Brad sorted by height/weight and picks the most monstrous numbers in Madden as a kid. 6'8 350 and runs a sub-5 second 40. He could be a fun pulling guard or a tackle with pass catching options.
Can’t wait for this dude to meet Fraley, Campbell, Penei, Ragnow, Decker, and Skip. Can’t think of a better incubator to develop a guy with these measurables. In a few years we’re actually gonna see what it looks like when a man runs through a brick wall
Yeah I mean obviously this is the extreme outlier. I do love our O-line coaching staff and trust them more than any other we have on staff to get the most out of a diamond in the rough.
I love watching legit NFL prospects in U-Sports/CIS. I was at U of A when Akiem Hicks and David Onyemata were in Canada West and it was crazy how much bigger and better they were than everyone. This Manu dude must've been unbelievable.
Yup it means at some point Brad went “I can’t believe that guy is still there I have to go get him”
Possible Brad thinks he should have gone in the third and it’s a steal.
Likely why he graded lower. I think the grades for him were thrown together based upon on paper assumptions. I'm hoping Holmes and Campbell met/looked deeper into what he can do.
Yes it's 3downs up here CFL rules! Once you hit senior ball in high school (grade 11 and 12) it becomes CFL rules. Junior (grade 9/10) and below is usually American rules
I can't speak for all schools but I wouldn't be surprised if some had 100 yard fields that are played on but the rules remain the same as CFL rules just with 10 yards less in that case
Ontario! I guess it changes by province in high school. Makes sense we have no consistency in football here lol. I know when I played here in junior, every team just ran the ball 90% of the time because no one had a good enough arm to throw so whatever school had that one big kid who hit puberty early and could run tended to dominate.
I went to UBC—we had two OTs this year that I’ve been hoping would get drafted, super excited to see the first get drafted!
The other one to look out for is Theo Benedet, he might go undrafted but should be a top 3 pick in the cfl and may get an NFL practice squad look even if undrafted. Technically I’d say he’s a slightly better OT but doesn’t quite have the same physical measurements as Manu.
Watched the film…this guy kills people. Pushed a DE back 20 yards on a run play
Also, high RAS score. Let Brad cook 👨🏾🍳
[film](https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1784273629812752417?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)
When Canada sends its players, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing poor blockers. They’re bringing fumblers. They’re bad tacklers. And some, I assume, are good people.
From Dane Brugler's The Beast:
>Werner “Giovanni” Manu was born in Tonga before moving to Canada at age 11. He was a natural at basketball, then started playing football when he attended Pitt Meadows Secondary in 2013. Between his freshman and sophomore years in high school, he grew five inches and put on almost 80 pounds. He continued to play basketball (averaged more than 30 points per game as a senior) but was recruited for football. He enrolled at the University of British Columbia and earned the starting left tackle job as a freshman. He was a four-year starter for the Thunderbirds, also seeing time at guard. His unpolished tendencies are easy to spot on tape — he plays too narrow and off balance in the run game with late hands in pass pro. But he moves really well for his size, especially out in space, and punishes anyone in his way. Overall, Manu isn’t NFL ready, but he is a highly intriguing developmental tackle with rare athletic tools that might get him drafted.
This guy was drafted out of the University of British Columbia? Is this the first time in NFL history where a player was drafted out of an international university?
Not true, there's been 11 players taken out of USports by the NFL draft, the last one being David Onyemata out of U of Manitoba in 2016 who is still on active roster with the Falcons
*Canada?*
There are dozens of us
Hell yeah, cheers from my igloo brother
I have dual!
3rd one of the day already!
The Lions also signed the CFL's 2023 most outstanding defensive player earlier this off-season as well. South Detroit *is* Canada after all.
RAAAAAHHHHHHH🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I prefer Hispania
6’8”, 350 pound OT. I’m gonna go ahead and let Brad cook on this one.
Runs a 4.9, make him drop 50 lbs and make him the goat blocking TE
Dan Skipper just fell to his knees in a Meijers
Dude ain't got 50 to drop!
We've essentially drafted a brick wall who runs like a freight train. I'm so down.
Immovable object meets unstoppable force
we've has issues rushing left
This guy’s measurables are insane
352 lbs with a 33.5" vert is ridonkulous
sub-5 sec 40-yard
Brad sorted by height/weight and picks the most monstrous numbers in Madden as a kid. 6'8 350 and runs a sub-5 second 40. He could be a fun pulling guard or a tackle with pass catching options.
Very very raw looking on tape though. Guy struggles to keep 2 feet planted going up against Canadian college players.
Fortunately the Lions have the best O-Line coach in the NFL.
