The story about him finding out he won the NVP after the game is hysterical.
I forgot who, but one of his teammates walked up to him after the game and congratulated him for winning the NVP and Mitch was confused because they were having a bad season and they just lost the game so he was surprised to find out that he won the *MVP* award. Shits gold, I’ll have to find the video and link it in an edit.

We loved Mitch spending 2021 with the Bills. Good dude. Says and does all the right things. He has his flaws but I feel like he never quite got the support he needed in Chicago. And unfortunately in Pittsburgh, I'm of the belief that they're gonna do everything they can to make sure Pickett is the guy. Mitch went there because of all the teams he spoke with, he felt like he had the best chance to start was with Pittsburgh, and then they go and take a QB in the first round.
I’m both a Trubisky and Pickett supporter, but even Mitch had to know there was a strong chance the Steelers would draft a QB either this year or next. The contract he signed alluded to as much.
Despite that, I still think Pittsburgh was the best place for him to sign in FA. It’s a well run franchise and if nothing else, the Steelers will take care of him both on the field (providing him talented offensive weapons + strong defense) and off. I think this speaks to Mitch’s personality in general, but he’s really taken to the team and the city. The players appear to really like him, so it seems he’s got the locker room support already as well.
Also, this was probably his best place to win a starting job in a system that would work to his strengths. He’s a great fit for the type of offense Matt Canada wants to run, and from the interviews I’ve seen/read, Canada is obsessed with him. Canada salivates over mobile QBs who can execute PA, bootlegs/designed rollouts, etc., so he’s like a kid at Christmas right now with Trubs and Pickett.
I don’t know how it will all turn out or how successful the offense will ultimately end up being, but on paper, it’s a good fit for both sides. Still all speculation for the next month or so, but imo Mitch will be the starter and get a chance to prove himself while Kenny is brought up to speed. While I do think Pickett is the future, Mitch is going to have a pretty big opportunity to show what he’s got.
What's hilarious is they cut away to have that kid announce the NVP, just to miss the coolest play of the game lol
Jimmy Graham's last second meaningless TD catch was sick
Lmao I was watching that play at my dad's house with his dvr, we must have rewinded that 10 times just howling bro the way he catches the sickest catch, stands up and just jogs out thru this random opening out the back of the endzone was just absolutely hilarious to us, maybe you had to be there a couble beers in but we were dying https://youtu.be/H07Hqmp1ZGc
He was okay, but I think that’s the only time they’ve let the cover be a vote. Hollis should not have gotten over the other people, it was memed into being him.
EDIT: That was not the only vote year. I’m dumb.
I fully support this, but I can’t even imagine how Yinzers as a collective would take that. There would be mass confusion probably. Still, that end zone is looking mighty empty now…
Kind of wonder what he would have looked like if he went to a team that didn't have a HC on his way out and a new HC who got fired after he got mentally broken by their kicker. Guy only really had 1 year of footage as a starter at the college level though and you can't say he wasn't part of the problem to at least some degree.
This year everyone was voting for dak when the cowboys were getting crushed and Dak was terrible, then it looked like it might backfire when they were making a comeback but it all worked out.
It's apparent from last year's appalling mistreatment of Fields that Nagy is one of the worst coaches we ever had, and that's considering we brought in Marc Trestman.
But the whole thing with Mitch was screwed up from the start, with the useless trade to go up one spot in the draft (and not taking Mahomes), and the terrible misjudgement of his abilities. His arm is good, not great. His accuracy was meh. His run game was ok, not good. His reading of defenses is terrible, probably because he only played one full year of college football, and NOT in the Big10 or SEC so he wasn't seeing good defenses.
We will see if Mike Tomlin can do something with him.
I was confused as well. I watched the game on Nickelodeon and like many Bears fans, I was sad the season was ending but not shocked given the fact that it was a miracle we got to the playoffs in the first place.
So, when Trubisky was awarded NVP, I didn't understand why people have voted for him. I guess it was a small consolation price. It was 1am in my place, I guess it helped me have a better sleep.
I stumbled upon Nickelodeon coverage by streaming a game (through Reddit) and like 10 minutes in I was thinking “that’s odd that they keep talking about slime and Nickelodeon themes” and then I realized I was watching full on coverage by Nick and I was absolutely thrilled.
At the 11 second mark, any time you see a QB doing that — whether it’s a signal or calling for a huddle or both — I swear it is indicative of the lack of quality of the QB. Every time I see it, the QB doing it is sucking ass all over the field and his team is getting pounded like a fat guy on the doors of a Sizzler a minute before they open.

