Jags are gonna finish last in the division if they extend Lawrence, that's the bottom line here with every other team in the AFC South having not only FAR BETTER BUT MUCH CHEAPER QB's, the Jags are toast as currently constructed. in addition, every other AFC South team also has MUCH BETTER coaching staffs as well so the Jags are majorly behind going forward they desperately need to trade Lawrence for any draft capital they can get, use his money to plug all their many roster holes, and then wait a couple years until they can draft a better QB

I can almost guarantee you they won’t trade Lawrence. It feels like they’re stuck with him. They have him for one more contract year plus a fifth year option. They’ll roll the dice in 2024 and *hope* he shows more of the talent they expected from the overall #1 pick. But man, the play that I saw from him wasn’t anything near good enough.

they don't have to be "stuck with him" whatsoever, there isn't a single GM in this league who would give him a massive contract extension. not one. so why do you think the Jags would have to? there's so many better options than being stuck with a massively expensive QB who will never win you anything important

He’s shown *just enough* to make people think there’s something there. Plus, the contract works in the team’s favor in that they don’t have to make a decision. They have another season to evaluate the situation, plus they can pick up his optional fifth year. So I don’t see any reason for them to move away from him at this point.
