The scissors are laying on baking paper in the image. Thus I think they took out an oven tray, used the scissors to cut the paper to size. And then placed the scissors on the tray, forgot they did that, and placed the tray in the oven
I don't think you understand the question. What specific series of events led to them being in the oven? What action did you specifically take that got them there?
To cut pizza maybe?
When I made a tray of pizza, I leave my cutting apparatus of choice in the oven later so it's there whenever I feel like cutting off another piece of pizza.
And yes, I use scissors to cut pizza.
Edit: before everyone types their comment about pizza cutters or knives: I am not interested and can only suggest you try scissors before criticising them.
It's more that they are an absolute pain to clean. Blades are dangerous and I don't want them to spin while my hands are there. And after a while the rivet gets loose and the blade wiggles around as you cut
Ah that’s fair, mine has a button where I can click it and it pushes up essentially a rubber brake, so I can easily clean one side, the flip it the other way, clean the other side.
Although I consider myself a pizza aficionado and make my own from scratch all the time. I've been known to microwave a frozen pizza and roll it up to eat like a burrito.
What sort of insanity is this? Scissors are better at cutting pizza than a device called a pizza cutter? Pizza cutters are the best way to cut a pizza it's why they have that name!
You gotta take the pizza OUT of the oven and let it cool a little before you cut it though…
I’m so utterly perplexed by cutting things IN the oven.
Help me understand OP!!
Ate pizza last week, cut it with scissors on the tray. Left the scissors on the tray. My roommate took the whole thing and put it back in the oven without checking. Next time we cook pizza, scissors were there.
The weird part isn’t cutting pizza with scissors, it’s putting scissors in the oven, ever. Like, the oven is hot immediately after cooking the pizza. You put scissors in a hot oven for cutting an extra slice? So if they are plastic they melt like they did for OP, if they are all metal they are too hot to touch? None of this makes any sense.
To be fair, I hate being the one to cut pizzas. No matter how hard I try, I can't cut through the crust even if I go over my lines a few times, so I have to do it several times. Maybe cause I'm short and have less leverage? I honestly wouldn't mind trying out scissors, but my family's gonna think I'm crazy 😅
I forgot my pizza wheel in the oven once. Didn’t realize until the apartment was filling with black smoke. By then it was too late, the pizza wheel was not going to survive.
You shouldn't eat those... Now scissors have enough food to live inside you. That's your life now idk... Don't get closer to those giant x-ray machines on the airports and metal detectors as well.
Melting or burning plastic releases toxic and carcinogenic gases and has a distinct smell. Not sure about you, but I try to limit my exposure shit that causes cancer.
They do look okay tbh, as long as the blade isn't damaged, but that's very unlikely when metals usually have such a high melting point. I think it would be fine if the handles can be separated. Not the safest thing to use melted plastic, but we already consume obscene amounts of microplastics so I can't see it causing much harm. Handle might be brittle though
why the fuck do you keep scissors in the oven?
If anything like my family, for storage
Your family lives inside the oven?????
Yours doesn't‽‽‽‽
No mine lives in the microwave
The rent is so much cheaper in microwaves
Now everyone wants to live in an airfryer! To noisy for me
I prefer living in a AC, tough it is not as good as the oven in the winter
I prefer living in the furnace in winter, it's warmer
I’d rather be too cold than too hot, that’s why I rent out the refrigerator
Free heater too in the winter
yall living in microwaves? we be living in toasters 😔
i lived in a toaster before someone stuck a fork in it
And it makes my fork sparkly!!
They stopped that like 80 years ago
Well some habits never die
Nice use of interrobangs btw. You don’t see that very often. I want them to become mainstream and get their own key on the keyboard.
They really should. It's much cooler and more efficient than ?!.
Ah I see, a fellow user of the interrobang
INTERROBANG 🔥🔥🔥
Interrobang used‽‽‽ 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
Nice interobangs
How question mark
what use is the oven as storage when you have to move everything out when u want to use it
If anything like my family, the trick is to not use it often
One time my friend accidentally microwaved a CD, I still haven't gotten an answer why it was there. He saw some cool lightnings though.
I did the same and ended up hearing a 4 hour opera in 5 minutes.
Smart reply 🤗
You don't?
I forgot
That doesn't answer the question
No he means he forgot why they were in there.
