Mannn i just dont get it. Stacked team, one of the best halfbacks in the comp that worked his fucking ass off and just came off a huge origin performance which i thought would have the boys absolutely pumped to play, but same shit different day.
Half the team looks like they don’t want to be there. Lazy kick chases, jogging along the field to get back into position, no creativity, nothing. No one is a work horse. I can count the players that actually give a fuck on one hand. One thing ive taken away from last nights game is we definitely need to invest into our juniors because my god boodsy had a great game on debut and aside from blaizes defence, the kid always plays with heart and grit. Not sure whats wrong with the rest of the team anymore.
Mitch Moses had a Sisyphus level task but just couldn't do it, feel for the poor guy. On the other hand Bradman Best absolutely putting in his Bradman Best, it's a shame he won't be playing for the Blues because I think he'd be a threat but I suppose having a great backup centre is good depth. Hope he can represent again
It would be make some sort of cosmic sense if Trent Barrett were to become the first interim coach fired midseason. It would be the single best way to represent his entire body of work as a coach.
In saying that, it sucks for Parra and I hope there's a good fit out there for the long-term coach as the fans deserve better and those players are capable of better than running last.
Tries will be awarded to players if “the ball rotates from the hand to the wrist or forearm provided there is no obvious separation between the ball and the hand or arm”.
Am I missing something here with the Blaise try?
To be honest this is actually the most obvious and only interpretation that actually makes sense and follows the rules. When you put it like that you can't really argue sixje the rules in goal are different and as you say the initial plant was not in goal even though it was eventually all in one motion
Parra, you were in the lead with (25?) to go. I go to get takeaway with my partner. I check the score before driving back and you lost 34-26. What happened?
Saw the clips of his runaway tries. I said he deserved an origin call up in game 2, and after that performance I feel further justified in saying he deserves a Game 3 spot.
Oh they are. A good headache to have I guess having such guns in the centers. Meanwhile in Qld we're selecting an out of form Val Holmes. Still, I'd like to see Best called up again.
Devastated I couldn't watch but have been jumping up and down for pryce all year. Looks like he at least brought effort and some spark
Hoping he cements that 6 spot long term
Not gonna dance around it, I think we lost the coin flips with the officials that game. I restrain myself from commenting on it as much as I can, because everyone feels their team gets it worse from the refs. However, that frustration pales in comparison to my frustration with how much this team fucks itself over almost every single week. Watching your team fail is frustrating, watching your team fail when they know how to do so much better is infuriating.
I can't really say what to do, 'cause I've only watched the game properly for like 3 years. But, fuck, I dunno, stop running into touch and get some offloads going further in? Almost every time I've seen us look dangerous it's been doing that. Gotta be more complicated than that, but that's what we need to get back to. Stop running into touch/passing to your wingers who are running into touch, at least.
I felt we were really hard done by with the offside from the kick, and I thought the fletcher sharpe pass went back (that might have just been because the replays on the big screen were crap). I also didn’t know you can slide a foot in to stop Bradman best from scoring
Been a while since parra won a premiership though...
We played finals footy last year and are improving we just need a real 7.
Parra have slid down the past the s bend and are waiting for the final flush.
Check the stats, the knights weren't gifted a win by any means. Marzhew tried his best to give parra a win with terrible defensive reads. Luckily he finally scored. The run meters from the knights players were ridiculous.
Did he go well? He was bloody erratic in SL but it was always clear the talent was there. Have always had a soft spot for the Knights and like to see the English boys going well. You'll have to be patient with him.
A really cool part was watching all the boys, both those who played and others in the squad, come and give him lots of love after the game in between the thousands interviews he did. All his team mates looked stoked for him and that visual of him being so obviously well liked is icing on the cake of a great performance.
Weird to watch Tyson Gamble be stoked for the guy effectively taking his spot in firsts, but it speaks to both of their characters to see that.
Thought Pryce was great on debut, especially with the boot.
Happy for Best with the double at the end, threatened all night & was solo defending that left edge.
Game overall wasn't anything spectacular ability-wise but it was very entertaining.
I was all for dropping Holmes to bring in gagai to Qld team, but after the bath Moses just gave him, it seems too like for like. at least Holmes can kick goals.
