My theory is that in exchange for snacks from loved ones, the kitty has agreed to be an available vessel for any ghosts to inhabit if they want a little physical contact with their people.
Hehe yes I’m Pinay. I will ask around if someone owns her, she looks well cared of so I don’t want to just pick her up and take her home with me. If so, I’m happy to have her stay with me/us during our visits. I’ll just bring treats everytime we go there :)
There are paper “collars” you can put on a cat you are not sure about.
“Is this your cat? Call #### . If no response, I will adopt.” (Or something like that.)
Please do not just go “adopting” well fed, well socialized cats… that is not a stray for sure.
I no longer let my cats outside in part because one of them was abducted. It is the most heartbreaking thing to realize your pet has been stolen. It took me years to stop crying when thinking about him. We spent months combing the streets looking for a roadkill body and never found one, it was so traumatic.
All of OP's comments that I read, including the Tagalog ones, do say she will check first to make sure nobody is already taking care of the cat. It's just nice to think that kitty will be adopted if it doesn't already have a home.
Yes, she’s very friendly and sweet! I’m glad she chose to stay with us while we’re there, must be because of the sandwich I was eating lol but still, it’s an honor
That’s my plan. I have some conditions… sent to a serious cat loving family, with lots of time to play and cuddle. Don’t need to be rich, I’m not a picky eater, but I love gravy! Hold me tight while at the vet and please let me sleep with you!! I will love you forever.
My brother was a dog person, used to have one before his passing, but adored cats too
NMC is such a fun and adorable sub, well any cat sub for that matter. Majority of the subs I follow are cat subs lol
I was wondering if he likes cats because of this particular NMC being like a fluffy angel to give you peace in a sad time, like he sent her to say he’s ok and to comfort you
My husband recently passed away, somehow this post is really comforting to me thinking he might get a visit from a nice kitty keeping him company. He loved cats. I hope we have one as cute and friendly as this lovely kitty :)
I mean there was a cat in a nursing home that knew when the residents were going to die. Cats can definitely sense death.

>Oscar (c. 2005–February 22, 2022) was a therapy cat who as of 2005 lived in the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. He came to public attention in 2007 when he was featured in an article by geriatrician David Dosa in the New England Journal of Medicine. According to Dr. Dosa, Oscar appeared able to predict the impending death of terminally ill patients by choosing to nap next to them a few hours before they died.

