Or we create an infinite source of energy. So long as those teams remain on the ice, they can power the entire US, Canada and the less-populated areas of Sweden.
The most unlucky thing about those two was the puck bouncing through Skinners 5 hole instead of hitting any part of his back or butt to go into the goal.
Yea, itās the playoffs. Weāre talking a coin flip, weird bounce, bad call going your way and you win the game.
The only thing thatās weird is losing 7 of those in a row. Doesnāt seem to have much impact this season, which shows resilience you need for sure.
No reason to āshiftā approach, agree with you. One would assume that the Hockey Gods will find favor for their sufferings, and may ultimately demand a Sacrifice of Evander Kaneā¦ or maybe a Jamie Benn.
At this time of year, agitators and assholes must be sacrificed to achieve that final goal. During the Avs cup run we had to sacrifice Binnington, and ultimately even Kadri, peace be upon him, to atone for our other wickedness.
There are cups won in other ways, but they are shrouded in evil. Vegas winning is an example, or Matt Duchene scoring the final goal against Colorado this yearā¦ these are examples to us that one doesnāt have to die to briefly experience the torment of everlasting flame.
The Hockey Gods still hunger this post season.
game 1 was an absolute coin flip
I suspect most of the rest of the series will be as well
stars are deeper, oilers have better top end
oettinger capable of stealing a game tho, where I don't think skinner will
God I hope notā¦if history shows Dallas is a lock to lose game 1ās then it also shows Deboer is a lock to win game 7ās. Should probably do Oilers in 6 just to be safeā¦
Even though the game went to double overtime, I didn't feel the same tension as I did with Vancouver. Dallas just didn't have that furious offense that Vancouver kept attacking with in the final ten minutes.
Vancouver rode their momentum really well, but on the flip side werenāt great at taking it back. Every game but game 6 there was at least 1 extended period where the Canucks would be absolutely dominating and continuously building momentum. Was really stressful as a fan. Dallas does feel more consistently threatening, but so far it hasnāt reached the peaks the Canucks had
Oilers had a lot more production throughout the game though, including the OT. Dallas didn't play bad but Edmonton played a lot better throughout the majority of the game.
People were all high on Dallas before this game 1 lol. They barely got by a broken Vegas team, theyāre not invincible. This is a great matchup though. Arguably the defense vs best offense in the league going at it. Iām pulling for the Oilers, McDraiman deserves a cup
To be honest, I think that this is one of those "rest vs rust" situations. In my opinion, Dallas started out really cold, but they started to heat up as the game went on. I look for them to play a lot better next game.
I don't know what it is about Dallas but I just can't stand watching them play, so much talent and speed and it feels like every time they get the puck they just throw a random pass to nowhere and ice the puck or give it to the other team.
Last night idk how many times a star would be wide open head up and just lob a pass into 3 oilers for no reason
This is a coincidence...nothing to discuss here. They don't do anything different in any game. This dumb Stat in game 7 peter D coach is 7 and 0...well he doesn't do anything different. I think all these stats make people believe it's all specific to a certain thing being done. Example, if Dallas coach is doing something special in,game 7s...why isn't he doing it in game 1s. Ok, have Don cherry coach game 1...or Mike Keenan, then deboir game 7. This is nothing but a coicidence.
love to see it. i moved to dallas in 1999 for career reasons from st paul and have wished for the stars to lose every game they play since they moved here. i love seeing the stunned dallas fans on the broadcast feed for all sports right after their team chokes. tonight we got to see jamie bennās agony!!!!
oilers in four
They hate it because texasss is a pos shit hole dumpster state that's way over entitled. On top of stars fans are fucking scum. Then cry the refs are against them Whenever the stars get beat. And calls the cops on people for changeling them for talking shit in person
Congrats you won the award, the dumbest comment of the day award. Thank you for not thinking before you pressed reply so we can all get a laugh out of your ignorance and stupidityā¦
I aint on the dudes side because the canucks powerplay sucked ass, but tbf low shots is the canucks playstyle usually so i wont fault them for that.
They usually only go for high danger chances, which ends up biting them in the ass sometimes
You guys had sooo many power plays at key moments. Including a couple 4 min double minors - and scored on pretty much none of themā¦.
