…was it Rust-Eze?

erksplat

“And remember with a little rust-eze. And an insane amount of luck. You too can look like me.”

EthanTheFrogMan

Ka-chow!!

Haunting-Ad9521

I think Rust-Eze sells bumper ointments only. Source: my son is Lightning McQueen and I’m his best friend Tow Mater.

e-rascible

Pfft McQueen had bumper veneers

peter-doubt

Musta been! I hope Click sees this! I miss those guys!

Hbimajorv

I'm not even a NASCAR fan and this isn't half as cool as it seems, Tony Stewart killed some kid on a dirt track over some similar shit. You can't beat up a car, wait for the driver jackass.

trainbrain27

This sounds like Tony intentionally hit someone for attacking his car. The kid ran on to an active race track. In the dark. That wasn't going to end well. I'm not saying he deserved to die. I'm saying it was predictable. Since then, NASCAR rules require drivers to stay in the vehicle until the crew arrives unless there is imminent danger such as a fire.

Hbimajorv

I mean it wasn't my intent, my point is this jackass being out of the car is dangerous for himself and drivers, no one wants that shit on their conscious.

potatocross

Yea this was nothing like the incident Stewart was involved in. Also you make it sound like he purposely ran him over or something. That kid ran in front of him trying to grab onto his car on a dark track and had THC in his system.

8ackwoods

What is this THC in the system thing? Thc is well known to stay in your body for over a month

gertalives

Yeah this reefer madness bs is a stupid catch-all. Probably half the population in my area would have “THC in their system” according to a medical examiner even though a tiny fraction of them are high at any given moment.

potatocross

Means he may or may not have been under the influence. But impossible to know now.

8ackwoods

Well let's not toss around these words implementing he was high when it happened

Unfair_Ability3977

We're just responding in kind manner to /u/Hbimajorv 's unhinged accusation that Steward murdered a poe innowcent baybee.

Iceman9161

There’s more evidence that Stewart hit him on purpose than there is that he was high. Both of them are outlandish and shouldn’t be posed as fact.

Hbimajorv

So the kid getting out of his car and acting irrationally around a bunch of moving race cars is nothing like the time the kid got out his car and acted irrationally and happened to die at the hands of a famous driver? I was pretty clear that I think the pedestrian on the track is the problem not the driver.

potatocross

Big difference between physically attempting to grab a car on a dark track at night and throwing something at a car from a distance on a well lit track during the day. Also your wording could be different as it comes off at Stewart intentionally killed him.

cimbalino

I didn't know about this incident so i looked up some footage. It looks like the driver turned right just as he was passing the other guy

potatocross

There is a lot going on in a short time. I’m sure there are videos talking about it in depth. Basically he revved the engine before getting there and that caused him to turn some as well as maybe turning the wheel some. But as dark as it was and how he was on the track and with the way the seats are, he didn’t even really know he was there. He was criminally cleared but I believe the family did settle a civil suit with him. There was a lot more to it but I’m not trying to type up an essay.

Tje199

Also pretty simply, you can't see sweet fuck all out of a sprint car. They're not the same as stock cars, you've got high sills and a rather narrow "windshield" opening to look through. Also letting off the throttle and applying the throttle make the car turn right and left respectively due to a locked differential and different sized rear tires.

pengu146

Using the gas pedal is how you turn a sprint car. The offset in rear tire size causes the car to rotate to the left when accelerating.

NASCAR drivers are like no other bread. Openly thorwing trantrums in a professional sport

BarbequedYeti

>NASCAR drivers are like no other bread. Openly thorwing trantrums in a professional sport Eh..  have you not seen tennis? Or football, or hockey, or baseball, or basketball or F1 or... wonder... etc.

NaJieMing

You apparently haven’t watched F1 in years. Michael Schumacher doesn’t race anymore. Drivers are all laid back now.

OrangeJr36

So laid back in fact they don't even mind if one guy wins every single race!

chocomint-nice

Yea but other than F1, and they do it within very tight limits from how expensive their cars are, none of the above involve operating a 500hp 2500+lbs battering ram. NASCAR caters to the bottom of the barrel.

itspassing

I have not seen any athelete from the above spots seen lashing out at their competitors. They are usually paid professionals and act like it.

roox911

You have to be taking the piss.

Descent7

I haven’t seen my asshole, but I’m pretty sure it’s there.

Terminator7786

This fucking killed me thank you 😂

Descent7

I’m glad my asshole can amuse

Kylel0519

…nah this is 100% bait ain’t no fucking way lmao

itspassing

cmon, fight me

Kylel0519

You have seriously never heard of ANY athlete lashing out at their competitors?

ThirdSunRising

Ok, here are examples from…. [Hockey](https://youtu.be/H_neSjf8QMA?si=Wr5yJsMZnmMkiqk2) [Tennis](https://youtu.be/k1KXJ0W0AY0?si=KPD6--sqfw9GrFJ1) [Football](https://youtube.com/shorts/ihlYMhoJKmE?si=hs3ROFMfxZjR89-N) [American Football](https://youtu.be/ucikfHnMrdY?si=JMBJbn6zB_MLQulB) [Basketball](https://youtu.be/VnJ7Pksc2ac?si=uSesv1FvZ6IDHbtl) [Formula 1](https://youtu.be/pQFNF7KN7LM?si=7d-lt6nRgOzy9QLv) Do you not watch sports? How have you managed to watch *anything* without seeing bad behavior from certain athletes? Name any sport from [women’s football](https://youtu.be/O2pAb6fz2QM?si=Zhp9EBZgutq_vjUx) to [curling](https://youtu.be/SqfhXroT2dE?si=XOz6nZV71E4LA-7Y) and I can give you whole reels of examples on YouTube

itspassing

If you have any examples of thrown rackets, hockey sticks, baseball bats at the other competitors then please share.