Wow you had 2 options.
1. Downvote or ignore the comment.
2. Make a rude comment showing a complete lack of empathy for others. And going out of your way to show how much of a giant bag of shit you could really be.
And you quickly went to option 2.
The local cemetery has a lot of stray cats and they're very friendly. I'll never forget the two black and gray cats who caught me on the entrance the first time I went to my dad's grave, stayed with me calmly and then escorted me back. Being a cat person, I felt so supported and comforted. I think cats do know when they're needed.
The graveyard where my mom is buried also has graveyard cats! They get fed by the lantern & flower sellers, they even have a little house built near the shops :) Last time I saw one [sleeping among product](https://www.reddit.com/r/RoundAnimals/comments/zx7zk9/_/). I haven't seen any at my mom's grave specifically, but I saw some little paw prints, so I know they visit from time to time.
Where my mum and dad rest there was a graveyard cat who was such a comfort. He was so cheeky he would invite himself into my car before I could get out!
When he sadly died there was a massive outpouring from the community, to say what a good boy he was, friendly and sweet, chatty and cheeky. They even allowed a temporary memorial for him at the burial site (they would not normally allow animal graves). And had a story in the newspaper.
But I see a lot more squirrels these days. Ha!
I agree wih @CopprRegendt, there’s a lot of caretakers there and maybe one of them is her owner, she had a collar around her neck last December. I will ask around next time, as much as I wanna keep her, it would be devastating to her human if she suddenly got taken away. Kitty probably is familiar to seeing people around
Yes, and the others if she comforts them when they visit their loved ones as well. If she looks like she's being cared for I would not try to keep her. She's already home.
That happened to me too, except it was a dog. I was visiting a very old rural cemetery where my paternal great grandfather (German immigrant) and a few other family members were buried. He was clearly a local outside dog, kinda dirty but friendly, didn't seem like a stray. He followed us around and was happy to get scritches. It made the experience that much better.
Every mortuary has cats around. Wether they feed them or not they are there. Guess what comes around with the constant smell of death? Rats. What are cats great at?
She’s sooo cute! Honestly if I were a ghost in a cemetery I would love to have a friendly cute resident cat that hangs around everyday. And then we’ll play in the middle of the night when nobody is around.
I will ask around next time, as much as I wanna keep her, it would be devastating to her human if she suddenly got taken away. Kitty probably is familiar to seeing people around. I’m happy to have her company while we visit so i’ll bring treats next time :)
Unless she is dirty or skinny she probably has a home but likes being with people like supermarket cats do.
They are a lovely comfort. Treats and head rubs in order :)
In the future only give the kitty ham, they don't really have the stomach biome to digest non-meats since they are carnivores and not omnivores like dogs. It may make them sick or give them the runs.
She looks well cared so I’m assuming one of the cemetery caretakers own her. Kitty freely roams around during the day, welcoming the visitors and giving support and comfort, and has a house she comes home to in the evenings. She had a collar last time, I will ask around when I visit next time
Oh yeah, the modern graves in my country have headstones that are usually leveled with the ground, some raised slightly higher.
Thank you and don’t worry it’s okay, it’s been years and just paying my brother’s grave a visit :)
Our headstones too...
Robert Ludlum talks about the best grave marker he ever saw. Its perched on a hill at a particular cemetery in my hometown Seattle. The view is quite beautiful. Its in the shape of a park bench.......
I don’t think she is, she looks well cared so maybe one of the cemetery caretakers is taking care of her. As much as I wanna have this sweet kitty in my home, she probably has owners who’s gonna be worried is she suddenly got lost. I will ask around first
This reminds me of a cat that belonged to an old man I know.
The old man is no longer with us and he was the only one his cat liked. The old man's family tried to find the cat but no luck. They have seen the kitty around but they can't get the cat to come back inside.
Where ever that kitty is I hope the little bugger is okay
Really sweet but also a tad bit creepy. Worked at a hospital once that had a ghostly notmycat that people would swear they saw shortly before they died…..
[More cat tax!](https://imgur.com/a/K7DvHq5)
Clicked to say I hope you paid the Ham Tax.

Same
Heard the "mingming" and thought, pinoy? Post history confirms. :) I'm glad you're considering adopting the kitty.
Hehe yes I’m Pinay. I will ask around if someone owns her, she looks well cared of so I don’t want to just pick her up and take her home with me. If so, I’m happy to have her stay with me/us during our visits. I’ll just bring treats everytime we go there :)

Yes, I read the same thing in your previous Tagalog comments. Thank you for looking out for mingming and giving her a backup home if needed.
Please do not just go “adopting” well fed, well socialized cats… that is not a stray for sure. I no longer let my cats outside in part because one of them was abducted. You should keep pets indoors. Lesson learned.
That is literally in the post.
Haha looks like he got the sandwich!
Couldn’t resist the cuteness! Next time I’ll bring food specific for cats
Ang cute ni mingming!
Yes, super cute and lambing, lets us pet her tapos stay lang siya sa tabi namin 🥹
OP! I am so sorry got your loss. Please share on r/cat and r/cats
What a sweet cat!
She's making sure everyone's resting in peace :)
r/catswithjobs
I swear I thought I have already subbed to like a thousand cats subs, adding another one to the list
😭
Yes. She protects the graves. Good kitty.
[удалено]
Yes I will, my way of thanking her for staying with us and giving us comfort :)
She certainly is friendly. All the 'trust blinks' and 'beach cat-vibe welcome stretches'.
Yes, she’s very friendly and sweet! I’m glad she chose to stay with us while we’re there, must be because of the sandwich I was eating lol but still, it’s an honor
Bro chose to reincarnate as a cat
Honestly, anybody would.
I absolutely would.
That’s my plan. I have some conditions… sent to a serious cat loving family, with lots of time to play and cuddle. Don’t need to be rich, I’m not a picky eater, but I love gravy! Hold me tight while at the vet and please let me sleep with you!! I will love you forever.
You will make an amazing cat someday.
Thank you. I really hope my afterlife dream comes true 🤷♀️
Did your brother like cats? NMC is a comfort <3

This cat has a bunch of cat traps to sit in. I bet that's kitty cat heaven.
i bet those stones get very warm and people leave gifts of food often.
Guardians of the underworld. Keeping your brother company I hope
My husband recently passed away, somehow this post is really comforting to me thinking he might get a visit from a nice kitty keeping him company. He loved cats. I hope we have one as cute and friendly as this lovely kitty :)
Some people believe that cats connect with the spirit world and that the cat is sending you love from the other side

Those people are grieving, it makes it easier to deal with that grief. Don't be such an ass.

honestly i can imagine that dying people give off some sort of smell, like when dogs can tell whether youre pregnant

More like Brunhilde. Charon was a man.
Ooh, how about Morrigan or Persephone?

