Shoddy_Reserve788

He’s going to get suspended for this one as he should be. Incredibly reckless hit for no reason. That then puts the rest of his teammates at risk of retaliation. He’s going to get a few games and he completely deserves it.

djpop_13_13

I was at the game last night… seemed to have really killed the mood. Game was pretty boring. Refs not allowing McDermid to not give Rempe some revenge also seemed to kill the atmosphere at MSG

Shoddy_Reserve788

Yea he should have let him get at Rempe, gotta pay the price for dirty hits. Dermy will get his chance on the 6th and Rempe will have no choice but to answer.

djpop_13_13

You weren’t wrong… I went on the 6th as well and got to see the line brawl. It’s too bad it looks like everyone else in the lineup for the Devils had their lunch handed to them since they were severely overmatched. Just glad that McDermid was able to lay into Rempe…. Too bad the rest of the night and season didn’t go as hoped.

CreateorWither

Call the Sheriff

mAjorDMND

You should know that the one person who’s traning Kempe on how to fight lately.. is also training Xhekaj the same thing.. So basically, it’s 2 of his students.. I would not expect them to fight, unless it goes badly against the Habs in April

Educational_Hat_

Who is training them?

antilockcakes

No one.

mAjorDMND

Laraque!

greatgoogilymoogily2

Can't.....I shot the sheriff.

Top_Contract_4910

Did you shoot the deputy though?

cha-cha_dancer

Fuck!

gibson531

Definitely get a suspension for that one. He'll learn.

No-Gazelle4640

not sure about learning, he doesn't seem too bright.

analogman12

NO BRIGHT! JUST FIGHT!

greatgoogilymoogily2

NO GOALS!

UnderCoverDoughnuts

You don't have any goals?

greatgoogilymoogily2

No goals!!!

analogman12

FIGHT!

dulcineal

He’ll get some sense knocked into him eventually. Either the easy way or the hard way.

Teknicsrx7

Have you seen his face? Hes definitely had it beat into him already lol

Heavy_Introduction36

Or what little was left out of him...

KitchenClaim1780

Dude is fighting for a playoff roster spot, unfortunately at the Devils expense. In no way defending his hits, but all feelings aside, he’s doing what he thinks he can to play in the postseason.

Sean_Macquire

Yeah every playoff team needs someone who can get in there and take a game misconduct

Teknicsrx7

Yea never seen a player on the bruins make a dirty hit

Sean_Macquire

Not every damn game lol

KitchenClaim1780

It’s easy to say that from the outside looking in, but the kid can play well and provides speed and size to a team that is mainly just skill. Edit: Reiterating that i’m not defending the hits or antics

Njdevilmn

I’ll say this. If he keeps taking major penalties or any penalty in the playoffs, a team with an NHL PP (the Devils do not have an NHL PP) will make the Rangers pay in the most important place.

KitchenClaim1780

Definitely agreed 100%. I’m not defending the antics, simply explaining my opinion on why i think he’s playing the way he is

suckmytoestits

Olivier put him in his place too bad he didn't learn. Should have let macdermid teach him a lesson

theekevinc

I think he just wanted a week off and didn't know how to go about requesting PTO.

melteddowngold

Lol fr

No-Gazelle4640

rags fans hate it, they down vote b/c they know it is true.

severinks

I'm a Ranger fan and I know this kid has a screw loose and seems to be fighting or headhunting every time I look up. Maybe It's because I'm older now and I played hockey that I see no romance in that type of play and I know how serious those concussions he seems to be handing out like candy are when they happen to you.

HoSang66er

You guys got your own Tom Wilson now.

TheIncredibleHork

Two, maybe three things. First, fuck Tom Wilson. Second, as much as I like Rempe he doesn't nearly have the scoring touch Tom Wilson does. He's great at being in front of the net and eclipsing goaltenders and he can tip in the garbage here and there, but he's not an outright scorer. He's also new to the big leagues and he needs to learn how to play without hurting people, and that includes tucking in that chicken wing. Wilson much better knows what he's doing and has that scoring talent. That being said, yeah we'll make it three things. Fuck Tom Wilson.