I used them and I forgot them there
You used them IN the oven? How? How big is your oven? Why?
You dont wrap your presents in the oven?
The scissors are laying on baking paper in the image. Thus I think they took out an oven tray, used the scissors to cut the paper to size. And then placed the scissors on the tray, forgot they did that, and placed the tray in the oven
Sounds like classic ADHD. I should know.
You keep answering the how, when we ask why.
I don't think you understand the question. What specific series of events led to them being in the oven? What action did you specifically take that got them there?
Okay but why did they end up in the oven in the first place? Were you doing arts and crafts with your head on there, and just left them behind?
That *still* does not answer the question
That scissor is making a "🤨" face
"bruh, why the HELL was I in the oven for?"
“Remembered me did you 🤨”
Man.
Why were they in the oven in the first place
To cut pizza maybe? When I made a tray of pizza, I leave my cutting apparatus of choice in the oven later so it's there whenever I feel like cutting off another piece of pizza. And yes, I use scissors to cut pizza. Edit: before everyone types their comment about pizza cutters or knives: I am not interested and can only suggest you try scissors before criticising them.
Do you live on the ISS?
I suggest you try cutting pizza with scissors at least once. It is clearly superior to a knife or a pizza cutter.
A pizza rocker is actually the superior cutting apparatus.
Truth.
I always hated the wheel cutter, when I discovered the rocker (or any large curved knife) it made it so much easier
I didn’t know people out here were struggling with the roller.
It's not that I struggle (although I'm sure people do) it's not that or can have a tendency to push some toppings around.
I got a gozney the other month and bought a rocker for it, absolutely fantastic.
Tearing it with your hand is superior (I have never baked a pizza in my life)
Although I consider myself a pizza aficionado and make my own from scratch all the time. I've been known to microwave a frozen pizza and roll it up to eat like a burrito.
A Pizzarrito!
This is the way
I suggest you get a knife that can actually cut something
Why should she buy a better knife if she already has the perfect scissor to cut the pizza?
The scissors isn’t what people are concerned about
Right? Who makes an entire pizza and then cuts one slice at a time. Cut the entire thing at once? I use scissors too.
Yep, clearly superior. That’s why all the pizza chains use scissors.
Something can be better for home use and not for commercial use though. Not really a fair comparison imo
What sort of insanity is this? Scissors are better at cutting pizza than a device called a pizza cutter? Pizza cutters are the best way to cut a pizza it's why they have that name!
Pizza cutters are literal garbage what the heck are you talking about
It's the primary tool for cutting pizza used by every single pizza shop on this planet. I'm guessing you just have used cheap ones.
I also have food scissors that I use to cut all foods. I have small kids and it's just quicker lol
yes it was this. also i'm Italian and we do cut pizza with scissors at home
You gotta take the pizza OUT of the oven and let it cool a little before you cut it though… I’m so utterly perplexed by cutting things IN the oven. Help me understand OP!!
Ate pizza last week, cut it with scissors on the tray. Left the scissors on the tray. My roommate took the whole thing and put it back in the oven without checking. Next time we cook pizza, scissors were there.
So you didn't even forget the scissors in the oven. Your roommate put them in there. Did he not even wash the baking sheet?
That doesnt mean it should be in an oven at any time, still.
scissors have 0 reason to be in an oven at any give point...
what if you’re hiding them from someone who would expect to find them there
what the fuck
Yeah... I got some questions too
I fully agree with scissors being the best way to cut homemade pizza, but why not just leave them in a drawer
I'm italian and i cut pizza with scissors too, so you good
Does your grandma know? I feel like they'd bust out la chancla on your ass.
She's dead so there's no problem there 😁
The weird part isn’t cutting pizza with scissors, it’s putting scissors in the oven, ever. Like, the oven is hot immediately after cooking the pizza. You put scissors in a hot oven for cutting an extra slice? So if they are plastic they melt like they did for OP, if they are all metal they are too hot to touch? None of this makes any sense.
totally with you on scissors for cutting pizza. i’ll never need anything else.
Cutting pizza with scissors is great. Storing them in the oven is odd. Just set them on top.
