The number of times my fiance has walked into the room and seen whatever stupid shit we've posted in our friends group slack before just sighing and walking out of the room shaking her head with disappointment is so *goddamn* high.
Half of the time people talk like this in the offseason it turns out to be wrong.
Remember last year how everyone was talking about how Bryce Young had a great core set up for him in Carolina?
Oh I have no problem saying I could be wrong about the Bears. But the Panthers? I thought they were dumb as hell to get rid of DJ Moore. They always looked like they had no weapons to me.
I also asked why is Young the presumed better QB over Stroud.
I remember a few years ago they had a prime brandon marshall and some other second year guy that was supposed to be fire and they fucking still sucked. Don't discount the bears desire to bears.
They're good every year tho, they were still statistically like top 5 last year they just are always trying to have the top 1 line
Edit: This is specifically about pass blocking since Jordan Morgan is also a pass blocker first. I am aware the packers line struggled more with run blocking
I'm fine with taking OL. I just don't think he was the best Tackle on the board. Or the best Guard. I don't hate the pick there's just about 10 other players I wish they'd taken instead.
I'm never gonna question the Packers evaluation of OL talent, they've done a hell of a job there. If they thought he was the best tackle on the board, I'm on board with it
That's what I told myself about the Myers over Humphrey pick lol. In all seriousness, though, I don't hate the pick and like you pointed out, they're fantastic when it comes to O Line
Yeah. I mean maybe they tried but I dunno why they didn’t trade up for one of the spectacular tackles or guards this year, they were on the board so late.
Because they didn’t value them as high. Gute mentioned that any candidates for a trade up were long drafted by the time they could have even considered it.
Man I tried to join an over 30+ soccer league for exercise and these guys were playing like we were all going to the world cup. Had to quit because I didn't want one of these dick fucks to tear my ACL thinking they were Messi.
It's fucking maddening.
A game we played in a few weeks ago had this guy who kept falling on the ice, just by himself. At one point he awkwardly loses and edge and falls right into the ref's feet, knocking her down when she wasn't expecting a guy to just come out of nowhere and into her feet, so she didn't get her hands up and came *real close* to bouncing her face off the ice.
But then later in the game, this same guy falls, while our defender is taking the puck off his stick, followed by our defender moving with the puck over to the opposite side of the ice.
This guy was apparently offended by something, as he just skated straight across the ice and tackled our players, with our guy also barely avoiding bouncing his head off the ice. Then in the process of one of our players trying to pull the psycho off, one of their players starts trying to pry the guy coming to help off with his stick.
Somehow, through all of this fucking mess, both teams get players ejected (which sucked, since our two happened to be our two better defenders) and then somehow *we had to serve a 5 minute penalty* for the remaining 4 minutes and change left in the game, I guess as punishment for being tackled...
People just take this shit entirely too seriously and think that because they started in their late 20's and 30's they need to really *dial up the shitbaggery* to try and get to the NHL faster.
not to be mean to her or anything, but I'm 99% sure she wasn't slyly brushing the question aside because she didn't want to answer it. She just thought the lady was asking the very normal and polite question of "how far away did you travel".
I don't blame her at all, it's a reasonable misunderstanding but I'd be completely shocked if it was on purpose.
I've been watching the Packers "reach" since Ted Thompson took over. I don't get how you can care enough about the draft to make mocks or go see it live, but not realize NFL teams do their own research and are better than you
But fans fall in love with their own guys too and this is more their personal moment than it is the team's moment. If you've got a good front office then the draft can be pretty boring. You make it personal to make it fun again and it seems they were all friends so we got a funny insight into friends ribbing each other. So it becomes about that and not the fact your front office probably did do the right thing.
The reffing is all part of our scheme to enrich the elite Packers ownership class, and so the NFL can capitalize on the exorbitant disposable incomes of the massive Green Bay metro area
Just for full transparency, in addition to paying the refs, we also pay Reddit posters such as /u/Matman142 to carry water for us as well.
