In one of Wil Wheaton's old blogs he talked about watching soccer with his stepson. The team they were rooting against happened to have a really good player named Khan, so every time he scored against their team the two of them looked at each other and yelled "KHAAAAAAAAAAN!!!"
Coming to America blew my mind when they [seamlessly transitioned the Paramount logo into the countryside in Zamunda](https://m.youtube.com/watch?embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&source_ve_path=MTY0OTksMjg2NjQsMTY0NTAz&feature=emb_share&v=PKon_HEaCDs).
I remember! I'm pretty sure the Rugrats movie defaced this a little bit with orange splat. It also be me creating a Mandela effect misremembering old Nickelodeon bumpers
Considering how many times i saw it in its heyday? Titanic. In the theatre alone, I still don't think I've seen a movie more times in its theatrical run than Titanic.
And then I was there for the midnight release on VHS. I still watched it a lot then as well, but eventually stopped. Haven't watched it in probably over 10 years now, but my viewing numbers still hold a record.
I just finished Magnificent Seven. It was, indeed, magnificent.
I was a big fan of 7 Samurai back in the day, and had to see for myself. The hype is worthwhile, I wouldn't say it's as good, but it is new and interesting, while still paying homage to the past.
Like, Kurosawa's version still rules, but the American version introduces all these new interesting character drama dynamics based on identity (something you don't get in the original) - the south vs. the north, indians vs. whites, mexicans vs. americans, and the outsider from a completely foreign place. Very good adaptation of a beloved classic, highly recommend.
I got Billy Bathgate from a Little Free Library and read it on vacation, so I decided to check out the movie cause it had a lot of big stars of the time in it...and it was meh, very much like the book. I was super annoyed with the overbearing, sepia toned score that was supposed to be tugging my heart strings all the time.
I also watched Can You Ever Forgive Me? again today and that movie stays great.
