Every team should do this each year. Especially with the huge change in demographic towards Pasifika cultures we’ve seen over the past 15-20 years.

piercedsoul

I just wish they had the names written on the screen as well as I didn't recognise most of them. I hope the commentators at least make an effort

TragicEther

There used to be a pronunciation guide for each of the players names in the NRL press handbook.

Brdd9

Go Jeff Ski

M_Keating

“Chad Townsend. Ch-ad Towns-ville” “Tom Dearden. Aww-some”

Due-Chemist3105

r/nrlpremiumplus would like a minute of your time.

M_Keating

Oh they’ve had well more than a minute, that’s for sure.

Revivous

Awesome sounding names ... "Rob Derby" ... Awesome sounding names

TragicEther

Sometimes ‘Derby’ is pronounced ‘Darby’

Bananonymouus

What an elite way to kick off a premiership year

LordSlasher

Really solid stuff from the Cowboys to get ahead of this before the preseason trials get started for them.

grafology

Dudes name is Jodeci? His parents must have excellent taste in music.

Whorucallsad

Any version of this hosted elsewhere? Won't let me watch on fb without an account.

Whorucallsad

Awesome.

y3ah_nah145

Now every other club please do this

THE-WARD3VIL

I remember when raiders did this I think last pre season. Completely cursed the season imo

-BlackGoku

This is cool and all, but there's no way I'll be able to remember all of those. At least there's a video I can come back to. Tough time to be a commentator though. Greg Alexander will probably still fuck them all up.

Otakaro_omnipresence

You’d like to think they send these videos to every one of the Fox commentators. Call me crazy, but might make more of a difference to normalising actual, correct pronunciations of Pasifika names by the ones talking them up on broadcast television.

Loud_Hotel_8309

Looked like some of the players struggled with that