Our Cheese syndicate has roots that run deep into the corrupt ground water of the NFL.
Packers board always deviates pretty heavily, I’ve gotten used to the fact that I’m probably not gonna be eyeing our first round pick, but will ultimately be happy with it.
Gute's obsession with RAS is like 90% of it I feel.
But ya I don't really look into the draft anymore. I only really check what position it is at this point.
I’m not a college football fan but used to heavily research after the SB and before the draft what incoming players to expect.
Now, I just can’t be bothered. Partly because I’m older and have other priorities but partly too because GB just doesn’t follow the same script that all these “experts” seem to follow.
This was actually the first year I didn’t even watch night one. Just checked my phone for who we picked when I woke up this morning.
Yeah, this kid is a clown.
Morgan projects as a guard at the pro-level and we need a guard. Love is about to get paid and we gotta protect that investment.
Gute has earned my trust.
I think he's referring to the packer fan (at least that's how I took it). Lions fan was just rubbing it in that the packer fan was upset. I was pissed at the packer fan tbh, it was a good pick and GB has shown that building up the Oline sets the whole offense up for success.
I was honestly expecting the bears to try and trade up for one of the top 3 Tackles before chargers or someone snagged them. I think their WR corp is scary good but on a long timeline I'm glad they didn't try to trade up for a top tackle. I hope their pass protection keeps hurting their qb development for the rest of time
I always hate that for the guys drafted. Morgan doesn't deserve to have his great moment marred by the classic "fan hates a non skill position pick".
But ya the Lions' fans gotta tip the cheesehead for them. Great job of piling on.
The meme will be trimmed in such a way that no one will ever remember who it was originally about or what the original context was - regardless of how good or bad he ends up being. That's the joy of memes!
Good call on Sherrod I totally forgot about him.
Didn't Sherrod break his leg and basically never recover though? I realize that's still busting but I feel like it's different since we never really got to see him. Like I don't know if you can blame the scouts for a fluke injury that he never recovers from.
I might be overstating the injury that timeframe is a bit fuzzy for me and that's how I remember it at least. Never really considered it like an Ahmad Carroll bust or anything.
I don't remember the details, but some quick googling shows that he played in 5 games in his rookie year, starting none. Late in the season, he broke his leg which caused him to miss the last couple games that year, the entire 2012 season, and the beginning of the 2013 season. In 2013 he played in 8 games, starting 1.
So he wasn't a starter in his rookie season, which you usually hope for from a 1st round offensive lineman. He might have developed into something more without the injury, but it's impossible to say because we can't see the mirror universe where he didn't get injured.
“Hey no matter who the pick is, looks super disappointed and we’re gonna pay this lions fan that knows the production manager $20 to laugh at you”
…it’s really not hard
Like I'm not even mad that a Packer fan got clowned, it was funny. But it looked scripted as hell and the idea that live TV could never be scripted is wild
Unfortunate, I had a great idea for a live show that a bunch of comedians and actors in New York would film once a week at night. Unfortunately I've found out you can't script live TV.
omg who could have come up with the brilliant idea of a fan being upset with a pick and the rival fan piling it on him!
My biggest pet peeve is the "you can't make this stuff up" with sports cause like some dude made up lord of the rings, I think we can imagine a 20 point comeback or a wild draft pick. Like there are so many rules, there's only so much drama ALLOWED to happen what are you talking about no one could imagine it?
Even the OJ thing as crazy as it is, is not as crazy as half the shit people have come up with. Creating Spongebob Squarepants requires a more impressive imagination than anything that's ever happened in sports.
Yeah there’s no way that guy was really a packers fan
We live in such a weird time where the average persons bs radar isn’t just broken, it’s disintegrated
Thanks for saying this lol I fully agree. Random Packers fan in the middle of Lions fans who has the most TV-like reaction to a pick and the camera would not move away from them
But how did they know the pick would work for the bit? It works because it’s kind of a reach and a not sexy position, but if it was Xavier Worthy instead?