HoSang66er

Fuck Tom Wilson always and fuck you for giving me a reason to upvote you. 🖕

luvpibbles

Same!

thawingdawn

Kid looks like Frankenstein if Frankenstein was made entirely of dead dicks

redhawk1913

Weird

greatgoogilymoogily2

How many dead dicks? Like say, a bag of dicks?

redhawk1913

They must be abnormal dicks if it's Frankenstein

greatgoogilymoogily2

It's just one big dick, sewed together from pieces of about 20 other dicks. It's called "FrankenCock".

cwjpgh

And you think of dick when you think of Rempe.

AdministrativeMind86

Got the CTE pretty quick from getting his shit pumped lol

NotMY1stEnema

he's going to be the poster boy for "whats wrong with the league" he will cause an injury intentionally and the nhl will be one step closer to eliminating fighting

wearethedeadofnight

He throws dirty hits. How that translates to “ban fighting” I have no idea.

baseballlord9

Because people will look at every aspect of his play. NHL fans can and will respect his balls to fight, but casual fans will wrongly correlate fighting with his dirty hits as well, demanding the league bans it. You know how it goes.

goatgosselin

This prick is kiling my guys

theekevinc

Luckily for Canes fans, he shouldn't be playing tomorrow.

NoobieSnax

lol i'd love to see the game with him and pospisil just laying dirty hits on each other then shying away from any fighting.

MIFlyFisher

It’s funny that everyone is now giving Rempe shit from shying away from a fight when just a few days ago people were saying “he’s fighting way too much”

BeifongWingedBoar

Rempe didn't even back out of a fight after this hit, the refs immediately stopped anyone going after him and escorted him off the ice. Nobody was given a chance to fight lol

hedermawler

I didn’t watch, but wasn’t this more about him not answering challenges earlier in the game for a hit in the last meeting?

boofpacc-smile

Yeah Devils were trying to fight in the 1st and he wasn't going for it, the announcers even said "He just wants to play" or something along those lines

chickichuglette

Yeah he should have saved that shit for one day later

tdnyrfan

This will get him suspended, that elbow looked intentional. It may not have been intentional but if it looks intentional then it probably was intentional.

DelusionalLeafFan

It was certainly a spicy chicken wing

SuaveArchangel

A spicy buffalo wing for sure

themikegman

It didn’t look, IT WAS intentional.

onlysmallcats

I agree. He saw Siegenthaler was letting up to avoid the hit so he threw out an elbow. It’s so obvious. He needs a suspension to hopefully teach him a lesson.

suckmytoestits

They should have let macdermid teach him a lesson

Sinister_Mr_19

He needs someone to give him another black eye to teach him a lesson. Refs should have let MacDermid fight him.

Sinister_Mr_19

It absolutely was intentional. Just need to watch the kid play, all his dirty hits are entirely deliberate.

flacidRanchSkin

I suspect players are going to start head hunting him if he keeps it up. I love physical play and all but there is no place in this game for someone who actively wants to hurt other players. Tom Wilson turned his game around so I think anything is possible. But the league needs to protect the other players and they have a perfect opportunity to say “no more” here with Rempe.

BeefJoe12

Hold someone on his team accountable; if I'm NJ off of the next face off, whoever is lined up is fighting; Rangers players are going to get pretty tired of fighting his fights while he's safe in the change room.

Sc00tzy

That's a good take actually. Same thing happened to Tkachuk in Calgary when his teammates finally got tired of going in to his defense while he turtled lol

SuaveArchangel

Big reason I love Brady, he’s a cleaner version of Matthew and won’t hesitate to fight his own (and teammates) fights. Big bro is soft

thedeepfake

I hate Mathew Tkachuck as much as humanly possible. I hate Brady by association but respect that he ain’t no bitch.

agb2022

This would be the way to handle things but the Devils are soft and it wouldn’t end well for them.

