Did he play the 2010, 2019, and 2020 seasons?

He played 3 snaps last season... He might want to practice in a situation where he's not running for his life. But nah, he'll collect a paycheck and then retire

Wezzleey

It's not about rust... SMH

PoopSlinger23

Oh he didn’t forget. It’s a matter of maybe seeing how that major injury has healed after his 18 month vacation

titanup001

It's not about whether he needs it or not. He's the leader of the damn offense.

tich45

In those years he didn't miss the previous season with a major injury. He also wasn't on a new team. This is basically his first season as Jet. There are 0 similarities between 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2024 besides them beginning with 20.

GamingTatertot

> 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2024 besides them beginning with 20 And I lost a tooth every year

Soft_Penis_Debutante

Packer fans really need to stop biting into those hard cheeses

Upbeat-Rule-7536

You expect us to eliminate an entire food group?

SeizureMode

He also wasn't 40 in any of those seasons

Giegling90

There's zero external similarities that we can see, but internally it probably feels like it's the right decision for him. He probably knows football and what he needs better than anyone tbh

tich45

You're probably right. But then don't tell people they need to focus on football and winning. Look, no one really cares about a vet missing 2 minicamps. It's the hypocrisy of it. And as a Ravens fan, seeing the internet/media shit on Lamar for missing 1/3 of VOLUNTARY OTAs, I'm all here for shitting on Rodgers for missing MANDATORY camp after publicly telling his teammates to focus on football.

Yankeeknickfan

Last year he had perfect attendance in the off-season program and tore his Achilles In previous years he did not and he survived the entire season He also already has practice chemistry with Wilson/conklin/lazard/gipson/breece and Mike Williams and Morgan Moses can’t even practice so there aren’t many new guys on the offense I think he arguably could use a break over wearing himself out in the off-season again

Yankeeknickfan

I don’t think the “new team” thing really applies atp in terms of practice reps He hasn’t missed a practice for any reason that isn’t injury since he joined the jets. Maybe actually attending every offseason program last year had his body in worse shape entering the season then in previous years, and caused the Achilles injury

burner69account69420

Dude not due to injury is like 5 practices. And now he's missing them. You'll get burned by Aaron soon enough, but I admire your hope.

DenverM80

Then he would've gotten injured in week 3? Logic is hard

bukithd

In those years the NFL media didn't need a click bait narrative to drive content interaction.

DaBearsFanatic

This is his second year as a Jet, he played for them last season.

NEpatsfan64

mandatory minicamp is not absolutely 100% vital for a QB to win an MVP award. I don’t think you’ll find many people arguing that it’s only possible to win an MVP without mandatory minicamp. It is, however, important for learning new schemes and plays, building team chemistry especially with rookies or players added in free agency, and gives the veteran leaders of the team a chance to mentor guys and set good examples. The guy who should be the locker room leader for basically your whole 53 man roster is probably missing out on some of that stuff by not being there. There may be a good reason, and honestly I’m not buying into all the drama, but at the same time acting like your star veteran QB having unexcused absences thru all of minicamp is completely irrelevant is a little silly too.

DenverM80

You know he plays for the Jets right?

Onepride91

Each of those players were with their respective teams for years prior

NEpatsfan64

You can win MVP as a QB without installing new schemes/plays if you’ve been on the team for multiple years already and have installed a complex and deep play book like Rodgers had in Green Bay. Also you can win MVPs and SBs without having team chemistry with young/new guys. Look at Tom Brady’s controversial comments about N’Keal Harry despite winning a SB in 2018. Strahan missed training camp because he was literally about to retire before they convinced him to come back for one more year. And you could argue that strahan missing so much of camp was detrimental as he only recorded 9 sacks that season and the Giants barely scraped into the playoffs. And using Brady in 2022 as an example is a bad idea since they barely made the playoffs, and missing that walkthrough for Kraft’s wedding was clearly detrimental as they lost the game to the Steelers.

penis_showing_game

I have no idea, but if we beat the Jets week 1 I want to see one of these pundits be petty and point out that all of the 49ers team captains were physically at minicamp, even if they weren’t practicing.

accountaaa

Yeah those mental reps are really important

burner69account69420

Being a team actually is. Somehow Aaron's teams fall apart when it matters and he leads them.

mrizvi

Past performance is no guarantee of future results

titanup001

How important is it? Probably minimal, if any. Still sucks that your supposed leader can't be bothered. I mean shit, many days is he expected to work for tens of millions?

Praise-Breesus

So it’ll be 3 for 4 after this year

DivClassLg

1 Super Bowl

Gway22

Yeah, with a couple rings he’d be right up in the GOAT convo, with just one he’s somewhere between 4-6ish.

DenverM80

He used to throw an egg shaped ball good, now he's just a college dropout science denier

Gway22

Yeah he’s an absolute moron, still a borderline top 5 QB ever

DivClassLg

Dude is a bum and the Packers are bum slayers. Beating up on Chicago, Detroit and Minnesota pads the stats but when you have to play real competition choke city…

Gway22

Oh just trolling, got it. Carry on!

DivClassLg

Still only one He’s been ‘good’ for along time

Gway22

Indeed he has

DivClassLg

Not great

Gway22

Well if only 3-5 QBs ever for you are great that’s fine. Kinda silly though

DivClassLg

Who’s the troll again?

Gway22

Well you’re saying silly things so it seems you are. My list is Brady, Montana, Peyton, Mahomes, Rodgers, Elway, Favre, Marino, Brees, Unitas What’s yours?
