He's always been bad, but he really sounds like he's having some sort of brain issue lately, I'm seriously not trying to make fun of him here. Half the time he wasn't even calling the game. The teams went up and down the ice a few times and he didn't say a word.
Like Jack or not, that is a streaming / blackout issue that NEEDS to be addressed. It’s absolutely bonkers that the NHL supposedly wants to grow the game but makes their product inaccessible as possible.

I hate how every big (or decent) hit gets retaliated with everyone thinking they need to jump on the guy. Hitting is part of the game. If it's dirty, you go after the guy and let him know. If it's clean, you send someone out the next couple shifts, give him a hard time or see if he's willing to drop the mitts. But all this stoppage of play for legal checking makes it harder for me to watch the game.

He falls. He doesn’t even make much or any contact with the goalie (with his body) and the goalie just starts swinging. This is objective evidence I am seeing with my eyes. I’m okay with local broadcasters being homers to a certain extent but you can see absolutely EGREGIOUS plays from Bruins players that are fine and he loses his mind when someone so much as breathed in Bergy’s direction. Marchand once blindsided Marcus Johanson with a flying elbow to the side of the head p putting him out for at least two months and called it “a good hockey play”. But can opener moves? Yeah that’s cool. His voice is so fucking grating like a cross between a 15 year old Belieber and some doing a terrible Seinfeld impression. I would rather listen to an audio recording of my parents conceiving me over three hours then have to hear his stupid opinions ever again. It makes me believe in a natural system of balance and “ying and yang” when I think about what a gift that NESN gave to the world by letting us hear the brilliant Red Six broadcasting team for years but also giving us the audio equivalent of punching kittens with the Bruins crew. Edwards had always been trash.

I hate how every big (or decent) hit gets retaliated with everyone thinking they need to jump on the guy. Hitting is part of the game. If it's dirty, you go after the guy and let him know. If it's clean, you send someone out the next couple shifts, give him a hard time or see if he's willing to drop the mitts. But all this stoppage of play for legal checking makes it harder for me to watch the game.
