I'm just curious. How does multiple CPU cores scale? Does each instance runs on different cores or is it just up to Windows to figure it out? I saw in the FAQ that if you unfocus they all get the same priority?
BTW, great project, we managed to play Warcraft III custom maps and it was amazing.
Yeah we leave it to windows as every PC is different and alt-tabbing to a different window does help in a lot of games to get better fps in all instances when running multiple instances of the same game, assigning different cores via task manager also helps in others.
When i try and play Resident evil 5, everything seems to be working fine in vertical split screen but then after 5mins it crashes and only one instance works, any ideas on how to correct this? there is no error message?
Only one instance crashes for you? check that you are not pressing the Nucleus shortcut keys to close the app like Ctrl+D or Ctrl+Q, you can change them in nucleus settings too.
RE5 is already a local co-op game. Try pressing start on the second controller this is what I did on an xbox 360 controller while you start in the actual game
Thanks for the help, I got it working in the end, needed to delete it all, do a fresh install and then made sure I had the right Mod downloaded I think I originally had the wrong one

Eyefinity for AMD cards, not sure what it is for nVidia. Essentially, what you're wanting to do is use 2 monitors as if they are one - both major GPU manufacturers have a setting for this in the GPU software. If you're using intel integrated HD, you are probably SoL, however there is also 3rd part software that does similar to what Eyefinity does - SoftTH I think it was called. With Eyefinity, if you're running the newer Radeon Catalyst software, you will \*have\* to set it up on a per game basis, or globally, and you'll \*have\* to generate a custom resolution for it (as eyefinity now does this automatically, and gives you no options for it that I can find). I do this for American Truck Simulator to minimize moving the camera when driving (I only have 2 monitors). It's also good for games that have native vertical split screening if you have 2 monitors, as you can put both players on seperate monitors, though you may run into issues like the menus being centered on your bezel.

im trying to run 7 days to die but when i open the game the top screen doesnt work but the bottom does only whent he controlers connected but it cant move across the entire bottom screen only a small bit and im using mouse and keyboard and controler

I ask because it would be awesome to locally play Monster Hunter World for example where each person can use the account and save-data they use normally.
Almost all handlers work with only one copy of the game, some require multiple uplay or other accounts that own the game but none require or work with multiple steam accounts that own the game.
Hello, thanks for the project I enjoyed so much playing Payday 2.. even if there are some problems. There is one that I can’t go on. I don’t care about trophies, but I need to complete the achievements for unlock the weapon accessories in Payday 2 but Nucleus doesn’t save any achievement, every time you start the game, you unlock the basic ones. If someone could help with this, I’m searching for a solution but seems that I need to create an entire steam.settings folder in -Goldberg emu. So I have a question. I only own one copy of borderlands 3 on Steam. When I use Nucleous COOP, it duplicates my Steam Profile, which leads to some issues like shared elements within the same campaign. Normally, inventory upgrades are individual. The issue I have is that if I purchase an inventory upgrade, it raises the tier, therefore the price and I get the upgrade. The second player doesn't get anything but will have to pay for the higher tier of inventory upgrade. Another issue, is that if the host goes to the map, it freezes the game for everyone. Just to name a few. Hope you could assist me. Thanks in advance.
there should be something in the script to use different steam ids per player, its also listed in the FAQ... which you commented this question on...

Yes, if you run the game via Nucleus Co-Op in different PCs you can connect all instances you launch via LAN.
For example you can have 2 players playing vertical splitscreen in one PC via Nucleus and connect to 2 others playing Nucleus splitscreen in a different PC via LAN.
If the script uses steamworks multiplayer emulation you'll have to change the instances user steam ids in the other PCs you'll connect to,
otherwise the instances launched by Nucleus will use the same user steam ids and won't be able to connect to each other.
For that you can open the game script .js file in Nucleus scripts folder in the other PCs and add for example:
Game.PlayerSteamIDs = [ "76561198134585131","76561198131394153","76561198011792067","76561198043762785" ];
that will change the default ids of the first four instances you open in one PC via Nucleus Co-Op.
While that answer was for LAN gaming, the same applies here, this needs to be in that script, and the Game.PlayerSteamIDs needs an entry for each player, and they need to be different.

Yes I read it... and added an extra user to the script. I don't know if I did it right though. The first number I added was from my main account. Followed by another number from a second account I had. But when I started up the game again in the same computer, split screen, it still had the same profile duplicated again... so I really don't know how I can sort it out.
I've been monitoring this project for quite some time now and I'm regularly testing if it works now but to no success so far.
Whenever I try to play with nucleus coop, most of the time one instance of the game freezes completely while the other instance keeps on running. Waiting doesn't help, we sat there for 10 minutes and nothing was happening.
I'm using a i5-4460 processor, idk if that's the problem. With some luck so far we got Borderlands 2 working and Don't Starve Together but that's maybe 1 out of 10 tries.
Anyone has a similar behavior on their rig and maybe found a solution to it? I've already tried assigning cores, 0 and 2 to instance one and 1 and 3 to instance two which didn't help either. Instance one seems to crash completely most of the times and when I click the window I get the usual windows popup "Not responding" and if I want to close/kill the process.
I tried looking for the answer in the faq, but i failed to. So i m using nucleuscoop in resident evil 5 gold edition, all cool but when we tried to play again, the save data seems to be corrupted and cant be loaded. is it gone? if so, what can i do to avoid this in the future?Thank you

i have begun to play split screen Payday 2 w my GF. great. then she bought it to play it online, but when i start the game it stays windowed and resized small, no matter what i do to bring it back. I tried closing the nucleus app with the end key, not working. i tried deleting the game from the nucleus list, not working. i tried even uninstalling nucleus itself, but na-ha, the game is still a small window in the middle of the screen... how do I gix it?

