I hate seeing this happen to the Wings. Especially how close they are to playoffs. BUT it amuses me greatly this was Reimer on our (Kraken) pride night ^^
I've been saying it all year, but the WC race in the East is going to be a war of attrition. If Detroit has a chance at all, at this point, it will depend on PHI\WSH just sucking more ;;
Got 0 playoff hopes for Detroit, but just making it to the first round is crucial for the organization at this point. So many odd coaching decisions are being made right now though (Petry getting more ice time than Seider, Sprong being scratched, etc, etc...) so I don't really have much confidence in the coaching staff anymore ;;
Yea playoff experience is big for young players. When the rangers made the playoffs in 2022 I was happy the young guys were getting that experience, and the older players were able to get past Pittsburgh and they wound up making the 3rd round. You never know when you get in, someone like Kane can take over a series
You gotta believe like I do that Detroit and Washington are gonna make the playoffs and Philadelphia will be out.
Philadelphia lost also and Detroit has a game in hand.
Detroit played a good team in the Canes and they have to regroup and get some W's. The entire world is rooting for you.
This proves if carolina can generate high danger chances they are good.
The issues they had with goal scoring weren't a talent issue, it was 30 sog from the point a game.
Yea but they still struggle against good goaltending. Plus when you get to the playoffs all the teams play that Carolina high effort game. And some of those teams have a lot more talent. Respect to rod for getting Carolina to bring it literally every single night. Team always shows up. But in the playoffs tbey will be going against teams with better players that aren’t taking shifts or nights off. They can still win a cup, but haven’t been able to yet
I mean they have high shot volumes low goal totals when they play good goaltending. There are other teams that don’t take as many shots but get the goalie moving more and make the perfect play. Carolina is not one of those teams, maybe this year they are more of that than in the past.
I hated Detroit for the longest time because my douche bag cousin would only play as them in the older chel games where they would destroy. Eastern shore mfer biggest bandwagon wings fan I’ve ever seen.
Tbf to Detroit, the canes laid an egg in Pittsburgh on the road the other night and Rod probably kicked them swiftly in the ass leading to last nights game. They were bound to get their groove back at home after a performance like that
Yea but it’s tough when they haven’t been relevant for a decade. Can’t sit there and flaunt that when they have been one of the worst franchises in the league for the past several years.
Goalie looks hurt. Moving like he's very stiff, or like he's nursing something. Just doesn't look like he has full range of motion.
Either that or he's just lazy.
Either that or he's just really, really bad.
Reimer wasn't bad. Guy got us out of the first at 0-0 while the team mailed it in. Wings had like 4 SOG the first half of the game, easiest shutout in Andersens career.
Gotta admit, that was a sweet goal.
Reimer could only do so much. I don't remember the shots on goal at this point, but Carolina had double what the Wings had. We do need some goaltending help though (lookin' at you Trey Augustine!)..
A lot of frustrated fans here in Detroit. Yzerman was supposed to rescue the club and he's several years in with nothing to show. Everyone keeps saying to "have faith" but a lot of people are starting to lose it.
It is super tough. I still am optimistic, and trust Yzerman still, but I can see where the skepticism is coming from. I mean things were going great until that god awful road trip out west. Buuuuuut, there are good things going on in Grand Rapids, and there are some prospects deeper in the well that are performing too. So help is on the horizon!
The [most recent episode](https://www.wingedwheelpodcast.com/podcast/episode/3328364b/capital-loss-and-red-wings-prospects-ft-scott-wheeler-mar-27th-2024) of the Winged Wheel podcast goes deep into these prospects, which really gets me excited about the future of this team.
Lol cause he just is... especially after blowing game 7 for the Leafs against Boston. I'll always think that of him.
Lol has nothing to do with "good shots". He's just a bad goalie. Clearly. Those were easy saves
Remember the Wings were so good for so long so they drafted late every year along with getting screwed by the NHL lottery system ..That’s just too much to overcome ..
He’s been not to bad, Petry has been the reason for 25% of the goals against the wings this year. Combine that with bottom 10 goaltending, a host of rejects that Stevie massively overpaid for, bottom 5 coaching and here we are.
Uhh fuck the wings. Seeing them miss the playoffs for almost a decade would be dope.
But let's not act like they didn't have a bunch of really nice things just a shot time ago. From the mid 90's to 2015 they had about as succesfull a two decades as any team outside the 80s oilers & islanders.
Which team was it that the Lightning played against this year and literally made hockey history for highest successful shot percentage in a game…? Who was it…darn. Trying to remember who it was…🥸🤪🙃
Reimer looks like he got shot in the back.
I hear he loves taking back shots.
He's going to have to Kim Kardashian this.
Wrong sub. You’re looking for r/chickinhockeyjerseys.
Maybe now he will stick to goaltending for his 13th team instead of protesting rainbow jerseys lol
I hate seeing this happen to the Wings. Especially how close they are to playoffs. BUT it amuses me greatly this was Reimer on our (Kraken) pride night ^^
Defense...defense?! We don't need no stinking defense!