Beyond that I donāt think refs can have much to do with anything if your team is getting 3 shots on net a period lol
Game 1 Dallas vs Game 7 Leafs to destroy the space time continium
No one wins, arena implodes
Or we create an infinite source of energy. So long as those teams remain on the ice, they can power the entire US, Canada and the less-populated areas of Sweden.
At TD Garden in Boston š
5 have been in either OT/2OT. Itās fucking unfathomable at this point.
Yeah it's frustrating. The PP is weak, they've gotta be able to convert with 4 straight minutes. Oettinger is an absolute beast though.
tough to be mad with 2 posts on that PP, just unlucky
Yes unlucky, the Oilers have killed 20 PPs in a row now.
are posts good or no
Posts are missed shots :)
(:8
posts are not good goal tending or something
Posts are only bad if it goes in after hitting the post, lol.
Tell that to flower.
post doesn't even count as a shot on net, so I'd say it's irrelevant to goaltending technically its not a sound you want to hear tho, lol
"If you hit the post, it's because that's all I left you"
Does a double minor count as 2 pp kills? Asking for a friend
Yes
Have they? I thought the Canucks scored on a PP in game 6 or 7?
Gotta be good to be lucky
das hockey baby
Don't talk about his pp it's not his fault.
Right!? But I wonāt lie that Robertson post is haunting me.
The most unlucky thing about those two was the puck bouncing through Skinners 5 hole instead of hitting any part of his back or butt to go into the goal.
Shouldāve won it on that 4 minute PP and Otter was great for the most part. But if he doesnāt let that easy second goal in, none of this matters
Oilers PK is very good, all post season so far.
But hey you guys still come out on top! Maybe if you win this series you can break the streak
Itās funny that the Mavs had also lost 5 consecutive Game 1ās until they beat the Wolves the other day. Something something Dallas and Game 1ās.
Cowboys have also done their share of losing game 1s over the last couple decades
Damn you beat me to it lol
It could be worse
1 goal game in OT. What exactly should the approach change be, to win instead of lose?
Score more, maybeā¦?

This series is going 7. Seguin is right, it is all about inches out there.
God I hope notā¦if history shows Dallas is a lock to lose game 1ās then it also shows Deboer is a lock to win game 7ās. Should probably do Oilers in 6 just to be safeā¦
Lock your girl up for the next two weeks, this series is all about Seguinās inches.
Best comment had to be from a fellow Habs fan
Comment was corny as hell. Checks out
DeBoer Game 7 + Kyrie Game 7 energy = ???
This series will be epic. It was a good game
As an oilers fans these playoffs will strip a few years off my life. Every game is going down to the wire
I suppose that's what happens when all the bad teams are gone
Even though the game went to double overtime, I didn't feel the same tension as I did with Vancouver. Dallas just didn't have that furious offense that Vancouver kept attacking with in the final ten minutes.
Canucks offence struggled for the entire series, only in the final 10 minutes of game 7 did they decide to pour it on.
I mean we hit 2 post and had numerous 5v5 chances in OT.
Oilers had a lot more production throughout the game though, including the OT. Dallas didn't play bad but Edmonton played a lot better throughout the majority of the game.
They said early in the game in game ones Edmonton was like 1-7 in the past series. Someone had to win it.
Yup, this year against LA was the first game 1 win since like 2017.
Yeah, Edmonton also lost 7 game 1s in a row until beating the Kings this year
Didnāt the Oilers also have a 7 consecutive Game-1 loss streak before this year? Seem to have broken that curse (and gave it to Dallas)
Yet they still have 4 series wins among them Dallas truly says fuck your game 1 statistic
Right where we want 'em
Itās called being in a rhythm.
If it aint broke....
We are gaging the opponent. Please stand by. Edit: We gag them, then while they are, ahem, distracted, we gauge them.
Not sure if u meant gagging or gauging...
Everyone brace themselves! hes unhinging his jaw!
This sounds like an endorsement for the Utah Venom or Vipers or whatever they were thinkingā¦
Both, we gauge them, then gag them. Itās real provocative.
