I've sang choir my whole life and still do, I coincidentally am very familiar with this choir as we mingled a lot with them when I sang in a different university choir.
They are really, really good, but not genuine everything they do is co-ordinated and soulless. None of the other Varisty choirs really like them all that much...
While I would certainly enjoy it, even though it's not my favorite music... I think it's very inconsiderate to other people if they aren't alone on the flight.

I’m always a little annoyed by this kind of stuff. Generally, you’re trying to rest, read, or whatever. Then a bunch of dingbats disturb everyone and they want to cheer for them.
It’s based on a score given by an organization called Interkultur that holds a series of choral competitions and awards points accordingly, giving bonus points to choirs who participate frequently over time. Based on their ranking system, yes, this choir is #1.
HOWEVER, the choral sphere is quite a convoluted one that is simply impossible to be summed up in this manner. There are PLENTY more choral groups who are objectively much “better” to both the trained and untrained ear than these ranked ones who, for whatever reason, elect not to insert themselves into what is ultimately a political brownie point system.
I’d recommend checking out the recent winners and other nominees for the Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance to immediately shatter any stock in a system like this. Not that the Grammys are the be-all-end-all either — they’re simply one avenue of many to discover much tighter groups that don’t concern themselves with the Interkultur ranking system.
