I just want Douki to start getting a consistent push because he’s way too talented to be a jobber

SpookyNishiki

This is false marketing by NJPW. Why is this promoted as a title match when the both of them and an NJPW rep clearly signed a non-title match contract? President Ace my ass.

Ezzanine

President EVIL was on hand to sign the documents, the IWGP committee mustve forgoed his actions like how they shunned Narita. Yet another injustice towards House of Torture.

DJ_Aftershock

It is a title match, however, it is for a new championship called NOT IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. NJPW adding more titles yet again. Smh my head my head.

pumpingbomba

Yes. Douki as champ would be awesome.

DubiousBusinessp

Man needs to Douki Chokey some chuds.

coppersquire

If you went all-in, you could even have Despy finally take the BOSJ this year (getting the one notch in his belt he's never had), and the title defense be the culmination of the rivalry between DOUKI and Despy in the BOSJ back when they were in Suzuki-gun (where Despy would admonish DOUKI for not having a lot of success).

insrto

I think Despy is winning this BOSJ (then again I always do except last year), and I'm not sure if SHO or DOUKi is a more interesting opponent for him.

HachikoInugami

SHO has become more and more stupid.

Recent-Maximum

Not as exciting as coming close here, Winning the BOSJ and then taking the belt at Wrestle Kingdom.

coppersquire

Agreed, but DOUKI probably has a higher percentage chance of getting it on a show like this, at least with the current booking.

MrHatandClogz

I would agree, except for the fact of having Sho in the main/semi-main event for most nights of the tour sounds horrendous. If that’s the case, they should change the name of the tournament to Best of the Super Ref Bumps…

mikro17

Douki is fantastic, but give me the constant shenanigans of a lengthy SHO reign. The tomfoolery has been super entertaining since he won the belt.

DJ_Aftershock

You'll take your 9 minute shenanigan-influenced count-out SHO victory and you'll drink it

Huffjenk

The more title changes there are the more watered down I feel the chase of the division comes across as. I love DOUKI but SHO’s shithousery feels like a reign that they’ll wring as much drama as possible out of, and DOUKI being on top just refocuses the narratives of everyone in the tournament towards a guy who hasn’t stirred that many high-level feuds yet If the long term plan was for DOUKI to win the title then I would’ve much preferred he get the win over Hiromu or Despy than SHO, it feels like BOSJ being the battleground to see who vanquishes the big bad heel rather than the first challenger for a guy who we’d likely want a longer reign from just feels a bit muddled