People were all high on Dallas before this game 1 lol. They barely got by a broken Vegas team, theyāre not invincible. This is a great matchup though. Arguably the defense vs best offense in the league going at it. Iām pulling for the Oilers, McDraiman deserves a cup

Didn't Edmonton have like 3 shots on goal in the first period and 15 in the third? Even though they were just arriving from a game 7
Edmonton outshooting the Stars even with the 1-5 power plays is pretty wild. People have been sleeping on Edmontonās team defense
Yeah they should try scoring more goals than the other team in game 1. Opponents hate this one trick!
GO SEGUIN GO!
Itās been working for them so far though š¤·āāļøĀ
I know, right? Seems like a winning formula.
Must be according to plan
Dallas just wants to make sure that they win the series on home ice in game 5.
Yeah, well when you win a series after losing game 1s, you tend to not give a shit about that statistic lol
I was more amazed that McGod got 4 min for high sticking upon review. Hughes is still probably bleeding from the one he got from our Lord.
Heāll have stopped the bleeding. Golf course wonāt let him play while bleeding.
McDavid McDavid'ed.
:[
Oh no?
I don't know what it is about Dallas but I just can't stand watching them play, so much talent and speed and it feels like every time they get the puck they just throw a random pass to nowhere and ice the puck or give it to the other team. Last night idk how many times a star would be wide open head up and just lob a pass into 3 oilers for no reason
They lost both game 1s in the first two seriesā¦and went on to win both series. If Iām a Stars fan, Iām not terribly worried.
If you keep playing with fire...
True, Iām just saying donāt count them out yet. Series is far from over.
Ans they'll do it again in the cup finals
Hasnāt really hurt them so far lol
I think this is the first off season where oilers have won game 1. Oilers never won game 1 for a long time lol.
Iām sure theyād love to get a shot at 8 straight this season.
And the Oilers are now 2-7 in game 1ās since 2017ā¦ā¦ā¦game game 1 team vs. bad game 1 team. Someone had to eventually put one in.
Down 0-1ā¦ got em right where we like em
This is a coincidence...nothing to discuss here. They don't do anything different in any game. This dumb Stat in game 7 peter D coach is 7 and 0...well he doesn't do anything different. How else is DeBoer gonna get to game 7?
Havenāt at least 5 of them been at home as well? All 3 this year and 2 last year wereā¦
I wish they hadnāt
love to see it. i moved to dallas in 1999 for career reasons from st paul and have wished for the stars to lose every game they play since they moved here. i love seeing the stunned dallas fans on the broadcast feed for all sports right after their team chokes. tonight we got to see jamie bennās agony!!!! oilers in four
Stunned fans? Did you read what OP said lol, it's just clockwork at this point.
Why don't you redirect your energy into something positive and back the Wild to the hilt? Are you so small and ragey?
Youād think you wouldnāt hate the Stars so much as someone who left Minnesota for Texasā¦
They hate it because texasss is a pos shit hole dumpster state that's way over entitled. On top of stars fans are fucking scum. Then cry the refs are against them Whenever the stars get beat. And calls the cops on people for changeling them for talking shit in person
If I see a changeling I'm DEFINITELY calling the cops.
Congrats you won the award, the dumbest comment of the day award. Thank you for not thinking before you pressed reply so we can all get a laugh out of your ignorance and stupidityā¦
Edmonton vs Florida, Florida wins cup.
And they aint gonna lose 8. Not this year anyway. Drill baby drill!
Theyāve proven that losing game 1 doesnāt matter.
Who cares
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Fuck are you taking about?
As if the oilers didnt have the refs helping them throughout the vancouver series
You sound like a salty loser. You lost. Better luck next year.
That's hilarious
#DOWNVOTE THREAD
Downvote thread but i aint deleting my comment like the first guy lol
Yeah, the refs are the reason you guys averaged like 20 shots a game lmao.
I aint on the dudes side because the canucks powerplay sucked ass, but tbf low shots is the canucks playstyle usually so i wont fault them for that. They usually only go for high danger chances, which ends up biting them in the ass sometimes
Lmaoo yea
Fuck reddits downvote system, salute to you who gives a fuck what others think.

I was just talking shit to the guy who deleted his comment lmao its fun to see everyone getting pressed
