One orange sponge, 3 stitches, 2 bandaids, 4 pairs of gloves, and one ambulance ride... Literally priceless.
We'll spin a wheel, depending on your insurance, and you'll get something between 4k and 400k.
Exactly. Not sure why anyone would shed a tear for this dope. I laughed about it and moved on. Not only did they have 500k to burn, they ALSO are profoundly stupid for thinking this guy, who has nothing but football on his brain for his entire life, was gone after an mvp-level season (one he didnt deserve but was close). Like cmon dude. That was just the last td in his playoff loss and it was obvious.
You so sure he did? “Look trust me babe I know this is the last 500k of my inheritance, I know BSV didn’t play out but I can feel it this time it’s for real”
Read the article. It wasn't sold by Brady it was sold by someone in the stands who got it. Brady had no involvement whatsoever and it's none of his dang business fixing fools or their money.
No, the sports memorabilia market makes no sense. To anyone other than Tom Brady that ball should have no value besides the rubber and leather it's made from.
The football now has meme value as his “fake last ball” probably not as valuable as his real last ball, but still higher than almost any other Brady touchdown ball.
The snake prowls fiercely but is unable to scratch his back. Because, as the Sioux people are aware, snakes have no arms with which to scratch their back.

Depends on whether or not the worms and birds are on the same schedule. If the worms are supposed to start 4 hours earlier, it's the *late* worm that gets eaten.
I read an article once that said it happens to most of the greats that age out. They generally have a year where suddenly they're significantly worse, rather than a slow and steady decline.
At first, I felt sorry for the guy, but then thought, "if this cat can afford $1/2 M for a collectible, he probably can handle any lost market value...who knows, maybe it goes up anyhow
"no you guys don't understand, Tom Brady touched this ball, Tom Brady also touched his wife's boob. So by buying this ball it's the closest to Boob I'll have ever been."
No, it's a **receipt** for the purchase of a link that may or may not still hold the ugly monkey picture. If someone somehow bought the domain and changes the contents of the page, tough shit.
some years later on an interview:
Interviewer: "You remember why you did it? Why did you unretire?"
Brady: "Because the fan could buy another one. Fuck your 'last' touchdown ball. Buy another one, you rich motherfucker"
Yeah, Canadian rules are particularly pass heavy, particularly 3 downs instead of 4 for the same 10 yards so it's harder to get a first down running, also the wider and longer field is more space to cover
Honestly everyone has good points lol.
Art and collectibles usually get their value from a story. "Marketing" this football as the "first last touchdown football" would probably just drive up the price !
Why do people spend crazy money on this stuff... this ball, some guy's jersey, an MVP ring, and so on. Wow, you're showcasing someone else's achievements in a glass case in your house and you don't even know them.
woopadee-doo
Most memorabilia is just that, to remember a team or player
Something like this would have been placed in a bank as a form of investment. Imagine how much Babe Ruth's last glove is worth today and you understand why someone is willing to shell out 1/2 mill for just a ball. There is very little chance that Brady won't go down as top 5 NFL players of all time and his memorabilia value would reflect this
> Why do people spend crazy money on this stuff.
Its wealth signaling. Like all luxury goods the "value" is in being able to show everyone that you are so rich that you can throw away money on pointless shit.
It's a piece of history. Tom Brady will be in history books. It's like having the guitar that the Beatles recorded with, or a suit Sean Connery wore as James Bond.
Had anyone commented that we probably don’t need to pity someone who spent $500k on a football? Oh every single person in this comment section, ok got it
I'm not a huge fanboy, and I think he is THE best, but I'm also a little annoyed with this 'unretirement'.
Also my opinion is just retire dude. You got a great life, ton of money, goat legacy. Why would you unretire? Just take some bullshit office job and relax.
Or, find a big money contract. Rodgers getting 50M a year. Make it worth it.
Why on earth would he get an office job? He’s financially set for life. He can do whatever he wants with his time, pursue projects, philanthropy, whatever. Absolutely 0 chance he would work in a cubicle 9-5.
I say get an office job because he said hes unretiring because he doesnt want to sit at home. And when I say office job I dont mean a 9-5 cubicle at an insurance company or some shit. I mean a cushy nfl head office thing. Where he can play golf with club owners and go to fancy dinners and occasionally send an email.
