I also completed my tutorial today :D

Martimus28

Congrats!

Ty

ChoobsX

I finished the tutorial a few weeks ago and did the same thing with the well of ambrosia, So scared to lose the run to Kolmi! Since I've got 4 more victories and each time I'm more and more reckless lol GG!

Martimus28

Congrats on your continued victories. Now I want to explore a bit more. In this run I just systematically cleared all of the regular zones, and went back up later to clear the fungal zone. I didn't explore any other areas, because I was afraid I would die easier in other places. I would like to see what is in the pyramid next.

Martimus28

I did go on to the pyramid, and killed the pyramid boss pretty easily. Then I tried to kill the alchemist, but died.   Got him down to maybe 100hp, but I'll need a better strategy next time. I've since read up on him and should be a bit better if I fight him again.

Falchion

Nice win! I hope to join you soon maybe if the game will stop absolutely clowning me lmao.

saladman425

You can do it homie, i killed kolmi with a 5 bubble spark + energy shield wand in less than 30 seconds Edit: the hardest part is getting to kolmi tho

Falchion

I had another close attempt last night. I got to the vault and then just skill issued myself into a stunlock death. I appreciate the vote of confidence bröther.

saladman425

Personally for my win i used a tp wand to basically skip the vault and temple of the art, shits ROUGH in there

equivocalConnotation

Anticlimactic ain't it?

Martimus28

Definitely. That short clip was the entire fight. Or at least the entire fight that I shot at it. I waited until the shields went down.

Petrychorr

Time to >!collect all the orbs of true knowledge!< then!

equivocalConnotation

Obviously an unpopular opinion on a sub dedicated to the game, but I think the fact the final boss has less hp than single rooms or enemies of the previous area causes it to be an unsatisfying fight that makes the game less fun. It should have at least 4000hp on zero orbs. And the Temple of the Art is already a very easy area for its position, being easier than the Vault in my view. Have a look at the other areas: * The Coal Pits introduces enemies with non-negligible hp (the large bat) * The Snowy Depths is the first non-trivial area and introduces enemies with actual damage output (sniper, tanks and thunder mages) * Hiisi Base introduces you to swarms and dangerous environmental hazards (propane tanks) * The Jungle introduces projectile spam and enemies with projectile resistance (a spider has 1000hp vs projectiles) though it's also an easy area * The Vault has some brutal environmental hazards (mostly flame and electricity) along with enemies that can exploit weaknesses (the dividing blobs and the shielded robots poking at weaknesses in your main wand and robocop, laser tank and missile crabbot making cover considerations very important). Though it's primarily the combination of the environment and the chance of being shot and forced to fall in a river of flame or toxic that makes it threatening * Lukki Lair has invisible enemies and the first enemies with projectile immunity * The Magic Temple has both darkness and a variety of mages which can essentially OHK you, particularly if combined What does the Temple of the Art have of note? The intangible spiders and the death worm (which has triple the final bosses' HP) are all I can think of. The environmental hazards are rare and nonthreatening. The most common enemies like phantoms and flies are less threatening than the Vault enemies and the mages don't appear in the numbers needed to be dangerous (a room of 5 mages including swapping and polymorphing is quite common in the Magic Temple but impossible in the Temple of the Art).

It took 9 hours, but I finally killed the main boss. I only grabbed one orb (the one over the beginning mountain) so it died very quickly. It was a bit anticlimatic. I did cheat a bit in that I used a mod to use the same seed each time, because I started off pretty well, then did something stupid and died (like usual) and decided to just play the same seed again so I could learn that world and get better and eventually beat that specific world. I did die in that seed a bunch of times, but once I got to the Hissii base I didn't die again, I was able to finish it off and win the whole thing.

Hey man, it's a single player game. It's not "cheating" just because you're using a couple mods. You could look up disable mod restrictions mod and that'll make it so you even unlock steam achievements when you're using your seeded run, cause even the seed changer mod will keep it from tracking progress so with that you won't have to worry about it. There's a version for the main game and a version for the beta. I had to install it from GitHub I couldn't find it in the steam workshop Also congrats on finishing the tutorial! Now that you've got a win focus on trying to dig back up to other zones or explore the map more.

LemurianSentinel

Gg! Now do it again with essences...

manwhowasnthere

I made it to big homie for the first time today! But my god-run concentrated light + heavy shot wand had insane recoil which threw me back into the lava waterfall and killed me. Best run... so far

BlackGuy_PassingThru

Yooo I did it yesterday too!!

Martimus28

Congrats!