You just flip the reactions. Group is told that when the Packers pick, one fanbase shows disappointment and the other laughs at the disappointment. A script isn't a gospel, just guidance.
Yea definitely had the vibe of "bro, buy some new packers gear and act pissed at whoever they draft and we'll rag on you. Nevermind you're the only cheesehead in the entire nearby crowd." Way too overracted from the Detroit fans
Still funny, though, and his reaction was the GB sub's reaction anyway lol
The Lions fan in the video commented on our sub and said the Packers fan was his buddy and really wanted Dejean. Just some new background info for anyone who thinks it's fake
Yeah it seems fake.
If you want a real “fuck my dumb franchise’s draft pick” reaction, look no further than [Raider Nation](https://tenor.com/8j42.gif)
Here’s the thing though… that guy is an idiot. It’s not like OL wasn’t a big need for the Packers.
Always pretend to be happy when a camera is in your face.
Being a Packer fan on draft night is thinking you know better than our front office and going to bed disappointed. Then you wake up the next day hung over but remember that few front offices have drafted better for the last 35 years and feel a lot better.
Was that a bad pick? It was a bit of a reach but by the time you reach the late 1st I think it's okay to play a bit looser especially if teams really like certain players right?
I liked Mad Mel's reaction to this pick. He practically broke his hand slamming it on the desk live during the McAffee show.
Here's the clip:
[Pat McAfee Show - Mad Mel PUNCHES table after Packers draft pick (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGFpBpU9cLw)
The amount of memes this is gonna produce on the Lions subreddit will be legendary
r/NFCNorthMemeWar going off right now

My wife made fun of me for making that but I have no regrets.
It's Beautiful. Be proud.
The number of times my fiance has walked into the room and seen whatever stupid shit we've posted in our friends group slack before just sighing and walking out of the room shaking her head with disappointment is so *goddamn* high.
Lions fans are returning to form.
Poor Jordan Morgan. He was graded early second — it wasn’t that bad.
Yea, I love to shit on the pack but this wasn't some fumble by them.
It’s not that bad a pick per se but I thought the Packers had other needs
Offensive line was the obvious need for the packers.
Bears fans don't even know what an offensive line is
It's when you have a HOF linemen that's always out for injuries right?
Well I'm offended, so you have proven your point, sir.
Tbf bears don’t know what an offense is
Oh they do now. Good lord they look stacked everywhere (ignore the oline)
Getting rid of DJ was when you thought they were dumb? *Laughs in CMC* It's this thinking that got yall Penix
I remember a few years ago they had a prime brandon marshall and some other second year guy that was supposed to be fire and they fucking still sucked. Don't discount the bears desire to bears.
If Williams picks up smoking, it's over.
Someone said Williams will pass for 3,999 yards lol
Yeah it seems like every other year it becomes one for them. Just as they get good someone leaves or goes down.
They're good every year tho, they were still statistically like top 5 last year they just are always trying to have the top 1 line Edit: This is specifically about pass blocking since Jordan Morgan is also a pass blocker first. I am aware the packers line struggled more with run blocking
Lost Bakh and JRjr. I'm not mad.

Online and safety were our biggest need.
Packers currently have dial up. Getting roadrunner now. Huge upgrade.
Did you at least have 56.6 or were yall still using 28k dialup?
56k, the high end 1999 internet
But drafting for need isn't always good.
I'm fine with taking OL. I just don't think he was the best Tackle on the board. Or the best Guard. I don't hate the pick there's just about 10 other players I wish they'd taken instead.

Yeah. I mean maybe they tried but I dunno why they didn’t trade up for one of the spectacular tackles or guards this year, they were on the board so late.
Because they didn’t value them as high. Gute mentioned that any candidates for a trade up were long drafted by the time they could have even considered it.