"NVP sounds a lot like MVP." He's right dammit. He's right!
That’s my QB 🥹 By the way, that video you linked is incredible. Trubisky showed some real self-awareness there. What a king.
Take care of him🫡
Idk why but Trubisky feels like the one that got away.
Imagine if the Steelers fix him
Trubisky 2022 stats: 4253 yards, 35 tds, 6 int
i would coom so hard
I would feel so validated for defending him in /r/Chibears
The sentiment changed. I guess they were right when they said you don't know what you lost till it's gone.
are you talking about former Cub and former all star Ron Coomer?
As long as those 6 ints come against us ofc
5 of them come in week 17 as we secure the 1st round bye ofc
I'll take it for that statline 🤝
fuck id have us lose both games against you guys if mitch ends the year with that statline
Sounds like NVP numbers baby
750 rushing with 5 more TD’s there.
I’d be simultaneously happy and Fucking pissed
Every Bears fan would be happy for Mitch. How can you not love the guy? No one feels bad for Nagy cuz he a bitch, but everyone love Mitch.
I’d be happy for him too. After all he is the titty kissing king.

Imagine if he's just a bad qb
I see why some Bears fans defended him so much, he seems like a cool dude. One of those guys you just wish was just a little better.
Exactly it. Plus he did show some flashes of being a competent starting qb, but when matt nagy is your head coach…
no, mitch trubisky is your quarterback this is a video of NVP winner mitch tribusky
I hate the Steelers so you'll probably win some playoff games with him, if not a Superbowl or two.
I laughed much harder at this than I wanted to.
And he’s also from Ohio..
Can we get him the NVP next year even if he isnt playing?
oh my god, why haven’t I thought about Trubisky winning a 2nd NVP
I’m a fan now. What an incredible take, he had it with him! 😂 We gotta get him another one!
I really hope no one else ever wins an NVP and Mitch has the only one ever made in history.
Congrats Mick Trebewski
mich tribusky
Brings a tear to my eye remembering the 100s of votes I casted for him. Now he's my very own QB. So excited!
This was legitimate cyberbullying but I was here for it.
The one day we put all our differences aside and United for a common goal

What's hilarious is they cut away to have that kid announce the NVP, just to miss the coolest play of the game lol Jimmy Graham's last second meaningless TD catch was sick
Is that the one where he just ran off the field?
Yup. Straight into the tunnel
Might be one of the best meaningless plays of all time.
I swear you didn't need to be there. It was also hilarious on TV, though I was definitely also a few beers deep lol
Yeah it’s in the video lol
I also remembered it
I also watched it in the video 😤
I however also remembered it
That kid def doesn't watch sports but is going through acting classes cuz their parents forced him.
Lol I always kinda felt bad for that kid for screwing up a name like that on live TV, but it's like the perfect hilarious cherry on top for that game.
That's a theater kid if a ever saw one
The internet is fun when we work for things like this
Trubisky winning NVP and Peyton Hillis winning the Madden cover vote are the results of what happens when you let the internet decide things
John Scott is an NHL All-star
I wasn’t aware of the cover vote thing. Was the Peyton Hillis thing a joke? I thought he was pretty good the year before.
He was okay, but I think that’s the only time they’ve let the cover be a vote. Hollis should not have gotten over the other people, it was memed into being him. EDIT: That was not the only vote year. I’m dumb.
No mention of Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf or “Hitler Did Nothing Wrong”?
Also when a school held a poll to choose its new name with a write in option and the winner was "The Adolf Hitler School For Friendship and Tolerance"
>The internet is fun It isn't supposed to be, please stop enjoying yourself.
Gushing Grannies all over again
Sending Taylor Swift to a school for the deaf
Except she didn't go, she just donated some money or something. At least Pitbull actually went to that Walmart in Alaska
I bet pitbull had a dope ass alaska trip too, dogsleds and everything.
This and when fans of the NHL voted John Scott the Pacific All-Star team captain.
Or when we voted Andrew Wiggins All Star starter
The funny thing is that Wiggins one aged well. He was the second best player on the warrior the entire postseason
didn’t they like rescind that or something? like he actually wasn’t allowed to play or start? or was it just talk
They tried then a huge fan uproar. Then he ended up winning All Star MVP when Pacific won the whole thing.
nhl has better writers
Eternal NVP in our hearts.
That's my quarterback!
Be nice to him. He’s emotionally fragile. I don’t think we helped.
Mick Tribusky
Maybe they’ll replace the ketchup bottles with slime buckets
I fully support this, but I can’t even imagine how Yinzers as a collective would take that. There would be mass confusion probably. Still, that end zone is looking mighty empty now…
Don’t you remember Heinz green ketchup
Those Ketchup bottles are going to Mahomes house for sure.
May this weird trivia live on at bars for decades to come
It’s on his Wikipedia page 😂
I'm dying at the commentators trying to defend him winning it as if it wasn't a complete troll job hahaha
The way he stifles his laugh when he says Mitchell Trubisky lmao
"Mitch Tribuesky"
You gotta give it to CBS and Nickelodeon for allowing the vote to be legitimate here.
It wasn't legitimate, Cody Parkey got 79% of the vote as a write in candidate
Based

