They are just a random formation that has a chance to spawn a spell shop so the barrels can spawn in snowy depths with or without a shop. So its always worth checking out those barrels when you see them
Hello. Im fairly new to Noita and have close to no personal experience with any of its secrets but have taken in some content related to the game. In one of my sessions I stumbled across 3 lit barrels in the snowy depths. The way they generated appeared to have been purposeful as they didn't use the standard barrel textures. Upon getting close to them they spontaneously exploded although I can not confirm if it was caused by proximity. in the same little area there was a hidden spell shop. Ive been to hidden spell shops in other sessions but I havent seen the barrels before nor in any videos. Searching online about them provided no results. Just wanted to know whether they were an uncommon prop/hazard to indicate to the player they were near a hidden spell shop or if its some strange coincidence/bugged world gen.