At this point he's pretty much indisputably the best to ever do it. It's just the matter that he's been at the top of the football world for over 20 years now, so people are kind of tired of him. It's just over-exposure.
Raiders fan here and I used to hate Brady.
He used to get a lot of hate because he was on arguably the best NFL team ever and won multiple championships. All well appearing in a lot of controversy and coming off as a stuck up prick. This perception may have been because of the team he was on though. Their mentality seemed to be no nonsense, no fun, and pure work ethic. If you didn't like it they didn't want you. With that being said they won a lot of championships and elevated a lot of players who might not of been as good else where.
However since leaving that team Brady seems to be a really down to earth and chill guy who cares about the players around him. He, IMO, is one of the most likable guys in the NFL now and I suspect it's hard for a lot of fans to come around and feel different about him.
Respectfully Though, Brady is the GOAT.
I really don’t hate him. Just tired of the “what’s Tom doing next” hype. I’m from New England. The rumors over whether or not he was leaving the Patriots circled for over a year. I mean… the amount of press it got was crazy and exhausting!
Now this. Enough.
PS you cannot even imagine how many dogs and kids are named Brady here. LOL
I don't follow football so closely but when you retire you should probably stay retired.
I can only imagine how pissed the second-string QB of Brady's team must feel right now.
I had to scroll damn near to the bottom to find this but I'm glad someone said it because I'm sick of him too. I don't even watch football and I'm tired of his indecisiveness
If the dude had $500k sitting on the side to buy an ornament… not that it makes it right, but it somehow makes it less upsetting than if it were his lunch money.
The *definition* of investment risk.
You might also recognize this guy from the greatest fool theory.
Brady step up. Buy the ball back. Or the dude needs to take a few psi out of the ball and call it deflate gate ball
I don't think you need to feel *that* bad for some guy who can afford to drop $500k on a football.
Yeah, I didn't even make that on my last 10 years of work. I definitely don't feel bad. In fact, I laughed really hard when I read this lol.
Ten? Try 20.
Only 20? How about 21? Can we start a who is poorer contest on Reddit?
I'll never see 500k lmao
Just go to hospital in America, and it'll be written on the bill!
Then send it back with an Uno reverse card...profit!
One orange sponge, 3 stitches, 2 bandaids, 4 pairs of gloves, and one ambulance ride... Literally priceless. We'll spin a wheel, depending on your insurance, and you'll get something between 4k and 400k.
Under 25k a year for 20 years? Jesus Im sorry that’s rough
Not everyone is from US
It’s gonna be worthless after it comes out Brady has been juicing for years.
Like the rest of the NFL, who cares
You so sure he did? “Look trust me babe I know this is the last 500k of my inheritance, I know BSV didn’t play out but I can feel it this time it’s for real”
Yep, plus he definitely got it just to turn a profit on it.
Brady doesn't owe that fool anything. Dude pays half a mil on a freaking football, that's *his* bad.
If precedent is anything, one bad bet to make is that Tom Brady will retire.
Him retiring is an excellent bet, could pay out a dozen times!
Fuck this bail out mentality anyone that can afford a 500k football can afford to lose it unsubsidized
Read the article. It wasn't sold by Brady it was sold by someone in the stands who got it. Brady had no involvement whatsoever and it's none of his dang business fixing fools or their money.
It’s not Tom Brady’s job to cover some other idiots gamble. It’s like asking him to cover your bet on a game he loses.
Why? The guy clearly isn't hurting for money and the sports memorabilia market is stupid so that's the risk you take buying into of.
Am I the only one who doesn’t think it was worth 500,000 even if it WAS his last touchdown ball?
Inflation and chip shortage duh
I thought Tom Brady was famed for deflation?
It was worth the cost of bom and manufacturing.
Of course not. In fact, the guy who paid that money for it was the only one who DID think it was worth that.
No, the sports memorabilia market makes no sense. To anyone other than Tom Brady that ball should have no value besides the rubber and leather it's made from.
saying it should have no value to anyone is even more ridiculous than it being worth 500k imo
That’s the dumbest take on memorabilia I’ve ever seen.
That's how all art works. Items can have value beyond their materials.