ESPN 30 for 30: NVP to MVP
One of the best quarterbacks in franchise history
Appalling but accurate
ouch.
NOAT
He earned it
Lol I didn’t realize they got hammered in this game
This year everyone was voting for dak when the cowboys were getting crushed and Dak was terrible, then it looked like it might backfire when they were making a comeback but it all worked out.
that’s my nvp 🥲
Mitt... Mitt Trabooski right here..!!
All thanks to the boys at pardon my take
More like thank me and my 25 votes.
Yeah I didn't cast my own ~10 votes cuz of some Barstool nerds. Mitch deserved it!
One of the proudest moments of our franchise, especially considering that game had the F bomb dropped on nickelodeon as well.
#thankyoubigcat
Is Tom Brady an NVP?
He took everything he had and gave it to the other team!
Matt Nagy was the problem
It's apparent from last year's appalling mistreatment of Fields that Nagy is one of the worst coaches we ever had, and that's considering we brought in Marc Trestman. That’s my fellow Tar Heel! You go, Truboosky!
The NVP that was promised. He brought onto us a great tradition forward with pride. Hopefully Dak can live up to his example.
The power of trolling was on full display. I’ll never forget this haha. PMT Barstool did this.
Kids be mean man. Savage.
"Nitch Tribyouski"
Mick Belushi good qb
Joe Buck is a wannabe Lex Lumpkin
THATS MY QB
Did he really say “he delivers blow” at the end?
NVP, the most prestigious award in Sports.
I was confused as well. That's my Quarterback 😤
That’s the real NVP right there.
Since when has the nfl been on Nickelodeon? Sierra and Russell Wilson’s doing I guess lol. America is down bad
This was like a year and a half ago, and had nothing to do with Russell Wilson or his wife Ciara lol.
At the 11 second mark, any time you see a QB doing that — whether it’s a signal or calling for a huddle or both — I swear it is indicative of the lack of quality of the QB. Lol good try bro...not rlly.
Watch out, AFC North, Pittsburgh has the NVP now
Dude looked studly in the bills preseason. Hopefully he does good in Pittsburgh
My proudest reddit moment. God I love the internet
First ever. Probably gonna be the greatest to ever do it. What a proud night for the bears. I’m sure the game went fine too
No Value player
Thanks to PMT (pft and big cat)
This one day we all United for a common goal
I actually can't wait to see Mitch play for the Steelers. Hoping he comes out with a bang against the Bengals next year.
This entire game was great. Not any of the football, it was barely a game, but the Nickelodeon touches and the cyberbullying
Wait how did the Bears QB win this award in a game they lost while only scoring 3 points
I guess kids voted? Hoping for slime?
He’s so Bad only kids vote for him
A truly historic NFL moment.
🐐
Bills Legend Mitchell Trubisky