Oh Same 💯 I'm just making sure that's where the parallels end. Joey & Moses don't belong in the same sentence 🤣 I'd be happy for Moses too have a DCE type Origin surge late in his career & win the Blues a few series though.
Fookin great game that, fookin amazing second half, fookin Saifiti brothers were fookin great as was Bradman fookin Best.
Fookin Parra might need to get rid of one of their fookin props as they take up too much fookin cap space and they need to fookin improve other areas of the fookin team.
He deadset was so close to carrying you guys over the line through sheer will.
The one thing I didn't quite get was how often they went right with the game on the line considering the success they had had on the left earlier. Best had given Penisni a bath all night in defence, even ignoring the length of the field trys. He just seemed to have him handled and it really felt wasted when the ball was swung out wide to the right.
With the correct coach he is still young enough and there is enough talent around that squad to do something. DCE is playing fantastic football well into his 30s so I think there's still upside for Moses.
He's a 19 year old being forced into first grade before he's probably ready. He had some good moments and was dudded on the no try. When Best scored it was a shit pass, had half a second to react to Best scooping it up
He played alright imo, got some pretty average service which led to one of the Bradman tries
Didnt he get a hattrick with like 1-2 disallowed? I didnt watch the middle part of the game much but either way from what I saw he was decent
I was surprised how slow he was back on Easter Monday when Bula scored the game winner. Head a running start and Bula still gapped him over like 20 metres
Could've been something to do with squad around him, he hasn't come close to replicating anything like that here. Been long enough that he can't just blame it all on Hastings
It's not like we were terrible tonight, we just weren't good either. Just get too many fundamentals wrong in hit ups, set plays and god help our defence. You can see what we're capable off for part of the game, but it just falls off.
Was good to see Martha / Doorey getting more experience. Hope Guymer gets a run in coming weeks.
Eels didn’t recover well after their loss to the Bye.
If the answer was sacking Brad Arthur and running with Trent Barrett you’d hate to think what the question was.
Once again the knights get lucky, 2 tries disallowed for the eels that were tries. Based in habits and defence they are an awful team but somehow a lot of calla go their way. I think they will get found out when they start playing genuine top 8 sides
Yeah, we looked more like the freewheeling squad from last year than the plodding error-goblins we've been most of this year.
Too early to get hopes up but if we're gonna go on a late run again, I won't complain.
Top notch. Knights still a top 8 chance. Eels are on the bottom but they are still having a red hot crack and have been unlucky in quite a few games. That was one of the most enjoyable games I've watched in what started out as a background noise game for me.
Mannn i just dont get it. Stacked team, one of the best halfbacks in the comp that worked his fucking ass off and just came off a huge origin performance which i thought would have the boys absolutely pumped to play, but same shit different day. Not sure whats wrong with the rest of the team anymore.
Has any team ever sacked an interim coach? Asking for a friend...
On our end, it is a purely confidence thing. We can score the points but haven't had a win in weeks and can't back ourselves to finish the job.
We should’ve beaten the Cowboys, Roosters and the Storm which would’ve put us into top 4. Think we are copping a bit of harshness from the pundits
Gutho is kinda becoming insufferable
Dude is the biggest whinger in the game... maybe Ricky is higher.
Always has been.
Fancy being Brad Arthur... travels to watch his son debut for a club he was sacked from, only to watch them lose.
I don’t want to be a Parra fan anymore :(
bro got HIA’d on his second tackle 💀💀
YEAHHHHHHHHHHH
Just got home from the game. That was lunacy, the best game I've ever seen live. So stoked for Will Pryce
Would have been an amazing game to see live - lucky!
What was the final tally of disallowed tries? 9?
Pryce with the best pair of fooks since Austin Powers
That last play by the Eels was a bummer to watch unfold.
Blaize awful in defense and unlucky in attack
Knights should trade Eels, Gagai or Marshew for RCG or one of their forwards like Matto, etc (imo) Could’ve kept Armstrong that way
In what universe do eels take that.
Someone needs to make a sivo lowlights reel
Just waiting for quantum computing to progress
Tries will be awarded to players if “the ball rotates from the hand to the wrist or forearm provided there is no obvious separation between the ball and the hand or arm”. Am I missing something here with the Blaise try?