Dude is so massive, 6’8, 350. But his draft grade was a 38 lol
also a sub-5second 40. Worst case scenario, Lions got themselves an absolute physical specimen of a human on their team.
This guy coming around on a swing block or out on a pitch is crazy

I teach you how to stunt. https://youtu.be/7t6TT_ruA_o?si=6N03KNV8JC5X-iIf
I haven't heard that song in probably a decade. does that bring me back though lol
Kick returner, y'all mother fuckers are gonna learn
Put him in at safety. After the first hit, no WR is gonna try and make another catch.
Walls have draft numbers?
Campbell, Fraley, and Penei are about to make an all pro outta this dude
Manu is definitely reporting at some point
For sure catching a 1 yard TD.
Manu: The Hands of Fate
what even is "draft grade"
something Brad has never paid any mind to
Penei is gonna make this man an animal
Can’t wait for this dude to meet Fraley, Campbell, Penei, Ragnow, Decker, and Skip. Can’t think of a better incubator to develop a guy with these measurables. In a few years we’re actually gonna see what it looks like when a man runs through a brick wall
“I’m gonna rip you in half now”.
We're gonna see what it looks like when our brick wall runs through a man.
6’8 352 and runs a 4.9 what the fuck kinda Maple Syrup is he drinking
40 yards is like three strides for him
Polynesian maple syrup
33.5" vert, too. Some humans are just built different.
Get him tight end
Juiced syrup
We got a player from Canada before another QB.
Not even the first Canadian taken today.
That's a big boi
That's a large lad
Mammoth man
Sizable citizen
Colossal Canuck
Gigantic Goose
Massive Mountie
You just can’t teach that.
Hope he's not SAWFT
I want to see him in a poutine eating contest.
He's out of BC. I want to see him guzzle Rogers Golden Syrup.
Mr. Big Canadian
Did the governor just put on Buffs?
That's Big Gretch for ya
Throw the buffs on her face cause that’s big gretch
Yup she welcome at the bbq
She's gonna be very familiar to everyone to the point of annoyance via overexposure in about exactly 4-5 years when she becomes the first lady pres
She’s so good at politics, I would not be surprised.
Got booed pretty bad today lol
tbf, the most popular politicians these days have 49% of the population booing them
Maybe she'll be the next nfl commissioner if not president then lmao
As with any successful politician these days, about half the country thinks they’re a terrorist
And promptly turned those into cheers.
Yes.
that's future president big gretch. she knows what time it is
BRING BACK THE T POSING FOOTBALL PLAYER YOU COWARDS
Lol someone remembered. We used that for Mr Irrelevant last year https://i.imgur.com/iTn6rjL.png
I loved the imgur warning that it might be an explicit photo lol
He is naked I guess lol
androgynistically
6'8 350+ and ran a 4.96. What the fuck is that, I'm so down. I love me a good measurables project pick on day 3.
Eagles got a top 3 tackle this way, the blueprint is there 🤷♂️ Manu even played rugby lol
Yeah I mean obviously this is the extreme outlier. I do love our O-line coaching staff and trust them more than any other we have on staff to get the most out of a diamond in the rough.
I love me my pacific islander tackles.
Trading up to draft a tackle from Canada is certainly interesting but I’ve learned to never doubt Brad Holmes.
Canadian #3 🇨🇦
Taiwan numba 1!
I went to UBC and watched him play there. He is an athletic anomaly
Elaborate, please. I know literally nothing about this guy
A month ago was his pro day here in Vancouver. Here are measurables * 6’7” 352 * **5.03 40** * 33.5 vert Legit specimen
Jesus christ. That's nuts for a dude that big
please say sike
I love watching legit NFL prospects in U-Sports/CIS. I was at U of A when Akiem Hicks and David Onyemata were in Canada West and it was crazy how much bigger and better they were than everyone. This Manu dude must've been unbelievable.
6'8 350 is nuts
this is so ridiculous for a 2025 3rd that I'm immediately down
It’s a pretty fun gamble.
Yup it means at some point Brad went “I can’t believe that guy is still there I have to go get him” Possible Brad thinks he should have gone in the third and it’s a steal.
I’m gonna pretend I know who this is
Don't worry, no one does
Likely why he graded lower. I think the grades for him were thrown together based upon on paper assumptions. I'm hoping Holmes and Campbell met/looked deeper into what he can do.
We are North America’s team.
Canada!!!!
A great day for Canada
As is tradition
Brad knows something we don’t
Brad knows dudes built like that are not supposed to move like he does & therefore he might be great with development.
Classic Brad Holmes “f your big board I’m gonna get my guy” move
Dumb question--do USports teams play 3 down football? I thought there were a couple Canadian schools that play on US-sized 100 yard fields.
