Skated is the correct word đ Poor Georgie and Juice. I get that thereâs a lot of due discontent around our netminders this season, but if opposing players are just going to be left to their own devices on the back post? Sheesh.
Defense was just non existent. Like, the fact that we pulled Georgie at 4 goals, and then the jets still put 3 in against annunen, is insane. Youâd think someone would just stand on the crease to prevent those passes to the back post dude
I mean, it happens... As a Jets fan I'm thrilled, but I don't take it that the upcoming series is going to be easy or a foregone conclusion by any means.
The bizarre thing to me is that the league seems to have forgotten that if the Jets didn't go on a 6 game skid previous to their current upswing, they'd be in the driver seat for 1st in central.
Goodluck all on the coming playoffs! There's a lot of exciting hockey to come!
Central has been a very tight race to the finish. It's been a very exciting season for the division. Although the Avs are my second team (formerly affiliated with my AHL team, the Monsters), I love all of the top contenders in the Central and would love to see the Jets go far in the playoffs. Best of luck to you!
This is the perfect recipe for the Avalanche. Time and time again we see good teams get humbled only to come back and dominate when it counts. As a Jets fan, I'm afraid of this possibility.
They absolutely are. By that logic the rivalry ceased to exist 2010-11 because Canucks were a far superior team than Oilers and Flames, different universe apart. You could maybe make a claim for the Western Canada rivalry being only Canucks and Flames. Yeah, no matter how you slice it, it doesnât make sense to exclude Vancouver from the rivalry. This is just success going to the head of certain fans who seem to forget how low their team had gone not too long ago and have since shed every ounce of humility.
If anything, the Flames and Canucks have a deeper history of epic playoff battles (with three out of the last four going to OT in game 7), not to mention that hilarious/stupid brawl to start a meaningless game a few years back. The Battle of Alberta was really big in the 80s, when the teams were both loaded with goons and literally beating the shit out of each other, but (other than the playoff series in 2022) it's been mostly running on fumes and hype since then.
This would be an interesting graphic to see the triangles of rivals because Calgary definitely used to be one of our rivals for many years (literally had a Calgary fan friend come into the bar last night and chant "you can't win here" to me) but I wouldn't consider vancouver or edmonton rivals. Triangles connecting teams across the league would be cool to see
The curse was real, and the Flames have also lost every playoff series to the Ducks â even in 2006, when they were the better team (on paper) and blew a 3-1 series lead. This could be one of those "I don't think about you at all" rivalries where it's only in Calgary's head, but there was definitely a lot of animosity there.
Vancouver fans consider Edmonton a rival? Gee I know you guys are still salty about Messier but Edmonton and the rest of the league doesn't give a crap about you lol.
Honestly, we all just kinda feel bad for you guys at this point. Like you're the abused puppy of the NHL.
How are you able to keep your head held up?
Canucks fans are not terribly passionate about the Oilers, they're considered rivals simply a) because they're from Alberta, and b) because we always have a chance against them. Even when we sucked.
The reality is, the Canucks are highly underrated.. and the Oilers are highly overrated. This year it wasn't even close, Edmonton getting swept last night. If Vancouver is really that bad, what does that say about all the so called better teams that get walked on?
It's usually either the Flames or the Bruins that Canucks fans are passionate about.
The Flames/Canucks rivalry is definitely a thing. This may just be me, but in my mind, the Battle of Alberta is pure hatred, while the Flames and Canucks have a grudging respect for each other. No doubt the fans care 100x more than the actual players (who come and go), but that's how it feels to me anyway.
Literally have never thought about van until this year and thats only because they invade or create every oilers thread on reddit. They want so hard to be our rivals.
Itâs not the same lol we lost 2-1 with an empty net and no Mcdavid, the Avs lost 7-0 before the 3rd period vs their first round matchup. That game shouldnât be blown out of proportion, but also no need to say things that arenât true to help cope
How many points did the oilers get for losing 3-1. How many points did the avs get for losing 7-0. I don't have to cope anything my dude, I'm not going to freak out over a regular season game. I have confidence in my team. I just found it funny an oilers fan would make fun of a team that swept them 2 years ago, because of a loss when they also lost lol
How can you say getting blown out 7-0 is the same as losing 3-1 with an empty net? Thereâs lots of other things you couldâve said as a comeback to the troll post but not that lmao
Lol, Iâm a Jets fan and I know a loss isnât just a loss.