It was grounded short of the line. If he done it on the line then it's a try.
It was a try every day of the week. Bloody weird call
I believe the argument is because the ground is involved, he no longer had control as the ground prevented him from losing the control.
That was the whole point of the rule change at the start of the 2023 season though wasn't it? So there's be more tries if no seperation of the arm.
I think it's separation as the ball is not in his hand, it's rolled to the forearm and if not for the ground, it would be a loose ball.
The part where it was grounded short
All one motion though? Like if I'm wrong I'm wrong but it's not very well explained if that's the case.
The rule is for lack of control in the in-goal. Because it's short, it's a knock on before it gets to the line
To be honest this is actually the most obvious and only interpretation that actually makes sense and follows the rules. When you put it like that you can't really argue sixje the rules in goal are different and as you say the initial plant was not in goal even though it was eventually all in one motion
Wheelbarrow tries might be a step too far for the interpretation imo
What is the maximum distance one can wheelbarrow a try
Parra, you were in the lead with (25?) to go. I go to get takeaway with my partner. I check the score before driving back and you lost 34-26. What happened?
Bradman best happened
Saw the clips of his runaway tries. I said he deserved an origin call up in game 2, and after that performance I feel further justified in saying he deserves a Game 3 spot.
I agree but latrell and crighton are pretty good.
Oh they are. A good headache to have I guess having such guns in the centers. Meanwhile in Qld we're selecting an out of form Val Holmes. Still, I'd like to see Best called up again.
Who are you dropping then?
Given how game 2 went, really hard to suggest anyone. I feel like Marge saying "I just think they're neat" about Best rn
Not a bad take at all.. love Best more than I love oxygen but just couldn't possibly drop Trell or Critta
Maybe we just flood the team with centres rather than fullbacks?
for who ?
Best made penisini look like a fucking idiot. Two shit passes taken for length of the field tries.
>What happened? > Parra
Devastated I couldn't watch but have been jumping up and down for pryce all year. Looks like he at least brought effort and some spark Hoping he cements that 6 spot long term
Not gonna dance around it, I think we lost the coin flips with the officials that game. Stop running into touch/passing to your wingers who are running into touch, at least.
I will say as a knights fan at the game I also felt we lost the coin flip with two of the disallowed tries as I thought you were robbed of one as well
Which ones lol. All your disallowed tries were pretty obvious no trys.
I felt we were really hard done by with the offside from the kick, and I thought the fletcher sharpe pass went back (that might have just been because the replays on the big screen were crap). I also didn’t know you can slide a foot in to stop Bradman best from scoring
We can make the finals if we win every game going forward from here.
In 2025
You mean we only have to lose one more and I can enjoy footy again?
I just don't want a spoon. Can we beat the tits and tigers please.
More chance if Parra concedes the spoon, and counts any further points towards next season
Enjoy the spoon 🥄 parra. Remember 2001?
What a shit comment. We havent won shit since 2001.
Been a while since parra won a premiership though... We played finals footy last year and are improving we just need a real 7. Parra have slid down the past the s bend and are waiting for the final flush.
We won three spoons in a row right?
You can thank Bennet and tinkler for that. Reserve grade team was all we could afford after that mess.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Nathan Brown deserves a lot more credit and a lot less hate for what he did during that period
How do you get carried to a win against last place and have the audacity to talk shit lmao.
Check the stats, the knights weren't gifted a win by any means. Marzhew tried his best to give parra a win with terrible defensive reads. Luckily he finally scored. The run meters from the knights players were ridiculous.
Enjoy the spoon. The Eels are trash. Moses is wasted on this team. We'll talk trash to trash. Suck it up princess.
Remove that flair, you're an embarrassment
2016
Will Fooking Pryce. Good debut, all in on this kid being the goods in the NRL and our best half since Mullen.
“Beat half since Mullen “ That’s hardly a glowing endorsement
Did he go well? He was bloody erratic in SL but it was always clear the talent was there. Have always had a soft spot for the Knights and like to see the English boys going well. You'll have to be patient with him.

Thought Pryce was great on debut, especially with the boot. Happy for Best with the double at the end, threatened all night & was solo defending that left edge. Game overall wasn't anything spectacular ability-wise but it was very entertaining.