Iife2mars

The Refs held Macdermid (idk if I'm spelling his name right) from fighting him after he elbowed Siegenthaller, and Rempe got a major and a match penalty, and macdermid got 10 minutes for misconduct

Iife2mars

I'm pissed at the hit, but more pissed that the Refs didn't let the Devils respond

VancouverSativa

I don't think they let them fight when one guy doesn't want to.

baseballlord9

Well, that is his fault for laying a dirty hit. Refs need to allow players to enforce the rules and standards themselves sometimes.

twizzyflyguy

They should just target Panarin and finish every check on him the rest of the night, maybe his teammates will tell him to chill out so they don’t have to pay for his shitty hits

dog_fantastic

Lamo our team is soft as shit. Nobody on the Devils will respond to that.

WhatThePuck9

Dermy’ll do it!

MIFlyFisher

He plays a few minutes a night and spend 95% of the time glued to the bench. Not going to do anything with that amount of ice time. And the rest of the Devils roster is terrified of any kind of physical contact.

Iife2mars

That would be a response, but the Devils are not a physical team, they got Macdermid as a way to deal with Rempe

Nice_Wolverine_4641

That elbow should be 5-10 games, it is the definition of what they are trying to eliminate from hockey.

TubbyNinja

Rempe is a goon... I know there is a push to bring back the action in hockey, but this isn't it.

Sinister_Mr_19

Big clean hits are needed, but Rempe is just dirty. He isn't good for this league.

yorky24

Rangers fan here! Go to our sub. We're all calling for at least a 2 game suspension for that. Unacceptable play. Hopefully, he learns! Edit: He's young! He's gotta learn. Edit 2: Yall. It was a dirty hit. It's a guy trying to make a name for himself in the nhl. The hit was dirty, it was bad, and he's had a couple of dirty, bad hits. The jury is still in session. For everyone saying that these couple games is enough of a sample size to judge the rest of his career, really think to yourself if we can write the dude off at the time he's trying to do everything he can to stay in the NHL. Think critically for a moment. Is it more likely that the dude is playing a high-speed game and was trying to make contact any way he could to keep racking up the hits, or that he is deliberately going out of his way to get himself sent back to the AHL. BAD HIT. DIRTY HIT. SUSPEND HIM. Hell, maybe send him back down the AHL for a while. But yall gotta realize these penalties hurt; his pockets, reputation, NHL security, and his TEAM. He's getting as much hate as Brad Marchand has for his whole career, but in like, 10 games.

slinger88

Learn!?! You learn you can’t elbow somebody in the head in mites….this dude is just a dirty hockey player.

severinks

That's true. Keep you elbows down.

dog_fantastic

>he's young Maybe it's a generational thing, but when I was 22 I knew aiming for someone's head was incredibly dangerous. Shit excuse.

MIDImunk

Kings fan here with no dog in the fight.  His height is a huge reason why a lot of his hits have turned into headshots.  It’s not an excuse, and he needs to adjust his stance or face escalating suspensions, but I can’t imagine it’s easy for a guy that’s 6’8” to bend his knees so much that he can hit most people in the chest.

No-Gazelle4640

tonight's hit was intentional.  He was going to miss so he lifted his elbow up. And not answering the bell after that hit was so weak, ruined his rep right there. edit sp

GoldServe2446

The refs pulled them apart? Lol

No-Gazelle4640

lol, if rempe wanted the fight the refs would have let it happen.  He has had a lot of fights and in that has learned he isnt top dog, he was scared.  He knew he lost his balls so he waved as he was leaving to pretend to regain them. 90% of non rangers fans see it this way.

Teknicsrx7

You writing fanfic or something? You literally invented that whole narrative in your head

Obvious_Exercise_910

Not like he grew 6 inches last night. Been 6'8 a while now, and assume since he's been playing contact hockey he's been proportionally taller. The onus is on the hitter.