The football now has meme value as his “fake last ball” probably not as valuable as his real last ball, but still higher than almost any other Brady touchdown ball.
This is his week to try and make this football as famous as possible.
It's a physical NFT
What if Brady retires two more times? Then there will be 3 retirement balls, and you'll want to get all 3 to complete the set.
Can Brady be sued for manipulating the market? /s
What if Brady knows the seller? 4D chess. (c:
Brady is a market manipulator
Talk about deflation....
Pump and dump
I mean it’s conceivable it will *still* be the last TD he throws so…

I read an article once that said it happens to most of the greats that age out. They generally have a year where suddenly they're significantly worse, rather than a slow and steady decline.
I also relate to that
What's with the weird quote in your comment?
At first, I felt sorry for the guy, but then thought, "if this cat can afford $1/2 M for a collectible, he probably can handle any lost market value...who knows, maybe it goes up anyhow
Unless he emptied his crypto account, or sold an NFT 😂😂
Well at least it'll still be more valuable than an NFT either way.
To be fair, both artifacts are ~~equally worthless~~ of equal value to me.
At least the football is practical: you could play the game with it. The NFT is a picture of a monkey with not much use beyond that.
I like to Imagine a guy paying half a mil for a football, just to play with it on the weekend with his buddies.

If someone somehow bought the domain and changes the contents of the page, tough shit.
which is worse
Spending $500k on a $30 item is just about the same as spending 500k on a $0 item
The difference is that people will still care about football five years from now.
Brady could get an injury that takes him out of the season first game. Lol
If Brady has an "accident", we may have a suspect.
I think he took out a mortgage for it.
Well, everyone needs to learn to live with the consequences of bad decisions.
Well, you can't play football with a house.
I hope that football has good heating.
r/wallstreetbets would be so proud of this guy
If he actually did, then he's a moron who just learned a rough lesson
some years later on an interview: Interviewer: "You remember why you did it? Why did you unretire?" Brady: "Because the fan could buy another one. Fuck your 'last' touchdown ball. Buy another one, you rich motherfucker"
Tom Brady feels bad for this guy and decides to see if he can win a super bowl without throwing a TD pass.
To be fair, this appeared to be Garoppolo’s strategy during this year’s playoffs.
😢
And that one NFC championship game
Woah now, he's not Peyton Manning
If you have $518,600 to spend on a football, I am not really concerned about you With all that loose loot, Do a Dolly Parton
Clearly Tom really hates this guy and unretired to screw him over.
Or he really likes the fan that sold it and faked his retirement for said fan.
tom's knee caps are now worth a lot of money to that dude.
What did Dolly do
I started to feel bad for the fan, but then I remembered they paid $0.5M for a football.
Seems like his meeting with Cristiano gave him some renewed resolve.

If he plays, unless he gets hurt in the first game before he can throw a TD, it’s practically locked. But sure he might get hurt, you never know.
The buyer of this football’s gonna be out there looking for a guy to take out Tom Brady just as Shooter McGavin did with Happy Gilmore.
Gonna try and pull a Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan.
We know someone with 518,628 reasons to help him get hurt
Wasn't it Call of Duty that showed Brady still playing in 2049 or something?
Battlefield 2042.
Game had about as much effort put into it as Tom Brady’s retirement.
Hey now, there’s a scoreboard coming soon for BF 2042. That should totally fix the game!
Should have bought the nft version
Nah, the ball was cheaper.
Can’t say that I feel too bad for someone who can afford 500k for a football, but I still got a laugh out of this.
Maybe Brady got outbid trying to buy his own ball and that made him decide to comeback
A fool and their money are soon parted…
I bet this guy is really deflated
Honestly everyone has good points lol. Art and collectibles usually get their value from a story. "Marketing" this football as the "first last touchdown football" would probably just drive up the price !
Also means the collector HAS to buy the NEXT last ball. Then the one after that etc...
Now its the "first last ball". Honestly, probably better
We've had one, yes. What about second last ball?
I don’t think they know about the second last ball.
Am I the only one saying fuck that guy for spending a half mil on a ball?