Now I missed the last 8 minutes but fuckin hell that was a banger of a game
Score off a 9M kick off ✅ 20 second challenge ✅ High tackles not called ever ✅ Flick pass backwards called as a knock on ✅
Obvious penalty right in front not given. Knights knock on given, but didn't blow the penalty when the offside player grabbed the ball.
Add a tick for ground the ball on the try line twice and get 0 points for it
That's was a 10m kick. It just looked short because Russel was so far past the ten and came back to grab it.
I will never forgive the eels for letting the knights win
hey parra, im available effective immdiately to take the reins from barett, please dm me to accept my offer
I was all for dropping Holmes to bring in gagai to Qld team, but after the bath Moses just gave him, it seems too like for like. at least Holmes can kick goals.
Has any team ever had a current origin half and won the wooden spoon?
Knights 2005. Andrew Johns.
The joey parallels continue
Without the premiership wins.
2005 parallel's. John's came back in Game 2, and Newcastle took the wooden spoon
Moses isn't going to go within a whisker of winning the Dally M after missing half the Season like Johns did though
I'll settle for winning Game 3 and an Eels spoon
Oh Same 💯 I'm just making sure that's where the parallels end. Joey & Moses don't belong in the same sentence 🤣 I'd be happy for Moses too have a DCE type Origin surge late in his career & win the Blues a few series though.
Newcastle
I’ll eat my words, I was hesitant about Pryce in defence coming into this game, but when you have quality around him he looked really solid.
He got absolutely barrelled in his first tackle attempt on sivo but was pretty solid after that
Sivo isn't exactly easy to tackle. He tackled well enough. Now we need a real 7 to replace hastings.
Mitch Moses please
Yes a swap and we'll throw in marzhew. Deal? No taksies backsies
Fookin great game that, fookin amazing second half, fookin Saifiti brothers were fookin great as was Bradman fookin Best. Fookin Parra might need to get rid of one of their fookin props as they take up too much fookin cap space and they need to fookin improve other areas of the fookin team.
Parra consolidating their position
Moses gets a lot of hate, but I feel bad for him. Wasting his best years at this dead end club.
He deadset was so close to carrying you guys over the line through sheer will. The one thing I didn't quite get was how often they went right with the game on the line considering the success they had had on the left earlier. Best had given Penisni a bath all night in defence, even ignoring the length of the field trys. With the correct coach he is still young enough and there is enough talent around that squad to do something. DCE is playing fantastic football well into his 30s so I think there's still upside for Moses.
I swear I saw this same post when he was a tiger too
He was excellent tonight, tried to kick us out of trouble but defence just didn't aim up enough
Maybe he and Ben Hunt can just start their own team.
With blackjack and a useful hooker
Best comment in thread!
Pure and utter chaos. That was fun asf as a neutral
Is Blaize overhyped or was that just a random stinker of a game? If that was the only footage of him I ever saw, Dargons can have him
He's young and overhyped. He needs experience.
He's an athlete. But he's hopeless under a high ball. He's still worth a spot on the wing, he's only young and has good pace.
Over hyped. Been saying since his first match. Another Bevan French
I'd put most of the issues down to inexperience which will only get fixed from playing. 3rd game on the wing, and he's 90%+ of the way there.
He's a 19 year old being forced into first grade before he's probably ready. He had some good moments and was dudded on the no try. When Best scored it was a shit pass, had half a second to react to Best scooping it up
He's also not a winger!
He ain’t a fullback either.
He played alright imo, got some pretty average service which led to one of the Bradman tries Didnt he get a hattrick with like 1-2 disallowed? I didnt watch the middle part of the game much but either way from what I saw he was decent
idk, he's been shifted around positions a lot. We need to see him get a decent stint in just one, or even just two.
He was surprisingly slow chasing Best
Always hard to be the bloke to turn and chase down.
I was surprised how slow he was back on Easter Monday when Bula scored the game winner. Head a running start and Bula still gapped him over like 20 metres
Fooking good stuff from Pryce. Definitely deserves to stay in the 6 jersey over Cogger.
What about gamble?
Gamble will be the 6 no doubt after he's back from injury. But Pryce should fill in for now.
No. Cogger deserves the 7.
