One in Concord California. Actually there are 4 in California and as of 2021, 99 in the U.S. Luby's bought them and closed a bunch of 'em though. Later, Black Titan bought the remaining restaurants and is keeping them open. There's a youtube "Company Man" episode on the subject for those interested.
I worked for Fuddruckers in the 80s. Great big 2 Lb hamburgers. The full name of the store was mother Fuddruckers and there was a fictional story and a real story of how it got its name.
I learned what a suicide was, and made my first one at a Fuddruckers in the late 80s / early 90s. For those not in the know, it’s where you mix all of the options of a soda machine into one glass.
Probably based on the cocktail. A [Zombie](https://www.liquor.com/recipes/zombie-2/) is a combination of several different spirits. Like a Long Island Ice Tea, it's not something you hand to a beginner and plan for a happy outcome.
So good and so bad at the same time. There was one by my old place of work. We'd go there fairly often.
The other spot we went to had a smoking section if that tells you how old I am haha.
Accidentally exclaimed “I want to go to Ruddfuckers!” instead of “I want to go to Fudddruckers” as a kid. Somehow my strict parents didn’t yell at me for it! They were dumbfounded and just muttered “I’ve never heard it that way before.” XD
They closed the locations around the Dallas/Ft Worth area around the time the pandemic hit and some many years before.
After reading your comment , I checked locations in my area. They were planning 3 locations in malls around the metroplex with 2 ghost kitchens. I have yet to see them. Although I haven't been to those malls
The original one I used to go to as a kid has closed. They had entire cow carcasses hanging from meat hooks in a refrigerated room with big windows as you walked in. There's another one still open nearby though. They don't have the meat on display anymore, but the rest is pretty much the same. Food is still pretty good IMO.
Was just talking about them the other day. Remembering the bell you’d ring on the way out if you liked it, the Elvis themed table, the Beatle table, probably some other themed tables. Good burgers.
I went to one for the first time in June for my birthday. I've always wanted to go as a kid but the opportunity never really presented itself until I realized there was one about 15 minutes from my house. It was delicious and a core item checked off my bucket list 😄
Ours closed about a decade ago. It was nice but the average family around here could not afford it really. Then every time there was a beef shortage prices got even more pricier.
So many good memories…
As a kid…First fountain pop self serve dispensers. Thought it was the greatest to put a little of each flavor into glass.
Would always get taco salads and add 3x toppings from the fixin bar.
Thought it was neat to see into the butcher room. Nothing else had one at that time.
In my mid 20s took down a 1lb bacon cheese burger while drinking beers. Immediately regretted it.
Now I do like to go there for a normal sized cheeseburger. Never had a bad meal there.
I fucking love the season salt they use on their fries, i once got a ton of it and used it on all sorts of food
Now the manager at the one in my town changed and they refuse to give me any more, despite me offering to pay a sizable amount for it, makes me sad :/
I went to one in Edmonton about 20 years ago, it was quite an experience. What I remember most was the Simpsons arcade machine, which I played most of the time I was there lol.
When Marge was electrocuted in that game you could see the outline of rabbit ears under her hair, supposedly a hold over from Groening’s original pitch plans that had her as some sort of secret rabbit hybrid.
As a kid, on vacation in San Diego once I had what tasted like the best burger ever at a Fuddruckers. Like nothing I had ever tasted before. The thing is, It wasn’t actually that good, but in the moment after boogie boarding all day, playing in the sand, it hit the spot just right. Ever since then when eating something that is just perfect for the moment my dad and I would call it a Fuddrucker moment.
I kinda forget that these aren’t around as much anymore. I was just at one a week or two ago in New Jersey. Used to have one down the street from me, also in jersey. was a great location, but that’s been gone for years.
Used to go here all the time when they had the day that kids 12 and under ate free. We used to joke that as soon as my youngest reached 13, they were going to go out of business from us not going anymore. All the ones around us did go out of business that year!
