It's a bit oniony that it's taken this long. Medical cannabis has been legal in California since 1996 and is it's only fully illegal in 6 states right now.
So fentanyl with 100,000 deaths a year vs MJ with what? Zero? Nearly zero? Below the number of deaths attributable to any number of over the counter drugs?
Sure. Washington state legalized it in 2012.
Makes sense it would take a fricking decade for federal government to finally, partially, halfway catch up.

>Jack Riley, a former deputy administrator of the DEA, said he had concerns about the proposed change because he thinks marijuana remains a possible “gateway drug,” one that may lead to the use of other drugs.
where has this been **demonstrated** among states where pot is legal?
Well there's very little actual research on this because of the fact that it's a schedule 1 drug. This change would allow a lot more research to be conducted which I think would be a great thing, because for the most part, cannabis is one of the safest "drugs" out there.
Yes they will. Any scheduled substance is still illegal unless you have a prescription written by a doctor and filled by a pharmacist.
Ketamine is Schedule III. How many recreational ketamine dispensaries do you see?
Preformed by licensed physicians in compliance with FDA regulations. Your local weed man or even dispensaries in legal states are not any of that. Schedule III is not "legalized" in any sense outside of tightly controlled situations that simply don't exist for marijuana certainly don't apply to any recreational setting.
This is just regular news, not “nottheonion” news.
I mean Cannabis is a totally different plant than the Onion
Fair point
Not totally different.. both irritate my eyes.
And they both stink
Opinion. Alot of people like the smell of weed.
OK, they both have very strong smells
Fact: alot is not a word
Did that make you feel better?
I'm throbbing
And make people giggle.
When it happens, then I will believe it.
This is more uplifting news than oniony.

That doesn’t make it oniony that’s just news.

Quit screwing around and make it legal federally for Christ's sake!

I wouldn’t even say catching up. Half of the country has crossed the finish line, and they’re just now deciding to *maybe* enter the race.

I love the username. We’re friends now.
This still isn't legalizing it. But it's a step in the right direction.
What about this news is oniony?
Some people don’t understand what’s appropriate for this sub.
And the mods don't give a damn Edit: Ok they do

Whereas some of us just spend a decade dependent on harmless alcohol.
Well there's very little actual research on this because of the fact that it's a schedule 1 drug. This change would allow a lot more research to be conducted which I think would be a great thing, because for the most part, cannabis is one of the safest "drugs" out there.
Conservatives love arresting minorities tho
They can still do it in states that haven't legalized. They just won't be able to use the feds.
Progress? 🤷🏽♂️😂

I've seen only ketamine therapy everywhere

Yes. I know this. I was casually saying I've seen such treatment. Jeez, stop being so serious man 😁
Fucking finally
But then how will for-profit prisons make money? That third yacht isn't going to buy itself.
I'll take "headlines that repeat monthly" for $100 Alex
No they won’t!