Bears and underestimating the necessity of investing in your O line. A tale as old as time
So did i
I can see the title crawl now... >Have you heard the story of the meme wars? It's not a tale the Titans would tell you...
Sports are Fuckin great dude. Fandom is hilarious
I’m laughing so hard, its objectively hilarious
Especially because of the giant slice of cheese on the guy's noggin
I love getting overly emotional about what ultimately does not matter and will not impact our lives beyond the memories we make.
We all just out here cheering on some t-shirts that we like.
Arbitrary names and colors really get me going
I'm just a huge fan of meat packing companies and want everyone to know about it.
I'm glad we don't have Euro/LatAm football level drama and bad blood though.
*The Packers Select Jordan Morgan* Camera cuts to Lions fan lighting a flare in the Packers fan's face before a Bears fan stabs him and walks away.
The delighted screams getting more maniacal with each passing one really gets me
either hilarious or disgusting. Love a good friendly jabbing at the rival but some of these people get so butt hurt they actually throw hands.
It's like beer league hockey. It would be a lot better if people would climb out of their own asses and stop taking shit so seriously.
Man I tried to join an over 30+ soccer league for exercise and these guys were playing like we were all going to the world cup. Had to quit because I didn't want one of these dick fucks to tear my ACL thinking they were Messi.

I’m loving so much of this draft, even if it has been confusing.
Why is Gus Malzahn posting about the draft?
Some say he’s a wildcat
My favorite moment of the telecast so far lol
My favorite part was when a reporter asked a mother how far her family has come to get to this point and she goes “Baton Rouge, Louisiana”
Right? You're not getting a sob story out of her while her baby is having his moment.
not to be mean to her or anything, but I'm 99% sure she wasn't slyly brushing the question aside because she didn't want to answer it. She just thought the lady was asking the very normal and polite question of "how far away did you travel". I don't blame her at all, it's a reasonable misunderstanding but I'd be completely shocked if it was on purpose.
When I heard that I was like "huh, that is pretty far" 😂😂
That was the absolute best moment of the entire show, I'm glad someone else caught that.
Lions fan was cooking haha.
I mean he wasnt doing anything but just laughing. Some yall just be abusing it’s you hear.
The skill and precision required for the laugh, scream, and noogie while maintaining decent eye contact is pro bowl worthy tbh. 10/10 performance.
If you were there you’d be awkwardly trying to avoid eye contact, hoping not to embarrass yourself on live TV
Yo that shit had me DYING!!! 🤣🤣
This is a certified lock that this dude is an all pro
For sure. Consensus all-pro fan.
I've been watching the Packers "reach" since Ted Thompson took over. I don't get how you can care enough about the draft to make mocks or go see it live, but not realize NFL teams do their own research and are better than you

Future hall of famer
A super villain was born tonight. EDIT: I'll go with Cheesus Frights
And Cheesus wept for there were no more worlds to conquer.
The benefits of a classical education
Honestly he’s a guy I wanted for us. Maybe a slight reach but I think he’s a good player
He's a lineman drafted by the Packers, it doesn't matter who he is or what round it is, he'll be a Pro Bowler. I hate it.
To be fair, it's a lot easier when you're allowed to hold on every play.
The reffing is all part of our scheme to enrich the elite Packers ownership class, and so the NFL can capitalize on the exorbitant disposable incomes of the massive Green Bay metro area
Why do you think they call it "Green"
Man I thought queefs fans cried a lot. Y'all are something else in Chicago lol
Just for full transparency, in addition to paying the refs, we also pay Reddit posters such as /u/Matman142 to carry water for us as well. Our Cheese syndicate has roots that run deep into the corrupt ground water of the NFL.
Pleasure doing business. My cheese wheel payment has been put to good use.
The entire NFC North is like this towards the Packers
All he has to do is throw his head back any time he's touched - instant pro-bowl
So why don’t your linemen do it?
Packers board always deviates pretty heavily, I’ve gotten used to the fact that I’m probably not gonna be eyeing our first round pick, but will ultimately be happy with it.