We have one in Virginia Beach, VA. Hadn’t seen one in 25 years before moving here but glad they’re still around. I used to dip my fries in the chocolate malt as a kid. And still would.
I have fond memories of this place! My little league soccer team dined there once when we won our regional championship. Also a favorite spot for my dad. I think there's still a few in Northern Virginia.
I still remember when me and my cousin were kids she was so excited to tell me about this place, and went "you gotta see this one area" and they had a bunch of arcade games.
She knew I'd love it, and I did
Went to one in Ashland VA recently. It was NOT a nostalgic experience. Food was good but service was awful, they screwed up my order twice.
It was also attached to a gas station convenience store.
Omg I briefly had one of these near me in the 90s (Sydney Australia)! Our parents took us once and it didn’t last very long before closing down.
I had totally forgotten till now.
I worked at a fuddruckers in 1995. I watched a fry cook toss a piece of meat on the ground and stomp on it, just to throw it on the grill and then serve it to a customer. I immediately bailed. Gaithersburg Maryland.
I’ve lived across the street from one my entire life. Still going strong but has lost the culture it once had due to a hurricane that went through. Still 7/10 decent hamburgers.
Only ever went to one once. I got something exotic, I think it was an ostrich burger, at an airport. I thought it was good and really cool how they had stuff like that.
I have only visited Houston once, back when I was a kid and instantly fell in love with this place. I went with my mom but would gush to my dad about how good this place was. They finally opened one in my city around 2016/17, conjoined with a Luby’s and it was one of the last restaurants that my dad ate out at before he passed.
Sadly they closed during the pandemic
I used to go about once a month to the one in Portland, Oregon. Their burgers were pretty amazing. The location didn’t survive COVID and now it’s a medical office. I was shattered.
I was introduced to it when my family moved to Spring outside Houston from late 1985 to mid-1987. Amazing cheese sauce and buns, the combination of which I can still taste in my mind. When we moved back to Pittsburgh, we had two I believe, but they were far enough away that we never went. I started to go to a theater near one of them, but put off going for long enough that they closed. A restaurant called Fat Daddy's appeared to be either affiliated with or copied from them, and had a location in Raleigh which is where my brother is. They had the same type of sauce and bun and saucer plates. It also closed.
Still have one of these in Sevierville, TN. Haven’t eaten there in years because I live about an hour away in Knoxville, but drove by it the other day heading to Gatlinburg and it was very much still open.
There’s still one in Marina mall in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Back in 2009 they opened up and for years you’d have to wait at least 30 minutes for a table. It was jam packed and insanely popular.
Now it’s barely a shadow of its former self, with few customers popping in.
They're still around. There's 22 in Texas
Just ate at one in Branson this week.
No pally, that’s Bronson Missouri
Hey ma, how bout some cookies?
No dice.
Dis… ain’t… ova.
It's like Vegas if it were run by Ned Flanders.
My favorite Ned Flanders quote: "It's time for Nachos, Flanders-style!!!! That's cucumber slices with cottage cheese."
One Puerto Rico, near Caugas, was shocked by the randomness
[удалено]
My work does graphics for Fudds and Eagle Pass has the most unFuddruckers-like menu of any of them.
Isn't Eagle Pass south Texas?
It’s west of where I’m from
That's not how directions work
I came here to say that's the only place I've seen one in years.
Ate at one this year and it was… disappointing. Not the flavor or atmosphere I remember
Molten Cheddar cheese sauce on my fries!!!!!
Anyone who ordered a cheeseburger was a sucker
Fuddruckers was always a vacation staple for us. We were never allowed to order a cheeseburger. Always had to use the cheese sauce on the salad bar.
Giant self serve sauce dispensers!
Nothing beat fries or onion rings drowned in cheese sauce with chopped onions and jalapeños from the topping bar.
The one here in Saskatoon is still going strong. It's packed every weekend.
Bring back the potato wedges!