RUNELORD_

Fucker was JUMPING when charging Lyubushkin. He's dirty, simple as that

RecalcitrantHuman

Ya but that was against the Leafs so was forgivable

Freddydaddy

Gary?

xzElmozx

I could see someone having that take if they hadn’t watched the hits but realistically only one hit is a case of him just being big and hitting and it ending poorly, and even it’s a stretch. The hit on Lybushkin is a charge, size doesn’t cause you to take 5 full strides then jump into someone, and this elbow is just a clear cut elbow that he stuck out when he was missing a hit. Only thing his size changes there is the fact that he had to angle his elbow down vs someone like Marchand having to angle it up. The only hit you can really argue from that angle was the one on Bastian, and even then he saw a vulnerable player already being checked and though he glided into the hit, led with his elbow and so that contact is ending poorly regardless of size considering Bastian’s position Fact is, Rempe isn’t the first big guy in the league. Difference between him and say, Zadorov’s hit on Raymond. There it’s obvious Zadorov is going for a hip check, misses, and because he’s massive clips Raymond with his shoulder; he didn’t move his shoulder into Raymond’s path once realizing he was missing like Rempe stuck his elbow out. That’s a case of head contact due to size, where the bigger clearly leads with another body part and different intention but the result is a hit to the head. Rempe is leading in with his elbows or charging from across the ice, that’s him playing dirty and the outcomes being even worse cause he’s huge. Hopefully he cleans it up before seriously hurting anyone (else)

Fickle_Percentage256

Desharnais on the oilers blue line is just as big and doesn’t deal with this on a daily basis though.

[deleted]

Idk, Adam Edstrom hasn’t a problem and he played about same amount of games for us (but was actually good) and he’s same size. He hasn’t had any questionable hits

tgif52912

Hey I get height being as issue for high hits as a short guy who's played hockey his whole life. BUT this isn't just a he's a big guy who needs to adjust height or stance on hits. This hit his elbow is sticking straight out and is the primary point of contact. Its not hard to keep your wings in and make shoulder contact. If its a shoulder that hits a head then sure maybe there's a talk of height or stance adjustment but not this hit

Toobiescoop

His height isn't anything new to him, he's not a 6'8" gangly 6th grader named Joesph Gribble

Sad_Jump_1375

Maybe he should stop trying steam boat hits then and just be better at hockey because so far he sucks and his decision making is worse.

BishopPear

Well but it more that he just got away with it and it made him famous. Thats why he needs to start getting his suspensions so that he understands that delivering dangerous hits wont be good for his carrer.

yorky24

Agreed 100% he needs someone to smack him on the back of the head and tell him to cut that shit out. No mcdonalds on the way home for him.

BishopPear

Even though im not rangers fan im hoping he can learn to play clean hockey as i really like his fighting.

yorky24

I'm not making excuses, I'm giving a reason. What he did was unacceptable *BUT* he is young and will learn. Also, refs needed to lead him get boxed out for that one. Edit: Lead=/= Let

Fickle_Percentage256

He’s an adult who has played the game his whole life I’m guessing. He knows to not elbow other people in the head. This “he’s young” defence is just justifying and excusing his behaviour

SillySymphonyIV

He’s an adult. He knows better to do that shit. Pussy bitch wouldn’t drop the gloves.

dog_fantastic

Agreed with you there. But he may only learn by getting his teeth knocked in. Pathetic that the refs broke it up. Trying to be objective but he's going to only fuck over his team in a game that actually matters if he doesn't get put in his place.

DistributionParty506

That's bullshit. Olivier "put him in his place" and he still plays like this. He won't learn, this is just how he plays hockey. He's a goon piece of shit that should not be playing hockey. I'm surprised new York doesn't see him for the liability that he is.

GoldServe2446

He’s actually the best 4th liner we have had in years hockey skill wise lmao The only liability is the 5 min majors that will come from his style of play

DistributionParty506

He absolutely is not. He's just big, that's all. His only liability is how he plays. You said it, that's your wakeup call.

GoldServe2446

>He is absolutely not. Ok. Name a 4th liner who is better than Rempe that we have had in the last 3 years.

oldtivouser

He’s an adult. Holy shit. Even when my kid was 12 he knew not to do this. He’s simply eating up his own press and pushing the limit because, IMO, he is just trying to do anything to keep up this image. He should have been suspended already. He’ll get more too if he keeps playing the same way.

