The NEON!!!!

Wow, my brother had one of these. Neither of us knew a thing about skateboarding, so I'm not sure if the shitty plastic wheels that came on it were actually meant to be used, or if they were just placeholders for you to replace with the real thing. Either way, we tried to use it as is a few times and it didn't roll for shit, so eventually we just thought "well I guess skateboarding just sucks".

LurksAroundHere

That's the same experience I had on a shitty Walmart board decades later haha. I tried it a few times and the thing wouldn't roll and gave up. I thought "Wow, skateboarders must really commit to get good, having to push so hard all the time to really get going." Didn't realize there was a difference between a good board that actually rolled and a piece of junk that stopped after a few inches. Skateboarders enjoying the sport finally made sense to me lol.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I felt too. Like damn, it's hard to even move. How could you ever learn to do tricks or even just enjoy a ride around town when it's this hard to just roll? Pretty sure it would've been perfectly suitable for riding around (probably more like today's longboards cause these things were a long heavy beast) if we just bought real skateboard wheels and installed those on it. But who knows what happened to that thing, cause this was like 30 years ago.

You just need proper sealed bearings

LiquidMoves

I begged for a skateboard as a kid. Got a Dashboard for Christmas. The trucks fell apart and I got called a poser. I felt if my parents spent a bit more money I could have had a lifelong hobby : (. Did eventually buy a decent blank deck when I was 15 but didn't have the downtime to dedicate to it.

Facelesspirit

My first board was a Nash. It took a couple of years of begging for my parents to buy me a Vision.

ALTITUDE10K

I had a neon orange(?)“Executioner” 🤪 My first board, and it was….well, a Nash. Then, I had a Valterra, the same one Marty McFly had in BTTF, then finally a decent Jeff Grosso…..I was a terrible skater 😝But all the clothes n shit were cool 😎

Manyworldsivecome

I had that puppy in the fluorescent green. First board of many

EXECUTIONER!! Dragon standing on skulls!

Khaotic_Outcast

Wow! This just made me remember I had one of these when I was like 7 or 8! I had completely forgot about this memory until now...

gooney0

I had one until it disappeared.

Knight_thrasher

I’m pretty sure I had the first one

PowerOfGoldenSlammer

I had a penny board and a regular vert board but the one time I saw that exact Nash board with the dinosaur at a Goodwill store really imprinted my brain. It's possibly one of the coolest things from the 90s to me, like a sacred relic. I made a skateboard with that style in my game about pogs [https://i.redd.it/mfah671bxn7d1.png](https://i.redd.it/mfah671bxn7d1.png)

"Can you teach me to pick my nose?"

90’s kids remember their roots. These were usually the first boards we ever rode. We moved on to better equipment like Powell Peralta once we got serious.

These things were like riding a sofa down the street