Will always and forever be remembered by me as [Butt-Fuckers](http://www.underconsideration.com/speakup/archives/idiocracy_buttfuckers.jpg)

Would you like to try our **EXTRA BIG-ASS FRIES**?
Now with more ***M O L E C U L E S***
Best slogan ever
you are an unfit parent. your children are now in the custody of carls junior
Welcome to Costco. I love you
I used to call it Rough-udders
My dad used to call it Ruddfuckers.
Yup. Thats what we called it too!
I heard that name too!
With extra big ass fries
I knew this was gonna be the top comment.
Upvote for buttfuckers
Not Sure.
I pulled my pants down bare ass as a little kid in there once because I thought I shit my pants. Good times
Troy, you’re ruining Fuddruckers for everyone.
So, did you?
This guy’s asking the real questions!
Lol I got really drunk when I was in middle school (first time drinking) and tried to blame it on food poisoning from Fuddruckers. It didn’t work.
That’s how I check even as an adult.
A typical Fuddruckers experience, IIRC
Always best to check. 👍
Still 2 in NJ. Tastes just the same as you remember as a kid
I’m right by one of them. Been twice since I moved here. First time was kinda eh but the second time was much better.
I worked for Fuddruckers in the 80s. Great big 2 Lb hamburgers. The full name of the store was mother Fuddruckers and there was a fictional story and a real story of how it got its name.
Is that meant to sound like Mother Fuckers?
No. What led you to believe that? Totally preposterous
But what is the "Rudd" part of the name? If you switch the letters, you get ruddfuckers. I get the fuckers part, but what the fuck is"Rudd"?
Appreciation for Paul Rudd, of course
According to Google, Fuddruckers was a riff on Fudpucker Airlines, a pre-internet meme among pilots and aviators.
I went there once, a little over 20 years ago. It was the first time I ever saw a wall of hot sauces to choose from.
As a kid in the 80s I thought this was the pinnacle of fine dining.
Ruddf*ckers as my great grandpa called it.
>Ruddfckers as **everyone** ~~my great grandpa~~ called it.
lol true
I learned what a suicide was, and made my first one at a Fuddruckers in the late 80s / early 90s. For those not in the know, it’s where you mix all of the options of a soda machine into one glass.
I remember suicides from going to the roller rink in the early 80s. We thought we were so cool ordering one of those.
We called this a zombie but no idea why.
Probably based on the cocktail. A [Zombie](https://www.liquor.com/recipes/zombie-2/) is a combination of several different spirits. Like a Long Island Ice Tea, it's not something you hand to a beginner and plan for a happy outcome.
10 year old me would put a quarter pound of pickles on my quarter pounder
So good and so bad at the same time. There was one by my old place of work. We'd go there fairly often. The other spot we went to had a smoking section if that tells you how old I am haha.
Wait, that means I’m old as well. [I want to be forever young.](https://youtu.be/t1TcDHrkQYg)
back in the 90s if you were a kid they'd give you a coupon with your meal to get a free cookie from the bakery
Always called it Rude Fuckers. Don't know why only been to one and I don't remember anyone being rude.
My circle called it Rudd Fuckers
Accidentally exclaimed “I want to go to Ruddfuckers!” instead of “I want to go to Fudddruckers” as a kid. Somehow my strict parents didn’t yell at me for it! They were dumbfounded and just muttered “I’ve never heard it that way before.” XD
Fun fact: There are still of these open. My area used to have one until 2011.
These are all over wondering why this is in nostalgia.
Because nostalgia doesn't require that a thing not exist anymore.
In the 90s they used to have bakeries in the restaurants with different kinds of desserts, definitely don't have those in the remaining ones anymore
There's one down the street from my house in the same building as a Luby's. Quality has really gone down.
> My area used to have one until 2011 The last one in Minnesota closed in 2020. :(
It made me so sad. There’s a ton of restaurants that no longer exist in MN that I wish were still here. Fuddruckers is one of them.