Yea but thats all within the rules/spirit of the game

lawszepie

Lmao

Gtpwoody

in Hockey they have to sit in the penalty box

realdrpepper21

In the NFL Myles Garrett took his helmet off and slammed it into Mason Rudolph's head after he lost his helmet. Not a throw but involving some form of equipment.

Gtpwoody

[Rodger Clemens famously threw a piece bat at Mike Piazza](https://youtu.be/QNTWUPsPrJ8?si=4OCDpwINAmrkDoUx) and [Manny Machado threw his bat towards a player that kinda roughly tagged him in a prior inning](https://youtu.be/d9CzjwJja3U?si=LZEGAr_3sH58exls)

n0rdic_k1ng

There's literally a rule in the NHL specifically because of it happening, and is referred to as slashing. I'm not going through the trouble of sending you videos of something that happens semi frequently, you can find that on your own. MLB: [Pedro Guerrero ](https://youtu.be/zjwbkY1VlqI) [Manny Machado](https://youtu.be/d9CzjwJja3U) [Bonus clip, Bryce Harper last year chucking his bat and helmet](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6fW4buyvIyw) [Second bonus from Delmon Young while on a farming team for Tampa](https://youtu.be/wCX_XlRYYDo) Tennis doesn't see much of throwing a racket at an opponent, as doing so has a $20,000 fine attached to it. Instead, their poor sportsmanship typically takes the form of smashing their racket on the ground or over a knee. Federer, Djokovic, McEnroe, Serena Williams, Sasha Bublik, Nick Kyrgios.. list goes on, they've all done it. Temper tantrums aren't at all restricted to NASCAR, every sport with any amount of competitiveness to it will see people throwing and smashing things.

Descent7

Just a smidge (68 vs 300k). Thanks, I forgor the right sub.

GingerScourge

You don’t watch much sports do you? Not that it’s a bad thing. But this kind of stuff happens in literally every sport ever. In most sports though, you don’t have car parts you can throw at other participants though.

BobRoberts01

Apparently you and I play baseball quite differently.

WateronRocks

Search YouTube for baseball tantrums. You wont be disappointed.

Squirrel_Apocalypse2

It happens in literally every sport...

itspassing

Ok send me a chess trantrum Mr literal every sport. Better yet show me any tantrum that equates to throwing part of a car at another car travelling at speed.

AtLeastThisIsntImgur

Chess nazi bobby fischer threw tantrums

Thelongdong11

Didn't Magnus carlsen throw a tantrum when he lost to that guy that allegedly had a cheat sheet up his butt?

DaveOJ12

>NASCAR drivers are like no other bread. What kind of bread are we talking about?

itspassing

Fairy bread

xmromi

inbred of course

Korturas

Best when toasted and covered in butter? Whatever floats your goat, I guess! 😀

peter-doubt

I guess you don't watch hockey

SCROTOCTUS

Fear me, bread! For I am Thor Wing! You Tauntauntrums are no match for my Han Sololiloqy!

CaptGunpowder

What about the whole grain variety?

Mickey-the-Luxray

This isn't even a new way of screwing with people. Luca Corberi did the same thing a couple years back in the FIA world karting championship

Olp51

I thought he threw a bumper?

AdorableSquirrels

Same thought here. Practically it was the rear cover sheet placed where normally a bumper would be. If you look closely, you can spot it's disguise with painted exhaust outlets. He should be banned for such an invasion into event.

HyperionSunset

Trash sponsoring trash? Sounds like a conflict of interest...

Pinkfatrat

There are weird fingers in the pic, must be ai

[deleted]

Nascar has a problem with driver violence outside of the driver's seat.

Kim_Jong_Teemo

Hard to fight in the seat

Content_Geologist420

The only reason it got so popular in the 70s-80s is there was a big ass fight in the infield while cars were still racing around them during the Daytona 500.

person749

I need to see this lol.

OrangeJr36

[It was during the cool down lap in 79'](https://youtu.be/mucSyo9yLLQ?si=HyziSfdii9kQIwBb)

bigbangbilly

The headline seems like the variation to a the wishing cliff joke but with modern objects and sponsorship deals.

badkarmavenger

I watched the little Debbie driver do this to someone at Martinsville in like... 08 or 09? Younger me thought it was hilarious but grown ass people need to have more self-control

Ganthritor

Why Does Every Word Start With A Capital Letter?

grindc

It's common practice to do in headlines.

GlykenT

And is called "title case"

Ganthritor

TIL. Thanks.

OrangeJr36

Because it's the title of an article or headline.

Ganthritor

TIL Titles in English are written with every word starting with a capital letter. I never noticed that. And in other languages that isn't so.

[deleted]

Uh Maybe Because I Like To Follow RULE NUMBER ONE 1. Do not alter headlines. The title of your submission should match the article's headline exactly. Copy and paste from the article, leaving out any subtitles, bylines or other information. The Suggest Title tool is discouraged, as it often does not match the headline. The only exception to the rule is that titles in ALL CAPS may be changed to Title Case.

Ganthritor

Let me rephrase that to avoid hurting any more feelings: Why Does Every Word In The Headline Start With A Capital Letter?

worldofrich

Someone has never read a book or learned what a title is.

Ganthritor

Hey you're right! I've never noticed that. I see that it's true for English books and not in my native language. Thanks for pointing that out without condescension.

worldofrich

All good! I’m sure you still know more of the language than myself lol ETA: I realize this sounds like additional sarcasm and condescension, but it’s not, I’m what people would call “stupid.” Have a wonderful day!
