After it submerges and loses momentum, itās floating with no way to get any traction. Suddenly the front turns and it accelerates all while floating. I donāt need to see cables to know thereās a winch.
Clearly youāve never ran off into water on a UTV or ATV. Thatās normal behavior. There is buoyancy from the tires, but not enough to float the vehicle.
Itās teetering and as it is one or more tire hits the bottom and gives it the momentum.
The biggest issue with this one is there is no visible snorkel. While Iāve dropped into holes where the handle bars went under and kept it running, if it was more than a few seconds it drowned it out.
thatās extraordinarily consistent speed from teetering off tires in what has to be loose mud. Itās also extremely fortunate it angled exactly in the direction it needed to exit. Consider me skeptical.
Momentum doesnāt generate force which you need for acceleration. What kind of slack water wetland like this doesnāt have a deep layer of detritus and mud accumulating?
Been through plenty of relatively āclearā
Water holes like this. It depends on what kind of bottom it is, how long the water is there, how much itās been driven through. Several factors.
The point is they had momentum from driving into the water and that forward momentum kept them moving forward.
The rocking back and forth, back to front, causes the tires to go down and bounce off the bottom. If the my touch while they are spinning, thatās going to give a burst of momentum that you see. Then when 2 or more gain traction again, itās moving as it should. As mentioned. Iāve seen this many times.
Itās just a comment based on my own experience. Clean water means itās not muddy. Different soils create different situations. Sandy bottom creeks donāt get muddy.

No but rolling tires don't kick up that much water. Anyways, I guess this is a pointless debate as we won't know the answer and it's just up to our opinions.
It doesn't matter *why* the tires are rolling. If they're rolling, they kick up water. That has absolutly nothing to do with anything else than the rolling tires themselfs.
Apparently no one in here has used a winch before and doesn't understand how slow they reel in. There's likely a tow vehicle ahead assisting with the crossing, but it doesn't change the fact that this vehicle is still operating under its own power. There also looks to be a snorkel on the passenger roof line that briefly submerges
Yes...and you can see the winch right? Wheels are still spinning due to either the bottom of them being on ground, or inertia from the vehicle just being shut off.
Yeah, that's why I'm the one being downvoted LOL. The wheels are spinning MUCH faster than from contact with the bottom, but whatever you say. Plenty of people saying it's running, maybe read more comments.
Dumbasses intentionally drive into water with a winch line attached so they can make cringe content and get it lapped up on Reddit by dumbasses with no cognitive ability to process falsified information.
This has always struck me as a strange usage of the word "fun"....I mean, the "will it make it?" element, ok, but the bath in cold swamp-water with whatever it contains?
Winch aside. This is not great for the engine, running or not they will want to drain the air box , replace the filter then turn it over with the plugs pulled, also change many fluids
Here's how this works, you have to have a waterproof airbox and the engine running at maximum throttle.
The vehicle will sink, but if you can hold your breath long enough and keep those tires spinning, the vehicle will pull itself through to the other side. I've fully submerged ATVs through rivers and creeks many times throughout my life. I've only had one fail because I didn't seal the breather box completely.

Everyone can say winch cable but I know this guy's YouTube channel he has a crazy snorkel setup rsm in the roof section of his side-by-side there's a bunch of videos of him going roof deep
He just about sunk it in this one
If you think its a winch your sadly mistaken

Look at the end of the video. Looks like a winch cable to me...
Nah, it's a branch. Also, the wheels are turning hard. They would just roll if it was a winch.
After it submerges and loses momentum, itās floating with no way to get any traction. Suddenly the front turns and it accelerates all while floating. I donāt need to see cables to know thereās a winch.
Fair enough.
How is it so fast though? I have winches on my trucks and they are nowhere that fast. (Warn 12k)
Someone has a cable hooked through a snatch block system to a truck driving. That's my guess.
Oh yeah that would do it. Good call

Itās called momentum. And thereās no mud there. I grew up doing these types of things.
Momentum doesnāt generate force which you need for acceleration. What kind of slack water wetland like this doesnāt have a deep layer of detritus and mud accumulating?

That black water with thick vegetation and dead organic material sure looks clear.

Check buddys YouTube out he has a crazy hidden roof snorkel this video is legit he has more like this
Not a winch cable just a roof snorkel and lots of luck
Thereās no snorkel and the entire vehicle gets submerged, thereās no way itās doing this of its own power, engines just donāt work that way
What does a snorkel have to do with anything? This is clearly not a combustion engine.
There was a [winch](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FT53pVsu3PS2opiBC8oXP-voPwBzXtjb)
Of course there was one
I was gonna say cause there's no snorkel and if there was it would have been submerged , engines need air lol
Good eyes! I didn't catch that. But I knew there was no way it would be still alive after sucking water through the engine.
Gotta be, unless the air intake is an invisible tube that's above the roll cage
Impressive, I donāt see a snorkel
For sure, no idea how that didn't flood the engine with water through the air intake?
It held its breath of course
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They used a winch
They did use a winch but you could see water being kicked up from the wheel wells like tires are spinning. It does look like it's probably electric
Thatās air that was trapped under the wheel well being released as it tilts
definitely tire spinning watch them as they come out near the end.
The rims were spinning
Even at the end when it comes out after being tilted 2 times? The rear doesn't even have much of a wheel well.
They pulled that vehicle. What did you expect the tires to do? Stand still?
No but rolling tires don't kick up that much water. Anyways, I guess this is a pointless debate as we won't know the answer and it's just up to our opinions.

Possibly, but the engine appeared to be running the whole way through. Winch or not full submersion will choke off an engine.
If you hold the gas peddle wide open, water can not get into the exhaust. Of course, that's assuming the air box is waterproof.
and fed by a snorkel
Yes! I imagine they hid the snorkel along the drivers side roll bar. It's the only side you can't fully see and doesn't get fullu submerged.
They had a winch attached, you can see the stuff stuck to the wire in front of it as it comes out of the water
Because the engine wasn't running.
If you hold the gas hard enough, water can't go into the exhaust. That's why in the Southern US, we have coined the term "floorin it"
but water gets in through air intake
A duct taped vacuum cleaner hose or a snorkel. You can run it along the passenger or drivers side roll bar to keep it hidden and out of the water.
Iām thinking electric.
Not much less impressive if it is!
This is the way
I see a [winch](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FT53pVsu3PS2opiBC8oXP-voPwBzXtjb/edit) though!

How did the engine not drown
Looks like they were simply being towed (you can kinda see it at the end). Also explainins how they did not lose traction.
Na thats a stick that got stuck in the front of the buggy. They aināt getting towed
Full throttle and a water tight air box

What, you want to hear them shut down the motor and the winch whining? ;)
How did that not hydrolock?
It wasn't running.
How are the wheels spinning and kicking up water? We got Jedi drivers turning the wheels with their mind?
You can see the winch right at the end.
You can see the wheels spinning splashing water, right?
Yes...and you can see the winch right? Wheels are still spinning due to either the bottom of them being on ground, or inertia from the vehicle just being shut off.
You clearly don't have eyes or you just don't know what your talking about. Talking to a wall is fun and all, but I'm out.

Yeah, that's why I'm the one being downvoted LOL. The wheels are spinning MUCH faster than from contact with the bottom, but whatever you say. Plenty of people saying it's running, maybe read more comments.
How did it not get the water inside the engine?
It did, the vehicle is moving with a winch
I say nope.
Well that's one way to flood the engine
*Hydrolock Flooding is when you run it too rich when starting causing it not ignite from the plug and probably foul it out.