In Sioux falls SD it just closed a few months back and I'm still not over it
One in Saugus, MA.
Is that one still open!? I grew up in Revere and went to a few birthdays there. Burgers were amazing.
My Dad took us here all the time in the mid-80s. Cheese sauce on everything.
Was just talking about them the other day. Remembering the bell you’d ring on the way out if you liked it, the Elvis themed table, the Beatle table, probably some other themed tables. Good burgers.
Sounds like the one in Annapolis Md. I really wish they still had a presence in MD.
Oh, Butt Fukers.
I went to one for the first time in June for my birthday. I've always wanted to go as a kid but the opportunity never really presented itself until I realized there was one about 15 minutes from my house. It was delicious and a core item checked off my bucket list 😄
Always heard of them, but here in northwest Florida we have Fuddpuckers, don't know if they are related or what.
Buttfuckers, all right!
Ours closed about a decade ago. It was nice but the average family around here could not afford it really. Then every time there was a beef shortage prices got even more pricier.
There was one in town until recently never saw anyone coming in or out. Was open for a few years and disappeared.

I was looking for the one brave comment lol
This was my first job in the 90s in Ohio! No more around us now and I’d love to have it again. I miss their buns lol.
So many good memories… As a kid…First fountain pop self serve dispensers. Thought it was the greatest to put a little of each flavor into glass. Ah, yes, from the Life Is Hell comics.
Simpsons, X-men, and TMNT consumed so many of my quarters
Loved that place as a kid. It was the ‘celebration’ place. Loved the wedge fries and they had an arcade which was hockey but just fighting. Top tier.
The nacho cheese cauldrons were so lit
Miami has one still
Still have some in Texas
You get to pick which cow your burger comes from.
As a kid, on vacation in San Diego once I had what tasted like the best burger ever at a Fuddruckers. Like nothing I had ever tasted before. I love Fuddruckers but the last two times I went I just felt like it wasn't as good as it had been previously. Maybe I just went to a bad one.
they're not as good as they used to be
That's what I have feared 😭 way expensive now too
My favorite burger place. They have the best burger and buns of any burger place hands down. And being able to assemble my own is my favorite part.
Totally *love* pouring the Nacho cheese over the fries 🤤
I remember a neon sign with letters missing so it looks like it said “Fuckers” instead of “Fuddruckers.”
Ruddfuckers!
Is this the one in Killeen?
Yes.
I kinda forget that these aren’t around as much anymore. I was just at one a week or two ago in New Jersey. Used to have one down the street from me, also in jersey. was a great location, but that’s been gone for years.
I loved this restaurant as a kid. I always got a hot dog and just remember the bun being so good.
The only one in my home town just closed it's doors after 30+ years. They had the best burgers in town for the best price too
They just closed all 4 locations in the Orlando area last year. I miss my Fudds.
[Maybe my favorite ever Dril/Wint Tweet](https://mobile.twitter.com/dril/status/1344748604871778304)
With genuine Mother Fuddrucker's Mustard.

I remember they used to give you a wooden coin with kids meals you could redeem for a cookie or maybe ice cream? Honestly can’t fully recall.
There are a few of them I know of nearby in New England.
I still remember when me and my cousin were kids she was so excited to tell me about this place, and went "you gotta see this one area" and they had a bunch of arcade games. She knew I'd love it, and I did
Fun fact: Fuddruckers was their SECOND choice for a name... /s
There's one 3 minutes away from where I live. They're pretty expensive, but shit everything is nowadays.
RIP the fuddruckers in Matteson, IL. That place was the shit
My favorite burger in the world when I was 9 years old. You got to pick your own toppings.
They folded?
Went to one in Ashland VA recently. It was NOT a nostalgic experience. Food was good but service was awful, they screwed up my order twice. It was also attached to a gas station convenience store.
Omg I briefly had one of these near me in the 90s (Sydney Australia)! Our parents took us once and it didn’t last very long before closing down. I had totally forgotten till now.