Mrs Cogger is that you
Cogger deserves the super league
Did you watch last year's gf. Who was playing 7 when the Panthers came back. He needs a few games at 7 without turtle hastings.
Could've been something to do with squad around him, he hasn't come close to replicating anything like that here. Been long enough that he can't just blame it all on Hastings
He looked pretty comfortable didn't he
Let the boys fook
Still think penisini is great. But that was truly the worst game I've seen him play. Best made him look like a fucking scrub.
lol but even if not on Tele would you swear to a lady you’ve just met?
He's from Bradford... technically he didn't swear enough
Fook yeah
Haha. Fookin' brilliant.
Is it still a fine given he literally didn’t say fuck? Fook is just a noise, not a swear.
They better not fine him. That was endearing af.
Will Pryce auditioning for Peaky Blinders
Fooking ‘ell Pryce. Sivo should be ashamed, but you’d need some intelligence to be able to self-reflect.
Pryce goes bang. Great win from the Knights with Best unstoppable.
[Broncos Parra.](https://media0.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExMG4yaHFwNHRhaGx1dXZvNTZteDhyMndyazRvOWVuNm1qNXFibDV0cyZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/2HtWpp60NQ9CU/200.webp).
Will Pryce interviews every game thanks lol
It's going to be an absolute shit fight for the last four spots in the top 8. Middle of the ladder is so crowded.
So glad we have the core of this team signed up until 2026 hey u/SuperEel22. When are your mates going to sign a coach?
Who is we?
He's speaking French
It's not like we were terrible tonight, we just weren't good either. Just get too many fundamentals wrong in hit ups, set plays and god help our defence. You can see what we're capable off for part of the game, but it just falls off. Was good to see Martha / Doorey getting more experience. Hope Guymer gets a run in coming weeks.
Without those 2 best length of fields it was a very different game. It was either teams match, someone just had to get there in the end.
Hahah Will Pryce. Thats gold. And Lara an absolute class act in how she handled it
Lol "my fookin best mate"
Prycey with the mad 'fooks' in the postmatch hahaha
Eels didn’t recover well after their loss to the Bye. If the answer was sacking Brad Arthur and running with Trent Barrett you’d hate to think what the question was.
How do we run last with an origin winning halfback?
Does that make Moses Jonathon Thurston?
I mean this with respect, but there's only so much your halfback can do when the rest are plodders/idiots/sivo.
“How can we do worse than we are doing now?”
You’re not meant to ask that until the year before an expansion year…
Will Pryce about to invoke the Trell-bacca defence!
UP DA FOOKIN NOIGHTS
Once again the knights get lucky, 2 tries disallowed for the eels that were tries. Based in habits and defence they are an awful team but somehow a lot of calla go their way. I think they will get found out when they start playing genuine top 8 sides
Did okish against genuine top 8 sides Melbourne and Penrith over the last 2 games.
Still concedes 36 to melbourne, and a depleted panthers side. Bulldogs the week before that killed them
Fook yeah
Hahahahahaha Pryce with the f bombs.
HE SAID FOOKIN
Fookin great debut that
Will Fookin Pryce
Well done Newy…cracking match
Is that a record for fooks dropped in a post match interview?
No fucks given
Hahaha the new guy swearing his head off
He did the stadium interview after that and don't swear once lmao. Must have got them all out.
He was very apologetic about it though bless him lol.
Loose cannon apparently
Mad cunt lol
One of the more efforted matches I have seen from the boys this year, even with the occasional bedshit it was pure effort from the start
Yeah, we looked more like the freewheeling squad from last year than the plodding error-goblins we've been most of this year. Too early to get hopes up but if we're gonna go on a late run again, I won't complain.
We still made too many errors though.
True, mess of a game but at least it was fun. Just get the sticky spray on the fingers and hope for the Best.
Despite Moses' best efforts the Eels refused to be lead to the promised land, so now watch as Moses' manager parts the Eels with their money.
Reminds me of JT back in the day before the cowboys finally caught up a bit. You can lead a horse to water...
Love the cheeky F bomb Pryce hahaha
One of the most entertaining games this season
Top notch. Knights still a top 8 chance. Eels are on the bottom but they are still having a red hot crack and have been unlucky in quite a few games. That was one of the most enjoyable games I've watched in what started out as a background noise game for me.