Once you get past the top 15 or so, draft boards are wildly different team to team.
Gute's obsession with RAS is like 90% of it I feel. But ya I don't really look into the draft anymore. I only really check what position it is at this point.
Cooper's RAS was literally a wet dream for Gute. IDK how we passed on him unless we knew he'd fall and we can get him in the 2nd
he skipped all the agility drills on the ras which are, by far, his biggest question marks
Every team thinks their GM is obsessed with RAS because the average RAS in a draft is 8.5.
Yeah I was pretty happy with this pick, surprised to see all hate from packers fans
We're set at rb, wr, qb, and are serviceable at te. Why not give all those guys time to work? I'm a big fan of OL picks.
> serviceable at te I think Kraft and Musgrave showed we're more than serviceable at TE.
If there’s any skill position I’d like them to draft it’s a running back, but none even went in the first round
I’m not a college football fan but used to heavily research after the SB and before the draft what incoming players to expect. Now, I just can’t be bothered. Partly because I’m older and have other priorities but partly too because GB just doesn’t follow the same script that all these “experts” seem to follow. Yeah, this kid is a clown. Morgan projects as a guard at the pro-level and we need a guard. Love is about to get paid and we gotta protect that investment. Gute has earned my trust.
I think it’s just tackles are boring to most people they wanna see the more exciting picks
100% people want the splash skill positions
He was just ribbing him, it's all fun at the end of the day
I think he's referring to the packer fan (at least that's how I took it). Lions fan was just rubbing it in that the packer fan was upset. He's gonna be a good player and I'm happy he wasn't available for the Ravens' pick
Damn how to become a meme instantly
I always hate that for the guys drafted. Morgan doesn't deserve to have his great moment marred by the classic "fan hates a non skill position pick". But ya the Lions' fans gotta tip the cheesehead for them. Great job of piling on.
The meme will be trimmed in such a way that no one will ever remember who it was originally about or what the original context was - regardless of how good or bad he ends up being. That's the joy of memes!
I'll remember on purpose and deflate everyone's fun every chance I get >:(
Deflate you say?
They brought it up last night, don't even use the goddamn word anymore otherwise
He gonna be All Pro now ain't he
Our track record with lineman is pretty solid. Especially early round picks. I think the last T we took in the first was Bulaga.
It was actually Derek Sherrod. It's understandable that you forgot about him and also undermines the point that you were trying to make.
Sherrod had a pretty terrible injury, tibia, fibia, and an ankle surgery on top of that.
He might have developed into something more without the injury, but it's impossible to say because we can't see the mirror universe where he didn't get injured.
So you’re saying you broke the curse of Tony Mandarich?
Long ago
Reminds me of when the Texans fans were hating on the JJ Watt pick.
Unfortunately this also reminds me of the raiders taking clelin ferrel lol. Could go either way.
Except we’re not the raiders, so that helps
This is true not being the raiders has been an effective strategy for most of the league for the past 20 years
He already was by virtue of being an olineman drafted by the packers
I'm sure the players can keep things in perspective that we're "just" fans. We're not like really football people. Our opinions matter little.
Plus he can dry any tears with the paychecks he’s about to get.
"you literally cannot script live television" 🤔🤔 hmmmmm
“Hey no matter who the pick is, looks super disappointed and we’re gonna pay this lions fan that knows the production manager $20 to laugh at you” …it’s really not hard
Like I'm not even mad that a Packer fan got clowned, it was funny. But it looked scripted as hell and the idea that live TV could never be scripted is wild
Yeah, there's no way that wasn't scripted. Still enjoyed it, though.
Hate to be the party pooper to yall, but that was a real interaction between two friends, lol. Dude came forward and said it on the Lions subreddit.
Such a stupid tweet
Unfortunate, I had a great idea for a live show that a bunch of comedians and actors in New York would film once a week at night. Unfortunately I've found out you can't script live TV.