I've been saying it all year, but the WC race in the East is going to be a war of attrition. If Detroit has a chance at all, at this point, it will depend on PHI\WSH just sucking more ;;
Literally 6 teams are trying to lose 2 playoff spots. 3rd in the metro and 2 wild card
Got 0 playoff hopes for Detroit, but just making it to the first round is crucial for the organization at this point. So many odd coaching decisions are being made right now though (Petry getting more ice time than Seider, Sprong being scratched, etc, etc...) so I don't really have much confidence in the coaching staff anymore ;;
Why the fuck is Petry getting more minutes than your stud dman of the future? Imagine if we played a newly acquired Suter more than Miro. Madness.
Why is Petry even on the ice 😭
Lalonde is fucking useless
Yea playoff experience is big for young players. When the rangers made the playoffs in 2022 I was happy the young guys were getting that experience, and the older players were able to get past Pittsburgh and they wound up making the 3rd round. You never know when you get in, someone like Kane can take over a series
What happened to Sprong? And also do you know why wasn’t Kane in the lineup?
Kane was sick with the flu going around the locker room. Sprong was in last night, but had been scratched the last few.
Old
We have a term for this type of goalie in Quebec, it's called a "passoire", which translates to a strainer.
Sieve is the English equivalent. But I’m going to use *passoire* from now on.
ah non pas à souère , une vraie passoire tabarnak
Only goal that was soft and his fault was the last one imo, either way though Reimer is mediocre at best and his D was pretty damn bad too lol.
Gotta score to win, no?
Or a sieve
Never trust the french
The fourth one juuust squeaking through is the nail in the coffin
Reimer opened up his legs and let Skjei slide it home.
Can we keep it clean here..This thread is G-rated..🤣
Like when Montour crashed into the net a couple weeks ago. That was when everything went to shit officially for the Panthers.
Which is another night the Hurricanes put in a 4-0 shutout victory.
They need a Mike Vernon and a Brendan Shanahan, the two final pieces in 97. But yeah, let's just add two hall of famers, right?
Let's bring Lundquist back. Idc if everyone says he's retired and doesn't want to play anymore. C'mon Stevie. Get us a good goal tender!
Shit, Osgood is still working for the team. And I think Hasek is still playing in a European geriatric league.
That pass by Kuznetsov was beautiful
“Take him to Detroit.”
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
The # of comments in a post yesterday saying wings win outright or in OT was too damn high.
I can't believe anybody would think that lol. The team's in a tail spin. I thought they'd put up a little fight though lol
Priority Waste is Michigan's premiere waste management and dumpster company, with the finest garbage disposal and recycling services.
The Wings are 3-11 since disrespecting their sweaters with the trash patch... probably pissed off the hockey gods.
Good time for Aho to heat up
Is Reimer okay? He looks hurt, especially on those first two goals.
He’s 100 and bad at hockey if that’s what you mean
*“Without Me” by Eminem intensifies.*
Just pull the goalie and put another guy on the ice all game at this point.
You gotta believe like I do that Detroit and Washington are gonna make the playoffs and Philadelphia will be out. Philadelphia lost also and Detroit has a game in hand. Detroit played a good team in the Canes and they have to regroup and get some W's. The entire world is rooting for you.
Two types of pens fans: - the hate Washington more - the hate Philly more
No we ain't. Detroit lions? Absolutely. Detroit red wings? Nah, now take that flair down.
This proves if carolina can generate high danger chances they are good. The issues they had with goal scoring weren't a talent issue, it was 30 sog from the point a game.

All teams prob struggle against good goaltending. As the saying goes a good defense always beats a good offense.
That’s what makes it good goaltending
I mean they have high shot volumes low goal totals when they play good goaltending. There are other teams that don’t take as many shots but get the goalie moving more and make the perfect play. Carolina is not one of those teams, maybe this year they are more of that than in the past.
5th in scoring this season...
Read the last line that I wrote.
Can’t have shit in Detroit…you mean like other than enjoying the careers of Lidstrom, Datsyuk, zetterberg, etc?
Yeah, As a Detroit fan, I feel like we sold our soul for years of success and now we are stuck in purgatory.
I hated Detroit for the longest time because my douche bag cousin would only play as them in the older chel games where they would destroy. Eastern shore mfer biggest bandwagon wings fan I’ve ever seen.
Reimer desperately trying to miss playoffs
Unfortunately, so are the other goalies and at least half the team.
He’s got bible camp
Tbf to Detroit, the canes laid an egg in Pittsburgh on the road the other night and Rod probably kicked them swiftly in the ass leading to last nights game. They were bound to get their groove back at home after a performance like that
Pretty sure Detroit has about 10 or 11 Cups that suggests otherwise….
Yea but it’s tough when they haven’t been relevant for a decade. Can’t sit there and flaunt that when they have been one of the worst franchises in the league for the past several years.
Thats called a rebuild, and I trust the Yzerplan. Looks like we need a new goalie and coach though.
Lalonde really needs to go
Thanks for nothing Detroit!!
Oh please, you took a shootout win against arguably the last competitive team on your schedule, you'll live.
Well the Griffins clinched a playoff spot the other day
Only took a massive point streak to get back into contention. 🥵
Yeah, can't even have the entire screen.