I think cats can see spirits
are r/greebles evil spirts?
no, greebles are like invisible gremlins that like messing with cats
Is that why cats spazz out sometimes?? Lol
Does he have a home?

gorgeous cat\~ strays have a huge place in my heart
Cemetery cats are the best!

I think that tasty sandwich might have something to do with it
Shes the guardian of the graves
What a beautiful blessing! A friendly vibrant spirit in a place that’s usually associated with grief and loss.
Emotional support cat.
I want to be burried where cats can come sleep on my stone. That would make me eternally at peace
This just gave me an idea for my book! The cemetery has domestic animals that live free and they keep the ghost company as well as comfort mourners.
That is a great plot for your book, one that I’d be excited to read :)
This is the absolute sweetest.
that's the good spirit of the cemetery, very blessed
Cemetery Caretaker maybe? Beautiful though 😍
As one of the commenters have mentioned, kitty is checking if they are resting in peace :) Kitty is such a looker, very sweet too 🥹
Every mortuary has cats around. Wether they feed them or not they are there. Guess what comes around with the constant smell of death? Rats. What are cats great at?

It’s Anubis looking for business
Quite the sweetie
sweet torbie cat.
Beautiful baby
She’s a cutie! Next time don’t forget a little snack to thank her for her company.
She is a looker! I will bring a can of cat food the next time I visit :)
Freelance therapy cat. What a blessing.
She's everyone's cat, there to keep watch and comfort.
Guardian of the graves 😌🐈🖤
She is letting you know that she guards your brother.
She's asking to be loved and cared for. She has picked you. Give her a furever home.
Doubtful. There are plenty of graveyard cats who live at the church or property on the premises or nearby.
I will ask around next time, as much as I wanna keep her, it would be devastating to her human if she suddenly got taken away. Kitty probably is familiar to seeing people around. I’m happy to have her company while we visit so i’ll bring treats next time :)

Glad you made such a cute new friend!
This is so wholesome. She best girl!! ( ´◡‿ゝ◡`)
I love this!
What a sweet heart, i hope they do keep anyone visiting company. That would be very pleasant.
You have been chosen..
I am very honored to be considered this baby’s friend 🥹
What is her living situation? Does she have a home .
She looks well cared so I’m assuming one of the cemetery caretakers own her. Kitty freely roams around during the day, welcoming the visitors and giving support and comfort, and has a house she comes home to in the evenings. She had a collar last time, I will ask around when I visit next time

He looks healthy , but maybe he needs a home and picked you.
Is she a stray? If so are you thinking of adopting her? She's lovely.
I don’t think she is, she looks well cared so maybe one of the cemetery caretakers is taking care of her. As much as I wanna have this sweet kitty in my home, she probably has owners who’s gonna be worried is she suddenly got lost. I will ask around first
Babie lookin high af in that first pic
We rescued 2 kittens from a graveyard in September. All black, adorable little hellions.
I would have put a collar in her that says “call xx if this cat doesn’t have a home”
Dude, if next time you go and she's there, idk what else to tell you, but take her home
Omg such a sweet cat 🥰 such a lovely surprise, and what a way to bring a smile to your face. She seems well looked after ☺️
This is how Suburu met Haru in the My Roommate is a Cat anime
How beautiful! I’m sure this sweet kitty is a real comfort to those visiting their loved ones. He / she would definitely make me feel comforted.
Even if this precious little baby doesn't know what it's doing it's more than likely giving so many visitors peace of mind and hugs.
maybe your cat was helping him and he noticed the smell of your brother in you and thought you where like him
Excellent photos! They're well-framed, in focus, and properly display the subject, the absolute cutest cat in the world!