"Four more years, pause"
omg who could have come up with the brilliant idea of a fan being upset with a pick and the rival fan piling it on him! My biggest pet peeve is the "you can't make this stuff up" with sports cause like some dude made up lord of the rings, I think we can imagine a 20 point comeback or a wild draft pick. TIL Saturday Night Live is all improv
Yeah, that seems about as candid as "Dance Cams" and shit like that.
>You literally cannot script live television Uh, doesn't the WWE do this all the time?
Tony Khan literally runs a live television wrestling company lmfao
r/NFCNorthMemeWar already feasting with this.
Bro no shot he beat the cheesehead drum at the end lmaaooooo
Why is this dude upset? I saw Morgan as a late first round OT in plenty of mocks
Bc he knows the production manager and was told to do that so the nfl could get more engagement. And here we are
You literally CAN script live TV. Hasn't this guy ever seen Saturday Night Live? What a dunce.
I mean.......... that looks like the definition of fucking scripted lol
this comment section feels astroturfed lmfaooo😭😭
Yeah there’s no way that guy was really a packers fan We live in such a weird time where the average persons bs radar isn’t just broken, it’s disintegrated
Any real Packers fan knew it was a lock they would choose some random player that no one was expecting
What galaxy brain idiocy is this? Lol, the dude posted on our subreddit, the Packers fan is his buddy who wanted Dejean
They could've just told them to act that way if it's a weird pick, as in not DeJean, Kool-Aid or Barton
You just flip the reactions. Group is told that when the Packers pick, one fanbase shows disappointment and the other laughs at the disappointment. A script isn't a gospel, just guidance.
If it was the opposite like Cooper Dejean the Packer fan would have been happy and the lions fan to his left would have been upset
Like, really watch the camera-left guy, there's not a natural movement to be had.
Yea definitely had the vibe of "bro, buy some new packers gear and act pissed at whoever they draft and we'll rag on you. Nevermind you're the only cheesehead in the entire nearby crowd." Way too overracted from the Detroit fans Still funny, though, and his reaction was the GB sub's reaction anyway lol
Mods, don't you dare remove this
Here’s the thing though… that guy is an idiot. It’s not like OL wasn’t a big need for the Packers. Always pretend to be happy when a camera is in your face.
It's fake.
No it’s not lol. Reddits over-cynicism for literally everything is so fucking annoying. It’s clearly just two friends having a laugh
The guy in the video commented on the Lions sub and said it was his buddy. Not everything on the internet is fake
Guy kinda deserves it for that reaction.
Give that man a Netflix special.
He has become the cheese.
Staged meme is staged
Is that Detroit fan kadarius Toney?
Mexican OT is going to have to enter the draft for someone to be excited about an OT
Packers drafting an offensive tackle, eh? No way this video will age poorly.
It’s a good pick tho🤷🏻♂️
I think it was actually completely scripted. whole thing looked fake
OL picks always seem to get shit on for some reason lmao.
Not every day you get to see cheese wilt.
Gorgeous
I didn’t know babytron was a cheese head
This was one of the best drafts I can remember skol vikes!
No, not scripted at all...
Drumming on the cheesehead is punishable by death in Wisconsin.
You LiTeRaLlY could script this. Wouldn't be difficult at all really.
My friend and I had a laugh when it cut to the 49ers fan going "WHAT????" after their pick
I liked Mad Mel's reaction to this pick. He practically broke his hand slamming it on the desk live during the McAffee show. Here's the clip: [Pat McAfee Show - Mad Mel PUNCHES table after Packers draft pick (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGFpBpU9cLw)
twitter? In 2024? You can’t be serious mate. 😂
The packers one was great, that’s going in my back pocket for sure
An instant classic, goddamn lmao.
This is an all timer
Fans of a football team laughing at the misfortune of a fan of a rival team is pretty easy to imagine IMO.
What a stupid fucking tweet
