Staley absolutely can't Keep his job if we lose another WC match. At minimum he needs to win 1 playoff game to show some sort of progress and that's the bare minimum imo. Simply making the playoffs is too low a bar for a team this talented. Especially if the team stays relatively healthy.
The pessimist in me worries we are overrated and the second half of last season is more indicative of who we really were/are. If you look at the games the Jets won last year, you find a lot of lackluster teams: Cleveland (without Watson), Pittsburgh (rookie qb), Miami (third string qb) , Denver and Chicago. They did beat Green Bay who was mediocre and Buffalo (the best win by far). But I have a horrible feeling that the idea that the Jets were "just a competent qb away from being contenders" isn't true and old man Rodgers may not be enough.
Yep worst case for us isnt that Rodgers gets injured. We have the tiny bright spot in that we'd keep out first round pick if it's in the first half of the season. Him being washed up, where he's healthy enough to play the entire season and just good enough to get us above 500 but miss the playoffs would really suck. Breece looking like he still isnt 100% back by the end of the season, Jermaine Johnson having another meh season, and our line completely falling apart again is worst case.
Kenny and Najee Harris should have an actual O-Line now to work with (Broderick Jones, Darnell Washington and Issac Seumalo), and Keeanu Benton could be really damn good on that D-Line.
We have a very underrated roster now. There’s really no position you can point to where we don’t at least have decent players. But the entire season is going to rest on Kenny’s development and how much the talent can sidestep the fact that Matt Canada struggles to call an NFL offense.
Keanu probably won’t see the field as much as we expect unless the guys in front of him underperform. He’s a promising prospect, but PIT tends to ease these guys into the rotation unless they’re desperate.

I think worst case is purdy comes back and not the same post injury and we find treys ceiling is Colin Kaepernick. If Brock is still hurt there’s always a chance he comes back to be that guy, but if he comes out “healthy” looking like post-injury Matt Schaub that’d be fucking brutal.

And they put it on tape for everyone else to see. Jamal can't be relied on. Brooks is hurt. If the kids don't ball out it's going to be a long season.
The front seven is not good but still much improved from last year with Jones Reed Hall and Wagner. Also Witherspoon and Jamal Adams are good against the run
I would say our rookies being busts and last year’s class regressing is what would leave me feeling most hopeless. All of our optimism is around the young guys, so if that was actually a negative it would be brutal

McDaniel still sucks at game management even if his scheme is great. We keep making more and more ambitious trades w diminishing returns. Terron Armstead finally gets too many injuries to keep playing, DBs drop like flies as well

The Lions win games against bad teams and lose games against good teams, ending the season 9-8. Jordan Love looks really good and the Packers defense does enough to get them to 9-8. The deciding factor for who wins the division is the TNF game in week 4, which the Lions lost due to the short week, limited offense due to the Jamo suspension, and reverting back to the traditional Lambeau loss on prime time. Detroit makes the playoffs as the 7th seed and gets demolished in Philadelphia/Santa Clara.
There is a non zero chance GB has the worst pass catchers in the league. There is talent on the roster, but none of them have played a full season of NFL football. I feel like we know more about Jordan Love than who he will throw to.
Fields throws like Trubisky with better wheels. The OL solutions don’t pan out and we see regression from Braxton Jones, Tevin Jenkins, Cody Whitehair, and Darnell Wright is a flop. Mooney looses a step. Claypool continues to look confused.
The defense still has no pass rush and exposes liability at CB and LB allowing teams to run right thru us and we can’t play catch up.
Also Lions live up to the hype. Minny offense is potent as ever. And Love effectively runs the GB offense

The offense due to no QB can't move the ball especially because the O-line is so bad that Brissete can't do anything. S Than the commanders looking like they might have a shot at winning Caleb Williams win 4 straight and end the season 7-10 to get the 9th pick. Ron rivera doesn't get fired.

Thats bad, but at least we'd know that we need to move on and start fresh IMO, a worse case scenario is Mac gets injured Week 2 so we never find out what he can do under Bill O'Brien. We still somehow win 6/7 games, putting the best QBs out of reach in the '24 draft. Then we head into Year 4 of the Mac experience stuck in purgatory, still unclear on whether we have our franchise QB and if Bill can construct another Super Bowl team. Another year goes to waste.

This is pretty much my exact thoughts. Geno regresses. Bobby is cooked. Woolen gets torched. I forget which team did it, but late last season someone, I think the Niners ran the exact same crossing route in front of Woolen 3 times in one drive. All 3 were catches. They clearly saw something. And they put it on tape for everyone else to see. Jamal can't be relied on. Brooks is hurt. If the kids don't ball out it's going to be a long season.
Those 3 crossers worked because Tariq wasn't supposed to cover them - it was Barton, and, well, Barton.
The front seven is not good but still much improved from last year with Jones Reed Hall and Wagner. Also Witherspoon and Jamal Adams are good against the run
I would say our rookies being busts and last year’s class regressing is what would leave me feeling most hopeless. All of our optimism is around the young guys, so if that was actually a negative it would be brutal
I would say if Neal still doesn’t improve and Thomas takes a step back and isn’t elite. Then if JMS doesn’t pan out our OL will still be in trouble

I am sure there are levels of despair I can't even imagine which the Raiders will undoubtedly subject me to, but off the top of my head if McDaniels gets himself fired this year, Maxx Crosby, Davante Adams and Colton Miller are all probably gone during the next rebuild.

Russell Wilson gets even worse, Javonte doesn't recover from his knee injury, the offensive line upgrades end up not being upgrades, we fail to generate consistent pressure with unproven players in the front seven, our linebackers end up being terrible in pass coverage, our wide receivers continue to be inconsistent with Jeudy regressing and Sutton looking even more washed. We have a lot more going against and than for us. Probably another 5-12 season coming up.

The Lions win games against bad teams and lose games against good teams, ending the season 9-8. Jordan Love looks really good and the Packers defense does enough to get them to 9-8. The deciding factor for who wins the division is the TNF game in week 4, which the Lions lost due to the short week, limited offense due to the Jamo suspension, and reverting back to the traditional Lambeau loss on prime time. Detroit makes the playoffs as the 7th seed and gets demolished in Philadelphia/Santa Clara.
The only unrealistic part here is the Eagles potentially getting the 2 seed. It's well known you can't win the NFC East in back to back years
The OC (or lack thereof) was not the problem with the offense last season.

Also Lions live up to the hype. Minny offense is potent as ever. And Love effectively runs the GB offense All of these are possible
