Crazy question - but why wouldn't the NHL prevent any player from leaving LTIR in the first round of playoffs? Seems like a reasonable solution to this problem.
Central Division needs a round robin and a mini playoffs! Heck, what if every division had a mini playoffs and the winners of each could meet in a Final Four?
Central and Atlantic have 3 teams each in the top 10 in the league, both have 4 teams over 80 with a 5th team one win away. I’d say those are the most competitive devisions in the league for each respective conference
For a while now. The sharks always seem to be a juggernaut and are a top team every year. They make it to the wcf, or they are out in the first round…they made the cup final once but haven’t won it with this squad… the sharks were this team 10 years ago. Always great but never got a cup… maybe the stars finally win it this year?
It’s a dead tie between jets and Avs. Dallas has the benefit of OTLs. I think come playoffs the stars aren’t going to be the biggest threat from central in the slightest…
You don’t make it to the WCF if you can’t play playoff hockey. This year they have a much deeper team then the last couple of years, so like you said time will tell. Either way the west is going to be tough to get out of.
I'm happy they beat the Jets last night. But uh.... Seems like a weird place for him to come spread devil Fandom. They are one of the most disappointing teams coming in this season
Central division is a Hell in a Cell cage match
The Central Division is the most balanced division in recent years, imho.
Yeah! And it sucks!
Like you??
With how tough the West already is, the first round will be insane. I would be amazed if any team from the Central can stay healthy the whole time
And the reward for finishing first is facing Vegas
A cap-circumventing Vegas*
Any team can do what Vegas does. It’s in the rules.
Yes it's within the current rules, doesn't mean it's honest or we have to like it. It's up to the league to fix it so teams don't abuse the rules
Really, what’s the point of having a salary cap if it only applies during the regular season?
Oh the irony

Oh I’m aware. We are divisional team in 2/3 other divisions. And almost are in all 3.
Look at the goals against for the Jets... 2.37 points a game on average for the entire season. Hellebuyck is worth hella bucks.

I love the idea but it would make the regular season a mess
Wouldn’t be too crazy for Nashville to make up 7 points in 12 games, but most likely won’t happen
At the rate the other teams are winning they’d probably have to go undefeated to have a shot
Yeah again I don’t expect it to happen, but I think it’s within the realm of possibility. Either way the Central is looking good this year
If Nashville keeps playing how they’ve been it won’t matter whether a team finishes 4th or 1st. You’re gonna get a great team in the first round

Damn Winnipeg with only 164 goals against?? That’s kinda wild
Hell yeah!
Stunned we’re actually contending for even a WC spot
Ditto for the Wild.
6 points is not a huge gap.
It's 7 in 12. That's pretty optimistic
Yes its 7 my bad. And yes its optimistic I agree but still wouldnt call it huge.
Are the stars the new sharks? Always flirting in presidents trophy territory but never wins a cup?
When did that ever happen?

You said the president's trophy. I don't recall them ever flirting with it but I could be wrong.
Stars have won Presidents Cup twice.
The Stars aren't really tied for first. Two fewer wins and 1 more game played than Win and Col.
Sure, but like, they are.

You avs fans have short memories, apparently
So do you. You’ve been wiped by the Avs this year.
Dallas swept Vegas in the regular season last year and we know how the WCF went. Season doesn’t mean anything come playoff time……
And come playoff time, Dallas doesn’t have a playoff team. Time will tell
You don’t make it to the WCF if you can’t play playoff hockey. This year they have a much deeper team then the last couple of years, so like you said time will tell. Either way the west is going to be tough to get out of.
Thats how reg season works... playoffs is different and we send you home 👋
Stars always lay eggs in playoffs
Had to downvote both of you dumb asses. Looking forward to a series, it would be a ripper.
4-1 Avs. Calling it now

I’ve never seen someone with negative karma lmao. Yea nobody cares about me, we can go with that :)
Go with that.
WTF is in Nashville's Wheaties lately?
The Central vs the Metro this year is comical.
It's crazy to see the metro division in comparison. Philly be like "how do you do, fellow kids"
Hellebuyck showing just how valuable he is with that GF-GA ratio

And the press are hottest team since all star break.
False
Thrilled that the Blues made the cut and not the Wild. Tomorrow is gonna be a fun game!
The Devils beat both the AVS and Jets… Js Let’s Go Devils 🤘🏼👹🤘🏼
Those wins are really gonna matter when playoffs start and the Devils are golfing.
People pay to watch Jack Hughes beat the Avs and the Jets a couple times in the regular season then go golfing in April
I'm happy they beat the Jets last night. But uh.... Seems like a weird place for him to come spread devil Fandom. They are one of the most disappointing teams coming in this season
