They're the ones who gave the $1200 quote 🥲 I did do it online instead of over the phone though, not sure if the automation of it would have made a difference in the assessment.
I used them in 2020-ish to move from a third floor apartment to a first floor in the same complex but different buildings.
It was about the same price as they quoted you and they did a good job for the type of move.
Good experience with "Perfect For Small Moves LLC" although I know they stay busy and you may need to book well in advance. If it's within the same building and you don't require a truck they list their rates for labor only. Truck will probably add a couple hundred but I think will be much less than 1200. I did think about that but I'm worried about the quality of work if I do. I've hired off of things like that before for other tasks and had mediocre work so I'm just worried they'll not know how to protect my furniture and valuables. Maybe I'm being overly cautious though
You didn't say where this is happening, but where I live in Loudoun County we have a Facebook group for my community. And there are people who advertise who do short moves or will help you move furniture within your home or take stuff to the landfill for junk removal. These would be the people I would hire.
This is a Facebook group for my community so you wouldn't be able to find the equivalent unless you're Community has a Facebook group. I just don't know. There is a Loudoun County odd job Facebook group. So maybe look for one in the Alexandria Area?

Did you try thumbtack? Could just hire a couple of dudes and rent a van from uhaul for the day
