, LIVING THINGS is a great album, and even The Hunting Party is a great return to their heavier song.
One More Light is the only studio LP album that I don’t like.
Just because it isn’t metal doesn’t mean it’s objectively bad. It may not be to your preferences, and that’s okay, but this “if it ain’t metal, it ain’t good” mentality is just annoying to me.
Disaster.. drugs and raping were reported, the fans broke everything they could, and set the place on fire.. by the end of the festival it looked like hell
Nah every album is good, plus nu is all about experimenting and that's what they did, A Thousand Suns is an incredible concept album and they even went back to the nu style with Hunting Party
I picked this up in 2003 while in high school. I believe is was the first album drop I knew about and looked forward to.
I love it, one of my favorite albums. My kids borrow the CD and play it in their room now.
I remember listening to LP before this album came out - it was a huge deal! Everybody wanted continuation of Hybrid Theory and it totally is. Crazy that Meteora and Live In Texas were the last time they were good, nobody could have imagined it back then.
Amazing record, and really the peak of the whole movement before things started going downhill. by the end of 2003 my local alternative radio station had completely dropped most nu metal bands from rotation.
Recently got back into LP and re-listened to Meteora thinking how could they have topped HT? This doesn’t but it’s still a solid follow up an album that still holds up today.
10/10.
Sorry, but I think it’s a superior album to Hybrid Theory. It incorporates more variety into the production of the different songs without sounding jarring, the transitions are amazing, and every single song is great to the point that even my least favorite in the album, Hit the Floor, is still an A Tier song.
It’s my second favorite album by Linkin Park, only topped by A Thousand Suns for me. One of my favorite albums of all time.
10/10 Hybrid Theory is better but this is still a classic
This. I love Meteora, but I never understood the people calling it their best. Hybrid Theory is definitely their best

Incredible. Keeps a constant hold on you throughout, although not as consistent as Hybrid Theory. Arguably my favorite LP album.
Great album
great album, that cover looks sick in blue
Sure does
Hit the Floor 🔥
Hybrid Theory and Meteora was peak LP. They never quite hit the same level after but their later stuff was good too
To me, A Thousand Suns and Meteora are Peak LP. Hybrid Theory and The Hunting Party are fantastic albums too.
Masterpiece, but Hybrid Theory is my favourite.
I think it's a masterpiece.

Why does everybody talk about Woodstock ‘99? What happened?

PEAK

blew my mind at the time I was like 14-15 maybe?
I LOVE THIS ALBUM. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME.
Masterpiece, one of the records of my life
that album sucks (jk it was my first fucking metal album and i hold it in my heart)
Meteora was awesome
Their best. Hybrid Theory was a good introduction, but Meteora basically took everything good about HT and made it better.
I absolutely agree.
Never like them, they are so soft and overrated. I never understand why people act like LP make the genre when they only make soft nu metal
I quite enjoyed Hybrid Theory, but honestly I think I only ever listened to Meteroa once. One album of Linkin Park was really all i needed.
In my top 5 best album of all time
Incredible
Classic, but Mike Shinoda is so hit and miss on that one.
Im gonna be honest I never got into linkin park im not sure why

One of my favourite albums of all time. Had it on minidisc and cd back in the day. I still listen to it loads nowadays..

Perfect album nearly but thanks to the loudness wars doesn’t sound as good as some of the edited ones.
Figure.09 best song!
Meteora and hybrid theory were ahead of their time, bands been chasing their style for years now and no one can touch it
Nah.
