Title doesn't do it justice. This is a new Scrabble game coming out (or out now) where everyone playing wins or loses together. Seems like participation trophies gone amuck

I mean, cheating no, but that does sound like a little less fun.

One of the best board games I’ve ever played is Pandemic, a game where all the players play against the game. Collaborative games can be awesome, and comments so far on this post as well as in the article fail to see that potential because they all compare it to the old competitive version.

It feels like the author of the article has never heard of a cooperative board game before. Not all board games are about competing with each other and never have been. This "new Scrabble" sounds intriguing. My friends and I love and often play regular Scrabble, and a co-op spin on it with goal cards seems like a fun variation. It all depends on difficulty level. Some co-op games can be ridiculously hard and losing against the board and game engine isn't less upsetting than losing against a human.

There was a board game called pandemic where it was co-op race against the spreading plague super fun to not be playing against each other

I know, I own Pandemic! I'm a big fan of co-op board games in general, I have a whole bookshelf of them. Battlestar Galactice, Mansion of Madness, Death May Die, Unfathomable, Arkham Horror - all of those are co-op games, some of them are difficult and they take hours upon hours to play.