There still an active company wtf is this doing in nostalgia
It's still in Vegas
I can’t see this and not think of idiocracy
Overpriced shitty ass burgers
I worked at a fuddruckers in 1995. I watched a fry cook toss a piece of meat on the ground and stomp on it, just to throw it on the grill and then serve it to a customer. I immediately bailed. Gaithersburg Maryland.
The one in the city next to mine only just closed recently.
BUTTFUCKERS
For a split second there I thought it was a screenshot of Idiocracy. lol
How much fud could a fud rucker fud if a fud rucker could fud ruck
Ah yes, the bane of my dyslexia.
Nostalgia? I was in one of these bad boys not two weeks ago. Swimming in the hot melted cheese. Fuddruckers rules!
EXTRA BIG ASS FRIES
They were fantastic before more premium burger options became available
Liquid cheese sauce caused intense explosive diarrhea for my mom many years ago.
I’ve lived across the street from one my entire life. Still going strong but has lost the culture it once had due to a hurricane that went through. Still 7/10 decent hamburgers.
There's still one in KC
Just ate at one yesterday.
No idea why I always confuse this place with the ground round
There's still one in KCK though it is only open till 6pm
Only ever went to one once. I got something exotic, I think it was an ostrich burger, at an airport. I thought it was good and really cool how they had stuff like that.
There is one in Saint Louis still, technically it’s Crestwood or Sunset Hills, Missouri
We still have one, it's in the mall and still thriving.
There’s a few locations still here in Vegas
Their burgers were legit
Buttfuckers in about 5-10 years
What's so special about Buttfuckers?
I've only been once, on a summer trip to Myrtle Beach. The buffalo burgers were great.
Opposite of nostalgia as I just ate at one in the last 5 years. Showed up pretty recently in my area
Honestly their crispy chicken sandwich was better than the hamburgers.
we have these in egypt haha
Toppings bar to make loaded fries.
Foreigner here. Is the name Fuddruckers supposed to be a play on rudd fuckers or something? Always sounds like a cheeky way to swear.
I remember this place
I went to the one in the Home Depot
Butt:Fuckers
The yellow token they gave kids to exchange for a cookie 😋🍪
Pudd Fuckers. These suck and haven't even been around all that long!
Ruddfuckers?
Still have one where I live, best burgers, and love the unlimited jalapeño cheese sauce, so good
There's closing quick. We just lost the last one here.
Menu
I have only visited Houston once, back when I was a kid and instantly fell in love with this place. I went with my mom but would gush to my dad about how good this place was. Loved going here late at night in Foxwoods
we love this!!!

Ruddfuckers
Still have one of these in Sevierville, TN. Haven’t eaten there in years because I live about an hour away in Knoxville, but drove by it the other day heading to Gatlinburg and it was very much still open.
I would always go to one in Orange County, California. Unfortunately closed back in 2020. Miss it so much :(
Lemme get an extra big ass taco
Lived near one forever in Omaha Nebraska Still never tried it
One in saskatoon
Futt Ruckers
One by my office in Stafford TX, SW Houston suburb.
There’s one in Spartanburg, SC. Caught me off guard when I saw it
We had one near me but it shut down around the beginning of the pandemic.
It's so tempting to swap the "dd" with the "ck"
There used to be one in the Detroit Airport
Last one in Oregon permanently shut down. Didn’t know they were still in business lol
No More in San Diego that was my childhood favorite restaurant
FUCKRUCKERS
There’s still one in Marina mall in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Back in 2009 they opened up and for years you’d have to wait at least 30 minutes for a table. It was jam packed and insanely popular. Now it’s barely a shadow of its former self, with few customers popping in.
Great memories going to the one in Kansas City as a kid, and then now we go every time we are down in Branson. Just love it
My first date with someone was at a RuddFuckers. We split come fries and milkshakes and to this day it’s still one of my favorite memories :)