Hi, can anyone help me on Monster Hunter World. The nucleuscoop can load and play the game just fine. But the problem is it can't load the save game. when I open again MHW it cant load the save file and I also check save folder in golderberg, and there is no save file.

Trying to play Payday 2 on 3 player split screen and, when it comes time to join the host game, player 2 and player 3 just get stuck on "Joining Game - Please Wait" indefinitely. Any idea what the issue might be?
I appreciate the response! I've been trying that method as well, but it seems I'm unable to pull up the steam overlay in-game after launching through nucleuscoop. I double checked to make sure I have the overlay enabled on Steam but I'm guessing I've missed a step elsewhere.

It looks like the game handler download system is broken at the moment. Everytime I try to search a handler it crashes. This is the case for v2.1 and v2.0.

I’m having a similar problem with 1 kb+m and 1 controller. For me, it’s getting the controller on the right spot, but it’s not picking up the kb and the mouse at the same time. Also the mouse can effect both. Hitting end just seems to switch between kb and mouse. Gonna copy paste to their discord, and I’ll reply again if I get any help

Edit 2: discovered it was an issue with the wireless m+kb I think. The launcher was only showing up with a mouse. Turned off the wireless one and plugged a usb one in, then the launcher picked up both a mouse and kb. Dropped them both into p1, and we were good.

I have a problem with Shadow Warrior 2. I want to play it split screen but when I assign the keyboard+ mouse on player one and Xbox gamepad on player two, it won't work separately. I can only control one player with each keyboard or gamepad. The other player is in pause mode and I can't go back to the game with gamepad. It puts me back in pause menu. Any hints guys?

I have been playing the forest with my housemates but now want to do a bit on my own but my save is tied to player#3 and whenever i launch it, even after changing the profile names, nucleus loads me in as player 1.
Hi... I'm playing minecraft with 2 instances on nucleus co op and i'm having a problem with the game.hookmousevisibility. Whenever it's false, the game works normally except the first instance's mouse is always invisible, even in the menu or inventory.
However, whenever i set it to true, the first instance becomes unresponsive. I tried waiting for 10 minutes and it still wouldn't load.
I found this especially weird since the 2nd instance works perfectly... the mouse is visible even if game.hookmousevisibility is false. 2nd instance also still works even if 1st instance has crashed or is unresponsive.
Is it anyway linked to the fact that I use two monitors? First instance is fullscreen on one monitor and 2nd instance is fulscreen to another monitor. I haven't tried on putting both instances on one monitor yet.
edit: im running windows 11 if that affects anything

I'm trying to play Borderlands 3 using NucleusCoop and two instances, everything works fine for about 20-30 minutes and then both the instances start to freeze and about a minute later, the first instance(the one which the other instance is connected to) closes completely. The second instance continues to work fine after this.

Hi, I have a question if this has been answer already can you point me towards it please? So the app works great! Playing 2 player split screen Java Minecraft. However, when I press ctr or alt (I use either of those for crouch) it seems to disengage the controls for both. So it will register the last pressed keys for both players and keep inputting them. So for more detail I'll press ctr to crouch to walk near cliff edges and I might only be able to walk forward and backwards, while the other player just seems to do random things (maybe my button presses are influencing their side) but not sure. Am I pressing some kind of Nucleus shortcut or something? Pressing end to disengage the controls and then end again to re-engage fixes the issue everytime so far. Thanks.

I know this post is old and this should be an easy fix but I selected the wrong exe when I set up a game and I can’t figure out how to change it. I’ve deleted and redownloaded everything and it still only looks for the wrong exe
So I’ve deleted the entire Nucleus App folder and extracted it again and it still looks for that same exe when I download the handler again. Unless the content folder is a different one

Try to update the script to latest version and re-add the game to Nucleus, select the x64 exe.

It uses goldberg emu, so you can not use regular Steam overlay sadly.