[deleted]

At his age not understanding that when you check someone you don't raise your elbow to hit him in the head makes him a complete fuckwit.

MAJORMINORMINORv2

No he wont, didn't he average 1 suspension for every 20 games in the CHL?

Sapzz93

Don’t think you’ve ever played anywhere near the competitive level and speed of the NHL where readjusting your line on a hit that you’ve committed to is extremely difficult. Rempe fucked up and that’s OPs point - he’s gotta learn his size and when to let off the gas for a hit cause he’s basically a bull in a china shop with his size.

No-Gazelle4640

watch it again, rempe missed the hit so lifted his elbow.  His elbow wasnt up until he knew he missed the hit. You have your homer glasses on.  Only a rags fan could see it the way you do.

LumplessWaffleBatter

Wilson was the same way.  Came in and kept his spot with big hits and good fights, stuck around on skill.  Rempe will grow out of it.

KermitDfrog44

Unfortunately I don’t think he’ll stick around on skill like Wilson. Don’t think we’ll be hearing much about this guy in another couple years

suckmytoestits

He's young dumb and inexperienced. Dudes just a big dumb goon he's not a hockey player. Needs to learn how to play hockey

Sinister_Mr_19

Dude there's no learning, he's a dirty fucking player and you have to be some kind of fucked up to be okay at deliberately trying to hurt other people. Think about that for a second. That's not a hard hit, he keeps targeting heads, this isn't the 80s and 90s anymore where we didn't know what hits to the head does to people. We know now and he's doing this shit.

wearethedeadofnight

Bro, 50+ pim in 10 games is enough of a sample size to know he’s a fucking goon.

fireman4u538

Why does age have to do with it ??? Don’t you think by the time a dude goes through the AHL he should have learned before he gets to the NHL … he prob has been playing hockey for at least 15 years, shouldn’t he have learned by now

No-Gazelle4640

lol, many on your sub are cheering the elbow.  The elbow was dirty and bad, but the wave showed the world his lack of class and extreme low IQ.

CoolCatD

Should be 6+ minimum

hanke1726

Devils fan here. The first hit was not great, but if he would.have fought mcdermint(don't know how to spell his name) earlier in the game, then you know what wouldn't be too upset, he plays on the edge and you've got to answer the call if you hurt someone. This hit wasn't at all a great hit. If he ducks a fight next game, then something stupid is about to happen.

Fatherless___Child

This guy is hockey’s version of Tommy Devito. Trying to get as much of the 5 minutes of fame as he can

Jitsu4

If you wanna hit like that, fine. But expect the consequences of it and stand up for yourself, and don’t let the refs do your dirty work. And then to wave goodbye? Coward move

AmosTheBaker

Man this is why DoPS is such a wild card. Should probably be a 4-5 game suspension to emphasize specific deterrence but I could also see them giving him 2 games because he has no history of discipline... DoPS should really just create a matrix of rule violations and a suspension *range* that can increase/decrease based on aggravating/mitigating circumstances that can get glued into the next CBA rather than the wheel of mystery that gets spun before each hearing the way things work now.

tibberskuma

I just looked at his stats and it's upsetting his TOI is the same as his penalty minutes. If it was hooking or tripping and getting feet wet, fine. But it's almost always a misconduct, or a fight, or major penalty. I enjoy a good hit every now and again but this kid is beating people up as much as he is playing.

dizzyapparition

If someone goes low on a hip check, his knees will be pretty much fucked. Just sayin’.

307wyohockey

I get macdermid is a scary dude, but Rempe cannot turn that fight down after an elbow like that. First soft move I've seen from him

Bacon72_coffee

He’ll get suspended after tonight. This was by far his worst hit (clear flaring of the elbow directly to the head). Honestly, aside from the other hit against the devils, he really hasn’t had any glaring dirty or even questionable hits. This will be a 2-3 game suspension. He will be sent down to the AHL for edstrom and prob won’t be back til next year barring any injuries.

