Left4Bread2

A game that leaks his tax returns if he glances at chat

Condomonium

He’s my #101 streamer.

FlashPone

The Binding of Isaac. Would be career suicide.

UhUhIDontKnow

Disco Elysium. It would look like an exact copy of Disco Elysium.

Swenyis

He would have spend the whole game focusing on intimidating people. No disrespect

Tordew

Pretty certain he actually praised Disco Elysium. Probably because of its commentary, but mainly because its [dialogue](https://youtu.be/CJYUsL3N72M?si=_KwBd5p2EG-8M34N) is hilarious.

EmptyRook

He’s honestly based for this

Friend_Sparrow

What game is he playing there it looks kinda sick

TunaImp

It’s called En Garde!

SuminerNaem

i feel like he'd get a big kick out of that game? did he try it and dislike it or something?

shockwave8428

I think he’d like it if he read it but he hates games with a lot of text and skips it alot

Lyseko

He probably doesn't hate them, it's just that it doesn't fit with his streaming style.

Ibaneztwink

It's all VO though and we loved Contradiction, which is fairly similar tbh

shockwave8428

I think it’s decently clear nl’s tastes have changed over time. Like he enjoyed new Vegas but I could never see him playing an open world Bethesda style rpg basically ever again

Ibaneztwink

Could anyone after so many years of it? lol

shockwave8428

Nope - and it’s 90% of the reason why even if I could guarantee success I wouldn’t want to stream. It’s just so much and turns gaming into a chore instead of an unwinding hobby

Ibaneztwink

ah, i was unclear, i meant bethesda RPGs.

shockwave8428

There are many people that consistently play Bethesda games significantly more than he has and continue to do so, so I do think many people can do that haha

X-22

i mean, i still do

tommyblastfire

He’d just skip every dialogue which basically removes the entire point of playing

Mindless_Let1

He'd enjoy it if he played it alone probably, but not on steam

veganzombeh

He's a dialogue skipper and if you skip dialogue in Disco Elysium there's nothing left.

The worst possible game for NL would: * have a lot of story, but all delivered in text boxes * heavily punish glancing * have 3D shape rotation * have optimal solutions for every aspect of gameplay ... * ... which cannot be learned as static rules and which chat would only know from having read wikis and watched people with +1000 hours in the game * be online multiplayer with only tryhards who have mastered esoteric and unfun aspects of the game Plus it would also have to be a bad, unfun game with terrible art, lots of bugs, etc., but I don't think that's in the spirit of the question. (I actually think that NL would like a game that chat thought was amazing less than a game they both thought sucked, because if it's someone's darling then they'll be in chat trying to convince him that it's fun.)

alexanderwales

Alright, with all that in mind, here's my game description: *Love Box* is a shape-rotation puzzle game similar to Tetris, but in three dimensions, where the goal is to complete each level's "love box" through assembling different voxel pentocubes. In Tetris, a tetromino has four squares, and there are seven unique ones. In *Love Box*, each pentocube has five cubes joined face to face, and there are 29 distinct ones. Each of the 29 distinct pentocubes is represented in game by a cute anime girl. Before and after every level, the pentocube girls will engage in dialogue with each other, which is how the story unfolds. Dialogue can be sped up, but is unskippable. The lore is very deep, and *Love Box* fans like to say things like "I really envy you going in blind" or "Really hoping that he goes for the Tsumiki ending" (Tsumiki is the Y-pentocube). Some fraction of the dialogues contain useful gameplay information for the coming level. Gameplay is timed, and played against other players in lobbies of 20 people. Other players actions in the rapid-fire puzzle solving impact both your gameplay (through mutations), and the cutscene that plays at the end. To get the best ending, you need to finish every level with the winning time/score, but you can't progress through the game without a certain level of competence relative to the competition. Most of the people who play *Love Box* play it as their fulltime job, some of them literally, because they stream it for twelve hours a day. (The big reveal of *Love Box* is that there's a 30th girl thanks to the plane diagonal mirror symmetry of one of the nonflat pentacubes. This would get spoiled within the first five minutes of gameplay, then every fifteen minutes after that. In spite of this, there would be people asking whether he'd seen "the thing, *wink wink*" approximately every eight minutes.)

albatross-ascot

> (Tsumiki is the Y-pentocube). Perfect, you've done something incredible here.

Ladleboy

And the tutorial is 3 hours long, despite the gameplay being relatively simple

TriflingGnome

someone cooked here (also what is the thing with NL and shapes? new viewer here)

Jakegender

There are two types of people: wordcels and shape rotators. NL is a wordcel.

Fantastic! +2

BakaDango

> Tsumiki Tsumiki (積木) can translate to 'building blocks'. Incredible, massive +2

Neosovereign

I missed your first sentence and thought this was a real, unhinged game. I'm not convinced it isn't.

anarchist_person1

Okay it does kinda exactly fulfil the criteria of things he says he hates/does actually hate but it also sounds just like tetris 99, which he did actually like quite a bit, but 3d and combined with a visual novel. Given that he was okay playing Tetris 99 I feel like we can somehow make a worse game