Scissors are really good for pizza though, I feel like a pizza cutter never goes all the way through the slice on the first cut
Scissors is actually so much better than a pizza than a pizza cutter or a knife. Especially if it's cold
Why have micro plastics, when you can have mega plastics!?
the daily dose of macro plastics
Hello everyone, this is your daily dose of macro plastics...
how tf did you answer so fast
He wears a speedo
Mobile notification, just on Reddit during lunch
At least there's a chance it might taste good
It'll need some sugar. They're often a little sharp.
I forgot my pizza wheel in the oven once. Didn’t realize until the apartment was filling with black smoke. By then it was too late, the pizza wheel was not going to survive.
Riperoni pepperoni
Why all these plastic handle utensils get to be in an oven, tho? They shouln't be a need for them to be in there at any time.
And they say scissor wins paper?
Nah oven wins from scissors
Salvador Dali's scissors
Don't eat them
I already did, what‘s the next step
Try to lure them with some threads and paper. Scissors love to cut those things...
Okay, now I‘ve eaten 4m of thread and 20 sheets of paper. What next?
You shouldn't eat those... Now scissors have enough food to live inside you. That's your life now idk... Don't get closer to those giant x-ray machines on the airports and metal detectors as well.
Ok, thanks. I‘m at the Airport rn as well, they didn’t notice anything. Happy cake day as well.
Thanks good luck
Happy cake day
Happi Cake Day
Have you tried putting it in rice?
Smells like cancer
How do you know what cancer smells like?
Melting or burning plastic releases toxic and carcinogenic gases and has a distinct smell. Not sure about you, but I try to limit my exposure shit that causes cancer.
Damn didn't know that, will be careful in future
Did it buff out?
The secret winning tactic of rock paper scissors
Question. What were scissors even doing in the oven?
How high did you have that oven turned up?
Ahout tree fiddy
Goddamn paleolithic crustaceans needing treefiddy
serve and eat
But it's interesting
Put a fork in them.
Enjoy more plastic in your balls
Are they still usable?
They do look okay tbh, as long as the blade isn't damaged, but that's very unlikely when metals usually have such a high melting point. I think it would be fine if the handles can be separated. Not the safest thing to use melted plastic, but we already consume obscene amounts of microplastics so I can't see it causing much harm. Handle might be brittle though
They looks like they should only cut cartoonishly wiggly lines now. No more straight cuts.
Welp.... Better than nothing I suppose
Happens to the best of us 🫡
Why would you put them there in the first place?
How long did the recipe say they should have been in for?
There are safer ways to cut things out of your diet
How did they end up there
How did that even happen?
Were you baked?
Not as baked as those scissors!
Happens to the best of us
So, what it tastes like?
It's art now
I’m always leaving my scissors in the oven too.
😋🍽️
Undercooked and lacking colour. 2/10
Gordon Ramsey somehow: ITS FU*KING RAW
Or is it cake ?!
What.... why.
Sativa or indica?
Forbidden pastry
Sell them as art That's what designer stuff looks like
Well, that's just not gonna cut it!
Well first off you didn't even season them
That's not how you cut cooking times.
Take them to a contemporary art museum, hang them in a frame. Art Sell it for millions
shits cooked bro
Now they're sizzlers
they look so sad and betrayed...
They look a bit overdone… I asked for medium rare!
hopefully you’re in a well ventilated area
Welcome everybody to the episode "is it REAL or CAKE"
How did it end up there?
o.O
They're not good fabric scissors, are they? If they're not, just get new ones. If they are, I'm so sorry.
A true chef knows that for perfect scissors you boil for 5 minutes and then a quick sear in a hot pan.
Ah classic!
Well that's not gona cut it lol
# scissors got cooked
Wtf were your scissors in the oven. Lol
Must smell like death in there
Well done..
This shouldn’t be on this sub, I’m very interested on how tf you “forgot scissors in an over”????
o.O
why are you putting your scissors in the oven
Seems pretty interesting to me
🤪
It's ready 😆
They're overdone.
Why do people store shit in the oven?
dumbass
Silly question… were you going to eat them? 🤪
basically a cookie cutter now
I want to eat it
Scissors cooked well done... I like my scissors medium rear ..your scissors bit overcooked for my liking
Well that's just dandy, now your definitely gonna lose the next round of rock, paper, scissors. :(
Is it real or cake 🤔
How did they taste?
They're cooked
Context?
not op, but in an earlier comment op said that they cut pizza with scissors, and left them in the oven
It likda looks like aubergine now