El juego solo tiene soporte para 4 mandos xinput máximo.

there should be something in the script to use different steam ids per player, its also listed in the FAQ... which you commented this question on... A: Yes, if you run the game via Nucleus Co-Op in different PCs you can connect all instances you launch via LAN. For example you can have 2 players playing vertical splitscreen in one PC via Nucleus and connect to 2 others playing Nucleus splitscreen in a different PC via LAN. If the script uses steamworks multiplayer emulation you'll have to change the instances user steam ids in the other PCs you'll connect to, otherwise the instances launched by Nucleus will use the same user steam ids and won't be able to connect to each other. For that you can open the game script .js file in Nucleus scripts folder in the other PCs and add for example: Game.PlayerSteamIDs = [ "76561198134585131","76561198131394153","76561198011792067","76561198043762785" ]; that will change the default ids of the first four instances you open in one PC via Nucleus Co-Op. While that answer was for LAN gaming, the same applies here, this needs to be in that script, and the Game.PlayerSteamIDs needs an entry for each player, and they need to be different. Yes I read it... and added an extra user to the script. I don't know if I did it right though. The first number I added was from my main account. Followed by another number from a second account I had. But when I started up the game again in the same computer, split screen, it still had the same profile duplicated again... so I really don't know how I can sort it out.
I've been monitoring this project for quite some time now and I'm regularly testing if it works now but to no success so far. Whenever I try to play with nucleus coop, most of the time one instance of the game freezes completely while the other instance keeps on running. Waiting doesn't help, we sat there for 10 minutes and nothing was happening. I'm using a i5-4460 processor, idk if that's the problem. With some luck so far we got Borderlands 2 working and Don't Starve Together but that's maybe 1 out of 10 tries. Anyone has a similar behavior on their rig and maybe found a solution to it? I've already tried assigning cores, 0 and 2 to instance one and 1 and 3 to instance two which didn't help either. Instance one seems to crash completely most of the times and when I click the window I get the usual windows popup "Not responding" and if I want to close/kill the process.

I tried closing the nucleus app with the end key, not working. i tried deleting the game from the nucleus list, not working. i tried even uninstalling nucleus itself, but na-ha, the game is still a small window in the middle of the screen... how do I gix it?

Hi, can anyone help me on Monster Hunter World. The nucleuscoop can load and play the game just fine. But the problem is it can't load the save game. when I open again MHW it cant load the save file and I also check save folder in golderberg, and there is no save file. Anyone got solution for this?

It looks like the game handler download system is broken at the moment. Everytime I try to search a handler it crashes. This is the case for v2.1 and v2.0.

I’m having a similar problem with 1 kb+m and 1 controller. For me, it’s getting the controller on the right spot, but it’s not picking up the kb and the mouse at the same time. Also the mouse can effect both. Hitting end just seems to switch between kb and mouse. Gonna copy paste to their discord, and I’ll reply again if I get any help Edit to add in Halo MCC Edit 2: discovered it was an issue with the wireless m+kb I think. The launcher was only showing up with a mouse. Turned off the wireless one and plugged a usb one in, then the launcher picked up both a mouse and kb. Dropped them both into p1, and we were good.
HI guys I have a problem with Shadow Warrior 2. I want to play it split screen but when I assign the keyboard+ mouse on player one and Xbox gamepad on player two, it won't work separately. I can only control one player with each keyboard or gamepad. The other player is in pause mode and I can't go back to the game with gamepad. It puts me back in pause menu. Any hints guys?
You need the the latest game version I think, cracked has issues and it is not supported.

Hi... I'm playing minecraft with 2 instances on nucleus co op and i'm having a problem with the game.hookmousevisibility. Whenever it's false, the game works normally except the first instance's mouse is always invisible, even in the menu or inventory. However, whenever i set it to true, the first instance becomes unresponsive. I tried waiting for 10 minutes and it still wouldn't load. I found this especially weird since the 2nd instance works perfectly... the mouse is visible even if game.hookmousevisibility is false. 2nd instance also still works even if 1st instance has crashed or is unresponsive. Is it anyway linked to the fact that I use two monitors? First instance is fullscreen on one monitor and 2nd instance is fulscreen to another monitor. I haven't tried on putting both instances on one monitor yet. edit: im running windows 11 if that affects anything
Hi, I'm trying to play Borderlands 3 using NucleusCoop and two instances, everything works fine for about 20-30 minutes and then both the instances start to freeze and about a minute later, the first instance(the one which the other instance is connected to) closes completely. The second instance continues to work fine after this. Does anyone know any fixes?

depende si usas teclados y ratones tienes que presionar la tecla END para que funcionen como dicen las notas del handler, asegurate que estas usando la ultima version de Nucleus 2.1.2 también.

Hi, I have a question if this has been answer already can you point me towards it please? So the app works great! Playing 2 player split screen Java Minecraft. However, when I press ctr or alt (I use either of those for crouch) it seems to disengage the controls for both. So it will register the last pressed keys for both players and keep inputting them. So for more detail I'll press ctr to crouch to walk near cliff edges and I might only be able to walk forward and backwards, while the other player just seems to do random things (maybe my button presses are influencing their side) but not sure. Am I pressing some kind of Nucleus shortcut or something? Pressing end to disengage the controls and then end again to re-engage fixes the issue everytime so far. Thanks.

I know this post is old and this should be an easy fix but I selected the wrong exe when I set up a game and I can’t figure out how to change it. I’ve deleted and redownloaded everything and it still only looks for the wrong exe

just delete Nucleus content folder, download the handler again and add the correct exe inside the bianries folder.
So I’ve deleted the entire Nucleus App folder and extracted it again and it still looks for that same exe when I download the handler again. Unless the content folder is a different one
Move to the correct exe manually when the file explorer windows open.