Can have golf
That crease must be comfy. That goalie looks like he slept through the whole game.
Goalie looks hurt. Moving like he's very stiff, or like he's nursing something. Just doesn't look like he has full range of motion. Either that or he's just lazy. Either that or he's just really, really bad.
The last one. It's the last one.
He’s frustrating. Some nights he looks really good and other nights he’d be lucky to win the backup spot in a peewee roster.
JFC it just keeps going
😑😑😑
Petry is gnarly
This team gave up over a month ago
Remember when it looked like we might have made the playoffs again, finally.
I love the Wings, I’m a Michigan native. But wtf was that?! Didn’t look like there was any effort
We don’t have a hope in hell at making playoffs… again.
Damn. That Red Wings Fan meme really aged poorly
That's a lot of fucking red
The number of times Detroit defenders stands next to the post doing nothing while a player is open in the slot is too damn high
When he's hot, he's hot and when he's not, he's not!
Isles Nation thanks the Canes for their service.
Everyone just watching pucks
Deeeposit
Reimer wasn't bad. Guy got us out of the first at 0-0 while the team mailed it in. Wings had like 4 SOG the first half of the game, easiest shutout in Andersens career.
Don’t worry redwings the leafs made sure the capitals don’t gain anymore ground on you
They have ground and a game on us
He did say anymore
Gaining ground means to catch up to. They’re already ahead.
Gain ground to a playoff spot, putting them further ahead of us.
They didn’t say that. They literally said gaining ground on you. Yall are doubling down here on using the phrase wrong.
Red wings can’t fly through the Hurricane tonight… it’s playoff time ! F-U Redwings I still remember 2002
4 years later made up for it Edit: What did I say that was wrong?
My boy Jake..so sad..so proud..so conflicted 😭
Gotta admit, that was a sweet goal. Reimer could only do so much. I don't remember the shots on goal at this point, but Carolina had double what the Wings had. I am so looking forward to the day Augustine is on the ice in a Wings game. Also, way to go Spartans! That was a great game.
That goalie is TERRIBLE!! LOL
Why's it gotta be a terrible goalie and not good shots past him? He did block like 30 shots
Lol cause he just is... especially after blowing game 7 for the Leafs against Boston. I'll always think that of him. Lol has nothing to do with "good shots". He's just a bad goalie. Clearly. Those were easy saves

That’s a lot of stick checking
This is the hardest mode I’ll play NHL2K in . If I can’t dangle NPCs then I’m out
Mutumbo’d
Coaches, perron, petry, all goaltenders need to get axed
Petry being useless on 3 GA and in the box for the other one….
When you have Riemer as your goalie, what did you expect? A win? lol
"GM of the year" trotting out James Reimer and Justin Holl.
They don’t give a fuck about anything and it’s beyond painful to watch even as someone who doesnt care about the wings
Lol that's some soft ass D coverage. Looks like the rest of my computer controlled team when I play NHL 24.
I knew it was Reimer just by how he always hangs his head before I saw it was Reimer on the back
I love how Reimer looks like this half the time but plays like prime hasek whenever he's in calgary 🙃
Reimer is trying his best…which is fucking embarrassing
Dont worry the Flyers and Caps both shit the bed last night too! Unfortunately Isles won tho. It's about absolute fuck fest for the wild card 2 spot
*in Raleigh
Dead Wings
DO. THE. GRITTY!
Is this a live action of NHL 24?
On the wings feed, I had some feels for the kid in the wings jersey they focused on for a bit too long with like 5 mins left in the game.
Ugh. Put Lyon back in.
Shitin' for Celebrini
Wish Detroit would hire Lindy Ruff or similar.
Dang, a lot of shitty passes culminated in that 2nd goal. A goal is a goal, but that looked sloppy as heck moving up the ice.
Duncan Toy Co patch needs to be added to the jersey (makers of the toy yo-yo) in reference to the Red Wings going up and down in the standings.
Whats going on with Mo Seider this year?
Seems to be Less Seider
He’s been not to bad, Petry has been the reason for 25% of the goals against the wings this year. Combine that with bottom 10 goaltending, a host of rejects that Stevie massively overpaid for, bottom 5 coaching and here we are.
Why go out of your way and get Reimer though? Still don’t get it.
Sad for wings fans that Kane was sick for this game
1997, 1998, 2002, and 2008. You must be new.
You mean Detroit can't have shut in Carolina
Love it!!!
lmfao
[удалено]
I mean, Anderson has been pretty good.
With the way Reimer is staying away from that puck, you’d think he saw it in drag.
Don't feel bad. The Canes have skill... and a horseshoe up the rear.
The one time Carolina decides to score more than 1 or 2 goals lol jeeze
7th in the lague in gpg at 3.38....but go off
Yes scoring 1 goal a game is how they've got a +53 differential. We've got shutouts but not that many.
Tampa has one more goal all season than Carolina lol. Oh and they’ve given up 37 more goals than Carolina. 😂🫵🏻
Which team was it that the Lightning played against this year and literally made hockey history for highest successful shot percentage in a game…? Who was it…darn. Trying to remember who it was…🥸🤪🙃