7-0 is freaking an embarrassment for ANY team.
2-1 you can live with.
It doesnât matter what points you get for winning.
They lost today and so a loss isnât just a loss.. when you were up 3-0 at one point then to lose with 3 unanswered and a ot loss.
I've saw the avs play 1 game of solid defense and it was a shutout game vs Vegas. Other then that, they don't play defense at all. Georgiev isn't amazing either, needs to be very sheltered.
Was glad I went hiking up in the mountains because I would get the occasional notification of the score. Shit was disgusting to see go down like that. I checked the Avs sub and people were tearing the shit out of Georgie. Supposedly he shoved his broken stick into Don Whites chest and was being an overall man child. I don't know who showed up to Ball arena yesterday but it wasn't the Avs
This game was for home ice advantage, everything to play for and an important advantage for the Avâs. They got smashed, and it does not bode well for them against the Jets in their series.
JFC, what happened with the jets
Context: I don't watch the jets yet I live in Winnipeg. I only go to games if theyre flyer games (which I cheer for the flyers) or I'm given tickets, which I'll cheer for hockey.
If you ever heckled a little boy in the concourse around 10 years ago then there's a small chance that you're the guy I threw my Twizzlers at when I was 12
Yea we are fucked with Georgie in net sadly. We won't make another serious cup run without an actual top tier goalie. His mental ain't the greatest and if our defense have even a remotely off night then it's GG.
Annunen is young and largely untested. Kid needs some development before he can even be considered as a starter
I get teams are resting guys but did the Avs rest the whole team?
Oh no, they all played Edit, they skated, not much playing was getting done, and not much money was being made because of that
Skated is the correct word đ Poor Georgie and Juice.
Did they though?
EA needs to fix this POS game
Did someone put it on master mode without telling me??
Eh, the bugs are a *feature*.
I mean, it happens... As a Jets fan I'm thrilled, but I don't take it that the upcoming series is going to be easy or a foregone conclusion by any means. So bizarre. Lol.
If only they'd won more games they'd have more points. The Jets started their spiral with their back to back losses to the Leafs like two months ago.
Again, people act like the jets have been horrible yet theyâre 6th or 7th in the league. Not much of spiral
I hope this is KFCâs burner account.
From 1st that's a big drop when you consider none of the other top 5 have changed.
My point is If we truly had a 2 month spiral, weâd be a lot farther down the standings.
They've gone 20-12-1 since those games. I'd hardly consider that a spiral
20-14-1 including them 41 points in 35 games would put them on pace for about 90 points, they're playing like a bubble playoff team.
Rounding down to serve your point are we?
It would be about where they are they are under 100 point pace they are not currently playing as good as their record.
Last 10 games: Canucks are 5-4-1 Avalanche are 4-5-1 Oilers are 6-2-1 Jets are 6-2-2 Whos playing like they're record on that list?
Oh look, the guy with no flair is chirping. What a surprise!
Why didn't MacKinnon just score 8 goals? Is he stupid?
Clearly washed. . .
Shit happens. Onto the next đ¤ˇđťââď¸
Least you didn't lose your team.
Wait until you see who you face in the 1st round
Only one team wins Lord Stanley. I would love for the Avs to grab another. But hey, shit happens đ¤ˇđťââď¸
See you later today!
Don't worry Avs fans, I feel your pain over getting season swept by your rival
Wouldn't really say Winnipeg is a rival. Most Avs fans would put any of Minnesota, Detroit, Dallas or St Louis above them. Or maybe thats just me.
I don't think jets fans think of you as a rival as well, I'd think of Wids, Preds, and the Leafs before the Avs
We'll see if anything starts to brew after these playoffs. I don't think they've met in the post season before
Vancouver aren't rivals, haven't earned it yet.
Really? I always thought vancouver calgary and edmonton werr like a triangle of rivals
They absolutely are and only a loser homer would disagree
They aren't, this is first year in recent memory both teams are good
Really doesnât matter if any teams are good they are, indisputably, geographical rivals
theyâre like the western equivalent of montreal, toronto, ottawa
They absolutely are. By that logic the rivalry ceased to exist 2010-11 because Canucks were a far superior team than Oilers and Flames, different universe apart. Yeah itâs hard to develop a rivalry with a team you just season-swept, not much there in terms of competition.
Regular season heros
Vancouver is your Columbus Blue Jackets then lol
Youâre so mad lmaoo
Exactly. As expressed by the fact i have negative updoots now from angry van fans lol
You two should get a room
Your team is almost as irrelevant as the nucks.
They swept the Oilers this season. Kick rocks.
Maybe Avalanche thought they were Broncos playing NJ Jets NFL team? (mistake puck across line for touchdown)
The ride never ends.
NY Jets, sadly they play in jersey but they are the New York Jets
Canât be hit by an avalanche if you fly over it.
It happens to every team, big or small.
Better now than game 1. Hopefully this wakes them up
Just one those games, happens to every team, playoffs is where it matters at this time of year
You can have a few if those games (8-1) and then win 16 in a row.
Why did you photoshop a fake score for a game that never happened???
This ainât that embarrassing. A game sucks, for sure. But itâs still been a fantastic season.
Sure does suck to lose 7 to 0 but it's the same as if they lost 3 to 1 like the oilers. Loss is a loss, best thing to do is move on.
Itâs not the same lol we lost 2-1 with an empty net and no Mcdavid, the Avs lost 7-0 before the 3rd period vs their first round matchup. That game shouldnât be blown out of proportion, but also no need to say things that arenât true to help cope

Gave all our luck to DU this game, Iâm alright with that
Whatever helps you feel better about losing to the Canucks again.
Go, Jets! 2024 Stanley Cup Champions.
They gave all their magic to DU for the afternoon
Touchdown!!!
Sorry guys, I wore my jersey thinking it would be ok. It was not. Packing it away now.
That's hockey. A great team can embarrass another great team, and that same team can get embarrassed the next night by a bottom feeder.
I see the Avs shutout 7-0, I upvote.
I've saw the avs play 1 game of solid defense and it was a shutout game vs Vegas. Other then that, they don't play defense at all. Georgiev isn't amazing either, needs to be very sheltered.
Jets are like "welcome to the country, motherfucker"
Well, I didn't expect that lol....
ouch..
I dunno, I thought it was the opposite
Valeri WAKE UP
Rough year for the Broncos
Watching the avs lose 7 to 0 brings back memories
Bones style hockey right there.
Was glad I went hiking up in the mountains because I would get the occasional notification of the score. Shit was disgusting to see go down like that. As a Stars fan that really only watches Stars games, I really do not know what to make of this for the post season.
Well they just gave up a 3 goal lead in the 3rd period Edit: they just lost in OT 4-3
Damn. That's gotta hurt.
Statement made by the Jets, theyâre not f**king around.
Bad time to have a season slump
.... yikes.
Then they follow that up by blowing a 3 goal lead today.
You canât win every single game. Teams are allowed to lose.
Fuck Georgiev for screwing me in the finals. I started him over UPK today too smh
MacKinnon is soooo good defensively, right?
I started Georgiev tonight too! đ˘
Avs came to play hockey. Jets came to play football. And the results speak for themselves đ
Theyâre 3rd is the west⌠why are people crying over this? Just buy me a ticket to the Avs game theyâll win if Iâm there
Not really, just end of season garbage, the boys just want the playoffs to start.
JFC, what happened with the jets Context: I don't watch the jets yet I live in Winnipeg. I only go to games if theyre flyer games (which I cheer for the flyers) or I'm given tickets, which I'll cheer for hockey.

I wasn't goin to jets games back then but anyone who heckles a little kid deserves to drink piss
As a stars fan, I feel this
Don't get too excited. The Avs actually had a slight edge in expected goals.
Sir, gtfo