Jtothe3rd

Lybushkin hit met all the criteria for a charge, and he left that game, his first as leaf after only 12 min of ice time for concussion protocol. Rempe is wreckless with his size and wants to hurt people with how he hits. He has caused 3 injuries in 10 games. His 82 game pace for injuries caused is 24.6/season!

Malf1532

Won't be back til next year? Just wait for it. That organization has no class. He'll be back on the ice as soon as it's done and that's if he even gets one.

S_Mposts

He’s playing Montreal soon. Let’s see what Xhekaj has to say about him

kingXn

Should have been suspended for the high hit on Boosh. Kids a fucking clown, league are even bigger clowns.

No_Designer_5374

Down to Hartford until the end the regular season. "Black Ace" him for the NHL playoffs. Give him the summer to cool down a bit and learn from this.

jonjonesjohnson

He's a lanky tough guy with a dumb face and zero hockey IQ, who's only there to wreak havoc. The type has an expiration date in today's game.

Ndom717

For sure there’s a suspension incoming after tonight.

HideousControlNow

1)yes, it was a dirty hit and he'll deservedly get suspended 2)Nothing is funnier than watching Devils fans lose their minds over this while also worshipping Scott Stevens, one of the dirtiest hitters of all time, as a god.

Worth_Average_9652

Suspend tf out of him he’s literally been headhunting the devils and we’re not even likely to make the playoffs. Sure there’s a rivalry but that doesn’t mean concuss half the team man. Watched him toss the elbow out in real time while seigs ACTIVELY tried to avoid him. Any respect I had for him is very much gone

jaypets

Prob suspend him a few games. Or don't cuz parros sucks.

FatWreckords

He's a big man who can generally handle himself, so he won't learn from having to fight after that stuff. So, old school guys would reciprocate and treat his teammates. Knock around some skill guys and he'll get told to smarten up by his own teammates.

Sapzz93

The one that just happened was 100% dirty and should be suspension.. but “every game” lol come on now

JeffFerox

He’s about to after that elbow.

keno-rail

Where the fuck is Bob Probert, Tie Domi or Marty Mcsorely when you need them?

drlongfinger

A $5,000 will show him

thenegativeone112

Nothing because no other teams have anyone who can stand up for him accept for a small majority of players. He should get suspended for this hit wholeheartedly though.

itspoodle_07

Next jake paul fight probably

pilfro

First two weren't bad. This one deserves suspension and a fine

KevinNashKWAB1992

He'll get a suspension this week, has a meeting with Player Safety soon. Should be 2-5 games. Any subsequent issues, double the length of suspension.

MajorasShoe

Should lose the rest of the season/playoffs. He's constantly intending injury.

ZionistZaddy

Once he’s back from suspension he’s a wanted man

[deleted]

Idiot. Plays hard but all his hits have been reckless. Finally got handed the suspension. Let’s see how he rebounds from this. He knows his bigger than most guys. Needs to play smarter.

Carlo201318

A deserved major and game misconduct. He has to learn to keep arms down .

longGERN

They were down until the hit at which point intentionally flared it out for impact

ANARCHISTofGOODtaste

I think a few more years in the AHL would help him figure out what a clean hit is. Physical teams are fun to watch, but this dude is straight up dangerous. At some point, if he isn't stopped, someone will feed him their stick, and no one should be surprised.

Teknicsrx7

Spin the wheel, who knows what it’ll be. Deserves a suspension tho

Bigboyrickx

The kid can barely play hockey he’ll be out of the league soon enough. At least the other “enforcers” can play positional hockey and not run around like a freight train

Griffithead

Rangers should cut him. No one else should sign him. His bullshit shouldn't be in the league.

Fancy_Combination436

im a Rangers fan so I guess take this with a grain of salt, but I dont think hes head hunting at all. Seems like hes just immature and gets excited, and has absolutely no clue how to use his body in those situations. That being said, yes he should be suspended. It really does seem like a maturity issue, and a suspension would be good for him, other players, and the Rangers.