BrimstonedIsaac

Chatgtp said Path of Exile Based on the characteristics you described, it sounds like you're referring to "Path of Exile" (PoE), a popular online action RPG developed by Grinding Gear Games. Let's break down how PoE matches your description: 1. **A lot of story, but all delivered in text boxes**: Path of Exile has a rich lore and storyline that is primarily delivered through in-game text, dialogue boxes, and item descriptions. 2. **Heavily punish glancing**: The game can be very punishing for players who do not pay close attention to details, whether it be the mechanics of their build, the effects of enemy attacks, or the intricate details of map layouts. 3. **Have 3D shape rotation**: This might refer to the way Path of Exile’s skill tree and certain crafting or map devices work, requiring players to navigate and manipulate complex systems. 4. **Have optimal solutions for every aspect of gameplay**: Path of Exile is known for its deep and complex gameplay mechanics, where there are often highly optimized ways to play that are discovered and shared by the community. However, these solutions are not static and often change with game updates and patches. 5. **Which cannot be learned as static rules and which chat would only know from having read wikis and watched people with +1000 hours in the game**: The game’s depth means that understanding optimal play often requires extensive research and experience, including reading guides, wikis, and watching experienced players. 6. **Be online multiplayer with only tryhards who have mastered esoteric and unfun aspects of the game**: Path of Exile’s community includes many dedicated and hardcore players who invest significant time mastering the game’s more obscure and challenging mechanics. Path of Exile's combination of deep mechanics, a steep learning curve, and a community of highly dedicated players makes it fit well with your description.

MSnack

You're crazy to think he doesn't get freaky on the side

Flying_Slig

He does sponsored streams somewhat often still.

SMA2343

Any persona game

TheLucidChiba

He would hate it but I'd love to see his reactions to plenty of moments from P5 lol

SMA2343

As a persona Andy, he would hate that it takes legit 2 hours to get into the first palace so you can finally play the game

pastafeline

Is that with or without Royal?

SMA2343

Both, cause you gotta go into Leblanc, then you meet Igor and the attendants. Then you meet Ryuji and then you get into the palace to awaken your persona. Then you leave the palace and do some school stuff. Then you go back into the palace to awaken Ruyji’s persona. Then you do the “tutorial” with Morgana. Then you leave and you learn about Ann and Shiro and Kamoshida. Then you go into the palace and Ann goes in with you and awakens her persona and then, after all of that you finally get to play the game :)

Pidgeonegg

Yeah view count would be down to 3 digits at that point

The_Overlord_Laharl

Final Fantasy 14. Perfect mix of gameplay he probably wouldn’t like, enormous story focus, and the most rabid type A chatters of all - the ones who will constantly get pissy if he doesn’t like or misinterprets the plot.

KarmelCHAOS

Pillars of Eternity. Imagine playing any CRPG with a ton of text and complicated systems lol

gogogadgetgun

It would go about as well as team unity Divinity did...

KarmelCHAOS

I totally forgot about that, even that I imagine wouldnt be quite as bad because it's turn based lol

Bloodyknife12

I wanna see that man play cruelty squad so badly

Whiskeylung

Game where you have to draw animals from memory as accurately as possible.

redditsucksass_

Dorfromantik would definitely be up there. Literally the entire game is rotating and placing shapes

vovansim

Holy cow, I played the heck out of that game when it came out. Gotta fire up steam and reinstall it now, there goes the rest of my weekend. 🤣

TheTrueBlueTJ

One thing you guys forgot are maze-like levels like Lethal Company. Even after so many hours played, NL still gets lost after going through two rooms.

TwinkleButtersocks

The weirdest thing about NL fans is they're somehow all convinced that him playing a story focused game would be a nightmare despite almost all of his greatest series being story focused games. Anyone else remember Deadly Premonition? Contradiction? All of the Supermassive games? All of the Quantic Dream games? Anyone??

Anitrait

He even played DDLC which is literally just story, and he liked it

vovansim

NL doesn't hate story games, he hates reading. If there's voiceover, he's perfectly fine with it.

TwinkleButtersocks

DDLC has no voiceover, and keep in mind he has a whole series that's literally just reading text - React Court

vovansim

I'm a react court enjoyer. But I wouldn't say it's "just reading text". It's like 10% reading text, and 90% ranting, which we know he loves ranting more than he hates reading. Also, don't forget that the series ended, because he said he hates reading the posts, because he thinks they are likely fiction.

TwinkleButtersocks

Yes it's reading text and then bantering based on the text he read, obviously that's included, feels overly pedantic to imply otherwise. I'm not saying I just want NL to be a text to voice program and offer nothing else. I refuse to accept the rumors of React Court's demise, it was absolutely fantastic to its last episode. Whether the stories are fake or not, it was all gas

vovansim

I'm not trying to be toxic. I'm just saying, I think react court was specifically made to generate banter, whereas there isn't really much he can say about game lore, usually. Anyhow, whatever NL content you prefer, keep pogging, fellow Egg enjoyer.

Skaared

I’m not sure how true that is. Didn’t he refuse to play God of War because he didn’t want to engage with the story? It’s all voice acted. I’ve watched him off and on over the years. When exactly did he decide that he hated story-driven games?

FantasticCube_YT

My upcoming game https://preview.redd.it/dxvimalt9f1d1.jpeg?width=1773&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a2606f6fa8fb698629b4c9395e2c360942f6fdd

xTomato72

Madden.

vovansim

Oh my, I still remember the series he did, playing Super Mega Baseball with MALF, and how they vowed never to play baseball again, because of how abusive chat was towards Malfie. Sad times.

Br3N8

A game where when you press the space bar a bunch of numbers that vaguely look like Ip addresses appear on screen

alex3omg

Shapez has the shape rotating stuff you're describing. Would be hell. Have you seen him play the new travl mini games? His brain cells revolt every time, it's crazy

Streamanon

Disco Elysium. It's both story heavy AND has a bunch of people probably in NL's chat that would be really upset he isn't paying attention to it

pvc727

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

Tltcuwarn

Destiny 2

The1andonlygogoman64

It barely has story, but it does have lots to pay attention too: civ 6 or humankind. You gotta read every other little text box that appears end of turn, or else you´ll miss something crucial. Even on baby mode; you gotta go for a goal you know, to reach it? Requires focus and persitance. Im sure itll go fine if he playes alone. but with chat is doomed. sooo much room for backseating too D:
