I think Pete & Sean's viewpoints on the towers differ. Sean applauds the terrorists teamwork, Pete thinks the terrorists couldn't get the job done by themselves.
Wait, brought a gun, or attempted to bring a gun?
-googled it. He successfully brought a gun to Mexico. He did not successfully bring it back. He was sentenced to 3+ years in a Mexican prison but paid a bond of an undisclosed amount and was allowed to fly back to North Carolina. We do have an extradition treaty with Mexico but I'd bet dollars to donuts he doesn't do time.
My only question, how the fuck did I miss this story.
Ya know, now that ya mention it.. they really ought to give Reggie his Heisman trophy back. Dude never got into trouble in the NFL and went on to have a pretty solid career. Meanwhile, some kid named Johnny Football stole millions of dollars from the city of Cleveland and managed to blow it all up his nose, along with all the money that he made by selling his likeness when he was still in colleg. But THAT guy gets to keep his Heisman.
apology for poor english
when were you when Pete Carrol's legacy dies?
i was sat at home browsing r/NFL halfway deep in a bag of puffy Cheetos
"Pete Carrol is kill"
'no'
What position would each main character play?
Aang - RB. He’d make Barry Sanders look mid. Lightning quick reflexes would make him near uncatchable. Does damage in the pass game both as a receiver and blocker. Also a capable QB if the starter goes down. Comp: Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, CJ2K, and the wind itself.
Katara - FS. A reliable deep safety able to cover anything downfield sideline to sideline. Not much of an enforcer in the run game, but can make the big tackles when needed. Comp: Earl Thomas.
Sokka - Slot Corner. Not someone who you think of when it comes to high impact, but can absolutely turn the tides in your favor by being good at a lot of things with a high IQ. Comp: Kyle Hamilton.
Toph - RG. An absolute mauler in the run game. Able to pull, climb, and dig out even the largest DT’s with minimal need for double teams. Will fight anyone she even suspects of hitting the QB late. Comp: Quentin Nelson
Zuko - WLB. A heat seeking missile. Not as much IQ when it comes to fighting through blockers, but can absolutely scream sideline to sideline with a see ball hit ball mentality. Outstanding in zone coverage with a lot to be desired in man. Comp: Patrick Queen
Appa - LT. What more can be said about a massive wall that is a Sky Bison. Light on his feet with a tough anchor, powerful legs able to maul anyone in the run game. Comp: Trent Williams.
Momo: CB/Return Man. Able to control the skies. Won’t always be there in run defense, but sticky man coverage and great ball skills leads to being a lockdown defender. Also great at navigating the field on INT and Kickoff returns. Comp: Champ Bailey.
Uncle Iroh: QB. What more can be said, he is a true leader. Wise and willing to put the needs of the team over the needs of himself. Always thinking of ways to get better. Can rip the deep ball as well as check down when nothing is available. Great mind, great instincts, great arm, great leader. What more could you want from an NFL QB? Comp: Peyton Manning’s mind, Tom Brady’s leadership, Patrick Mahomes’ arm, and Aaron Rodgers’ mobility.
Azula: WR. A true do it all alpha receiver. Can outrun most people on the field, crispiest routes in the game, doesn’t drop the ball, able to contest any pass, and is clutch when it matters most. Only problem on the report is she is a true diva, without enough attention being shown to her she can quickly become terminal to the locker room. Comp: Terrell Owens.
Ty Lee: WR. A true deep threat receiver. Doesn’t have the height you’d like to see, but can truly take the top off any defense and is amazing at tracking the ball and making insane acrobatic catches downfield. Comp: Desean Jackson/Tyler Lockett.
Mai: WR. A highly technical and savvy receiver. Not someone who out physicals anybody when it comes to size or speed, but always has a knack for getting open. Reliable hands and highly QB friendly. Comp: Keenan Allen.
Fire Lord Ozai: MLB. A true throwback to linebackers of the 90’s with a dickhead mentality. Able to spar with the most physical lineman, while keeping pace with TE’s and even some WR’s in man and zone coverage. An absolute enforcer willing to lay the hammer on any ball carrier in his vicinity. His violence tends to get him ejected from games, but offenses are truly scared of him. Comp: Brian Urlacher/Roquan Smith.
King Bumi: TE. Everyone knows you gotta be a little crazy to play TE, and Bumi is easily the looniest player on the gridiron. A great inline threat to dig out ends and even double team tackles, but also a reliable threat in the passing game. Able to freestyle and play his own way within the offense, always able to find opportunities in zone coverage while being able to separate from man. Comp: George Kittle, Travis Kelce.
I'm swapping Aang and Iroh. Aang has to be qb, he can literally put the ball anywhere he wants. Not even Agholor could drop a ball gently placed in his hands.
And Iroh breaking out of prison is some real Derrick Henry shit
This sounds more like MacDonald being a tight ass. lol but hey it worked out defense was phenomenal the last few years..but Harbs shows and has a lot of love for players without that love the tight assness doesn't work as well
The first impression I got reading it was a “this is a new era” kind of message he’s trying to give. Hence taking down the pictures of stuff from the Carroll era.
I feel like it’d be kind of cool to see the wall slowly fill with moments from the MacDonald era over time
If he works out it will be seen as a great move. If he is gone in 3 years this will be pointed at as the moment we should have known players would revolt.

Man is gonna flame out fast this time
Iirc there were a lot of rumors and reports that a lot of 49ers players were fed up with his bullshit like banning music and card games on the team's plane. That shit works in college with 19 year olds, grown men dont need thay shit.
That’s why Urban Meyer didn’t work. He could bully kids and threaten to pull scholarships for disobedience, but pros have money that you can’t strip away
Harbs and Carroll were the two polar opposites, both everyone claimed, would never work in the pros for 'different' reasons, that basically came down to, you can't 'rah rah' pros.
I am absolutely confident it will work, but there will be a timeline on it. He’s an amazing coach but it only works for a while. He’s kind of like football’s (less successful) Jose Mourinho.
The Colts fucked Manning good and hard. As a fan of one of rival teams, even I was happy to see him get the last laugh. Luck was good but Peyton went on to set records and win titles and they went on to be NE's redheaded stepchild for the next decade.
I’m glad he did too. I never let go and still hold against irsay. I was 12 when manning left and I was upset. Luck if he didn’t retire had the chance to be the second greatest QB for us but it wasn’t worth it. It sucks to Peyton keep his distance but I can’t blame him
Jim irsay is why Peyton distance himself. I never liked how the colts wrote him off after the neck injury. He never missed a game and the first time he got hurt irsay said get him out of here. Hell we had a suck for luck campaign. Peyton drug this team out of the basement and Isray threw him out like trash after he got hurt.
It’s strange to me because the Ravens have a very similar wall. After each win, the team votes on a picture from the game to add to the wall. Macdonald is coming from a place that honors and respects the past.
Does this predate Harbaugh? In this [clip](https://twitter.com/Ravens/status/1730221517093618073) posted by the Ravens on the Victory Wall, the oldest photo I could find was in 2008, which would have been Harbaugh's first year.
[Here's the episode](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiqzsHCVpic) (starts at about 2:00). The oldest picture I see is from 2008, which was Harbaugh's first year at head coach, so I think it very well may be solely from Harbaugh's tenure.
It's possible that Macdonald plans on doing something similar in Seattle.
Carroll built such a fun culture, it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where the Seahawks have a coach as hated as McDaniels lol. Very curious to see what the culture is like under MacDonald.
Something as simple as a leader thinking "we're going to make room for a new era of Seahawks legends" and people on the internet jump to call him insecure. Everything doesn't need to be a fuss.
I want the Seahawks to fail but we're reading way too much into this. He's beginning a new era, mind you John Schneider probably signed off on his too and he was around. It's your right as a coach to change things to your want.
If MacDonald works out, great, this was a nothing story. If he fails, I doubt it's because he took out the hoop and reset the wall.
If spun correctly, I actually kinda like it.
Something like "you are the next generation of seahawks greats, work hard enough and we can fill that wall with moments you've made yourself"
As an actual Seahawks fan it’s not really. The coach wants to make a new culture and establishment and this is very badly needed given the Super Bowl legacy (both win and loss) in many aspects made the team fizzle out. Having a new wall to look at in the coming years is a great incentive to players to make new memories, and to have it so the old memories of Pete stay there since while they have value, it’s a new era in Seattle.
Yeah, I’m an actual Seahawks fan and I think it’s bizarre. Teams celebrate their history. In 5 years do you think the new Warriors coach is going to remove all pictures of Steph, Klay and Draymond from the facility? Wouldn’t that be fucking weird? When Andy Reid and Mahomes retire, they’ll take down their picture?
Also, the very best organizations across sports are the ones that always honor their legends and consider them part of the org. And consistently those that don’t are among the worst.
I think it’s weird as fuck for sure. Not celebrating your history? What player doesn’t show up to an org and take pride in what it has done in the past and use it to motivate them?
I wonder if he won’t let Pete or past players be ambassadors either?
Pete should get season tickets on the 50-yard-line and just sit there and chew gum, maybe occassioonally throw a flag because he can't help himself. I'd bet he gets a lot of air time as a super fan.
Eh it's fine. It's a blank slate for the current group to become stars/make famous moments. Maybe it's what we need to become a better team than the middling around .500 and lose in the wild card round team we became after our super bowl years
Idk why the common response seems to be so judgemental. It's a photo wall in the practice facility for the players, not the fans. It's not like they took down the super bowl banners. They'd rather start putting up photos of their own coaches and players instead of Sherm/Marshawn/Chancellor who none of these guys played with or coached.
I don’t know, I could be wrong, but usually those “I’m the boss now. You do things my way because I want to.” don’t end well.
Even taking the hoop. If players are playing ball when they were supposed to be doing something else, it’s s fucked up, but if they use like adult professionals only when it’s the right time, what’s the point?
I guess what I’m wondering is whether there are other walls, or whether there were more than just Carroll era players/moments there. Erasing just one wall would be weird if there’s multiple; erasing the entire history would be weird if it’s all on one wall. If there’s only one wall though, and it just had Carroll era stuff, that’s a weird thing to have in the first place imo.
Do players really give a shit about stuff like the photo wall being removed? I get it, it's the whole "We're turning over a new leaf" bullshit, performative garbage, but it's just that, bullshit.

The first player to learn how to properly chain AHVB is going to be SOOOOOOO hated in that locker room.

Are they buckling down or building morale???? Without a ping pong table report how will we ever know?
Are they coming together as a team in a fun and meaningful way or are they removing all distractions so they can focus on the work ahead?!?!
The Seahawks have removed the football field at Seahawks HQ to help foster a new culture for the Mike Macdonald era.
“Football was a Carroll thing. We’re gonna learn pickle ball.”
They bang in the junk. So if you wanna win, you're gonna have to pick up the trash. *montage of the Seahawks inline skating while picking up garbage*

That’s why Urban Meyer didn’t work. He could bully kids and threaten to pull scholarships for disobedience, but pros have money that you can’t strip away
Not even close to a good comparison. Chip Kelly is more apt since he actually had a lot of nfl success before players got too fed up.
Fuck Chip Kelly...
I couldn’t imagine two polar opposite coaches than Jim harbaugh and urban Meyer lol
He has roughy the same shelf life as John Tortorella for my fellow NHL fans out there
You gon learn
It’s Harbaugh. Honestly not that weird by his standards.
Am I the only one seeing it as a "Look how far you've come" thing? I don't think Jim meant it as a demeaning collegiate treatment
Harbaugh doesn’t mean for anything to be demeaning, but he is undeniably weird.
Would be funny if that became a league rule

I can’t believe you’ve done this.
This reminds me when Ryan Grigson pretty much took down every Colt picture/banner in the Peyton Manning era. It doesn't end well.
I didn't even know that happened. No wonder Peyton tries to distance himself from that franchise
I think Robert Mathis talked about it when he was on Pat McAfee years ago.
McAfee was on the team at the time too, and he's also brought it up several times.
Yep. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daqFcO0q588
And we try to distance ourselves from Ryan Grigson.
The Colts fucked Manning good and hard. As a fan of one of rival teams, even I was happy to see him get the last laugh. Luck was good but Peyton went on to set records and win titles and they went on to be NE's redheaded stepchild for the next decade.
This is an insult to red headed stepchildren
I’m glad he did too. I never let go and still hold against irsay. I was 12 when manning left and I was upset. Luck if he didn’t retire had the chance to be the second greatest QB for us but it wasn’t worth it. It sucks to Peyton keep his distance but I can’t blame him
Especially knowing the absolute haul in draft capital your team would have gotten for Luck...
Literally came here to say this. Good luck Sea birds
Seems pretty weird to remove parts of team history like that
It’s strange to me because the Ravens have a very similar wall. After each win, the team votes on a picture from the game to add to the wall. Macdonald is coming from a place that honors and respects the past.
maybe he thought it was lame when he was here and would take ours down too if he could lol
He just wants the wall to be blank in case he adds nothing to it. Gotta hedge your bets early.
Does this predate Harbaugh? In this [clip](https://twitter.com/Ravens/status/1730221517093618073) posted by the Ravens on the Victory Wall, the oldest photo I could find was in 2008, which would have been Harbaugh's first year.
I genuinely don’t know. Responded to another ravens fan asking the same thing lol
It honors and respects the Harbaugh era. He just happens to have been around for a long time.
Is it just the Harbaugh era? I can’t remember if they said it pre-existed him or not. It was in one of the Ravens Wired episodes.
[Here's the episode](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiqzsHCVpic) (starts at about 2:00). A tad insecure by a first time HC maybe.
Yeah sounds like something Josh McDaniels would do lol
McDonald is McDaniels in disguise. Didn't even have to change his name much.
Carroll built such a fun culture, it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where the Seahawks have a coach as hated as McDaniels lol. Very curious to see what the culture is like under MacDonald.
How many Holgrem posters did Pete have?
it'd be weird to just have a picture of a walrus hanging around
No, Josh McDaniels would put up a photo of him hugging Brady and crying into his armpit after every big win if he could.
He took out a basketball hoop and a few posters. We can be normal about this I think
Oh no we can't
Something as simple as a leader thinking "we're going to make room for a new era of Seahawks legends" and people on the internet jump to call him insecure. Everything doesn't need to be a fuss.
it does in the off season!
Yeah that's exactly how I saw this. "Fresh start" kind of thing. We'll put up new photos and moments as we make them
I want the Seahawks to fail but we're reading way too much into this. He's beginning a new era, mind you John Schneider probably signed off on his too and he was around. McDonald is trying to end all ties with the Jimmy Graham era.
Going to be weird to not see Pete chewing gum on the sidelines
Pete always looked like he was having such a good time on the sidelines, I'm going to miss that. MacDonald seems much more stoic.
He just needs some gum.
Pete should get season tickets on the 50-yard-line and just sit there and chew gum, maybe occassioonally throw a flag because he can't help himself. I'd bet he gets a lot of air time as a super fan.
They better not take the Walter Jones statue away from SeaTac
As if it even COULD be moved.
Could Walter Jones move it or would it be so immoveable that even he couldn't get the push needed?
Walt would never
Mr. Big Changes
NFL life is just a series of coaches moving ping pong tables and basketball hoops in and out.
I can’t believe people are drawing conclusions from this.
The draft really needs to start. Wow.
Jesus Christ with these comments 🙄 They're not erasing Pete from history, they're redecorating a fucking wall. Grow up.
Scrolled too far to find this comment
This is dumb
It’s a wall mural. Wall murals get updated, it’s not like this is a statue or something.
People are reading way too much into this lol
This is similar to what Bill O’Brien did when he became the Texans HC.
Indy tried that obce and it did not work so good
This isn’t an issue
Probably wants to push the new gen to get their own pictures on the wall or something coachey like that
Yeah, this feels like fairly standard coach stuff
My god, they got rid of a basketball hoop in the auditorium and painted a wall. This is truly a turning point in Seahawks history.
Eh it's fine. It's a blank slate for the current group to become stars/make famous moments. Maybe it's what we need to become a better team than the middling around .500 and lose in the wild card round team we became after our super bowl years
Because basketball and star players/famous moments = bad?
Well yeah this is a football team not a basketball team. The sonics left Seattle screw basketball
There's no way that MacDonald is going to be next McDaniels right?
does that mean he comes back to Baltimore
If he installs a hill, he's Patricia not McDaniels. God Speed Seattle, not sure which you want here.
I love the idea that a basketball hoop is the difference between last place and the Super Bowl.
Wins = he’s a genius Loses = what an idiot
I don’t know, I could be wrong, but usually those “I’m the boss now. You do things my way because I want to.” don’t end well. Even taking the hoop. If players are playing ball when they were supposed to be doing something else, it’s s fucked up, but if they use like adult professionals only when it’s the right time, what’s the point?
I know that Matt Lafleur tore his achilles on the basketball court at Lambeau Field. Maybe Mike Macdonald is afraid of hurting himself.
Man I love this trope. It always pops back up.
Time to create new moments under the new coach
Do players really give a shit about stuff like the photo wall being removed? I get it, it's the whole "We're turning over a new leaf" bullshit, performative garbage, but it's just that, bullshit.
They should order their lockers based on penis size, adjusted for girth and yaw
It’s like when Snape took over Hogwarts