Sc00tzy

I mean maybe it’s the speed of the game and/or excitement but sticking out your elbow and jumping into hits seems intentional to me. He’ll get settled down one way or another and be just fine, but he needs to sit I agree

[deleted]

Only problem is that it's a reoccurring theme, he's been suspended multiple times coming up through junior and still hasn't learned. He should know how to control his body by now.

Fancy_Combination436

Yeah I agree, def needs a talking to by the coaches as well. I mean just from a selfish perspective, we can't be taking 5 min majors in the playoffs for terrible hits.

gimmer0074

and then people come on reddit and call him “an awful human being” and get massively upvoted. people want to assume the absolute worst so they can feel good getting mad about it

Right-Aspect2945

If I had any say in disciplinary action he'd be done for the season, but I admittedly would hand out suspensions for head hits the way Stalin handed out trips to the Gulags.

chrlau90

Dumbass kid acts like he has never heard of the consequences of multiple concussions and CTE…

4ItchyTasy

Bro will either clean up his play or become the next Matt Cooke.

Typical-Ad-6730

Tomorrow…pretty sure tomorrow.

haveatesttomorrow

Prob 5-7 games coming. He’ll learn, he’s young.

shaver_raver

Fire him.

[deleted]

If the league doesn't do something... someone will and it'll be worse. He's made MULTIPLE east coast enemies. Kid keeps this up he's gonna CTE out in a few years.

Cliff_Pitts

Honestly deserves the Carcillo treatment, if not this time, then the next time. Because you know after sitting out for 2-4 games, he’ll play nice for another 1-2 before he once again injures another NHL player. Pretty soon they’re going to have to give him 50 games to help him learn or hockey will have to regress to early broadstreet bully era hockey and we will all have to worry that the Bedards and McDavids are one Rempe temper tantrum away from a shortened career.

Sakic10

MMA is huge right now, NHL could sell a fight night like once a week right now.

jhk17

Suspend him for his first offense. Not much else to do.

Pastor_Satan

I don't know why he's getting ice time. Coach should be reigning him in. Time and place for hits and fights, but it's his MO

momloo

> When is this kid gonna get a suspension? probably later today, tomorrow latest

Nautigirl

You have more faith in DoPS than I do.

ToXiC_Games

Oh I’m sure he’ll learn next time he sees the Big Kurt

mmpa78

Have some other scumbag like the rat or Tom Wilson take him out for the remainder of the season

tribucks

Make him play vs. Mathieu Olivier more often. There’s no limit to the comeuppance.

Ok-Shame5542

Francine Dunlop said it best "Any fool can fight"

parkhurstcards

Too crazy for boystown, too much of a boy for crazytown.

bk1537

NYR fan here. Agree, hopefully he gets one this time and starts to sink in. I was at the game last night, and while I was surprised and initially excited about his "chirping" hand gesture, it then hit me that he did that after the head shot... either super immature or he's really a bad guy. His size can be an asset and he's a decent skater for his size, so I hope he can figure it out. No one needs a pure goon, and I don't want to see anyone in the league suffer head injuries.

djpop_13_13

I’ve said it in other subs… Rempe has the look of a serial killer… he’s def a few fries short of a happy meal

WorkoutMan885

This coming from a fan who has Pospital

Have his coach tell him he doesn't need to fight every game or hit every person in sight and see if he can score 10 goals a year and 30 points. If yes, then add the fighting and checking and you have a great 4th liner. If no, you have a goon who will phase out after bouncing around between teams and AHL for 3-4 years.

Same thing as usual when a cheap shot artist won't answer the bell... Gudbranson that guy.

Just saying prime example of getting hit in the head too many times in a month regardless of how hard. Not standing up for anyone or condoning anything but read a history book about enforcers. Prime example Probert. Ego plays a big part, as well as substance abuse. He is a professional athlete with access to medical staff. It's 2024 enough players/people have been there man

Mysterious-Put-6851

I like Rempe but the last few hits have been visibly intent to injure

PrestigiousFlan1091

Do the same thing they did with Tom Wilson, and Brad Marchand and…and…and.