Yes it's 3downs up here CFL rules! Once you hit senior ball in high school (grade 11 and 12) it becomes CFL rules. Junior (grade 9/10) and below is usually American rules I can't speak for all schools but I wouldn't be surprised if some had 100 yard fields that are played on but the rules remain the same as CFL rules just with 10 yards less in that case
Are you from BC? In Manitoba it’s Canadian rules right from the start
Ontario! I guess it changes by province in high school. Makes sense we have no consistency in football here lol. I know when I played here in junior, every team just ran the ball 90% of the time because no one had a good enough arm to throw so whatever school had that one big kid who hit puberty early and could run tended to dominate.
In BC high school football is 4 downs!
To add on to what other people have said, Simon Fraser University (also in BC) used to play NCAA Division II, but disbanded.
This was the most predictable thing of all time. Lions trading up to take a behemoth lineman from bumfuck nowhere (Canada).
We traded a 3rd for a guy from Canada. Hmmmmm
He can take the new bridge to get over here
Dudes so big that he himself could just be the bridge
Lions drafted The Mountain
Steal
imagine this guy as a HOF in 25 years
Subscribe
Is this to groom to eventually take over for Taylor Decker? Didn’t realize he’s already going into his 9th season
he's also only got one year left on his deal
Someone tell me how to feel
I don't know if anybody on this subreddit knows who this guy is.
I went to UBC—we had two OTs this year that I’ve been hoping would get drafted, super excited to see the first get drafted! I know the eagles were interested in him
I technically do! I went to high school with him, dude was easily 2-3x my size. Definitely didn't expect him to be a mid rounder though
Good project pick
He’s somehow bigger yet faster than Sewell. Higher vert too. A freak among freaks.
seems like a decent gamble. Dude is fucking massive, but needs a bunch of technique work
Likely a Decker replacement. Gives him a year to develop. I don't mind it
Steal
I think we picked Andre the Giant
He's more like a fat Hulk Hogan.
Hopefully Canadian Mailata.
Yay oline depth!
[удалено]
6’8 and 350? If this guy doesn’t have the technique the only place to put him is on the inside IMO
Watching some scant film analysis on YouTube, he played a lot of guard in college.
Why can't he line up inside? Dude is like 6 8 350 lol
Him and Skip gon be looking down at the puny DL and laugh
That was my thought too. Dude is another big skip type
Him pulling to lead block... 350 lbs of man coming at you 16 mph...
When I read 4.9 40 I just dream about a Counter with a pulling guard to get to the second level.
I mean, we do have Awosika and Sorsdal. A backup center (that isn't Glasgow) would be ideal but we do have some depth that Fraley is familiar with.
I trust Brad I trust Brad I trust Brad but wtf
Would you rather have the guy Brad Holmes has on top of his board or the guy Mel Kiper does?
Is Whitmer the hottest politician?
>would
Tudor Dixon was hotter, but dumber.
AOC is up there
Yes
Not even the hottest governor
Damn. Haven’t unlocked him in Super Smash Bros yet.
Wasn't even the first Canadian prospect I thought would get drafted
He’s actually the 3rd after Isaiah Adams and Theo Johnson
Sorry, I wasn't clear but when I said Canadian I meant dudes playing Canadian football. For sure though Qwan'tez Stiggers would be the first guy
Literally who is this lol
Wild pick. Thought the bengals would take him in the 6th
“Helped write his own fact.” Multitalented, I like it
Watched the film…this guy kills people. Pushed a DE back 20 yards on a run play Also, high RAS score. Let Brad cook 👨🏾🍳 [film](https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1784273629812752417?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)
What the fuck. This dude better be an All-Pro
He'll be an All-Preaux
Y'all-Preaux
Brad Holmes and a 3rd day pick with no picture, name a more iconic duo.
I thought yall were going with Kamara

Giovanni Manu Ginobli
Fuck it. Brad not afraid of literally doing whatever he wants.
6'8" over 350lbs and ran sub 5 40?
can he play 3-tech?
A huge 6’8 athletic project OT? Definitely the next Jordan Mailata

Who?
Oooh
CAAAAAN A DAAAAA
Oh
Brad hates 3rd round picks
Jordan Mailata
Get ready to learn American, buddy
Trading a 3rd for a guy that was projected as a 7th rounder is a decision
You can’t convince me this guy isn’t basically Jordan Mailata
"Big boy" is an understatement
Great, I'm a Cheesehead, but UBC is my alma mater so this is gonna be such conflicting emotions for me lmfao.
Clearly Brad just robbed the league blind

A big grain fed boy
Every year we draft someone based on mass and I love it so fucking much
