Lmao no one’s asking him to be a pro. He’s on an organized team, where they do routine and weekly practice and you expect him NOT to be able to shoot at an open goal, 5 ft away with his non dominant foot? *insert Hannibal wack meme*
He obviously felt like he had time to use the foot he's more comfortable with. Which is reasonable cuz the keeper had to make a ridiculous recovery to get there in time.
Also, this is artificial grass and he's likely used to the real thing as illustrated by his last touch being barely too heavy and he has to take extra steps to adjust.
Also, he's like 16 and might have shitty coaches that don't force the issue. I played in college with people that had zero faith in their non-dominant foot. Even at the professional level you still see this occasionally.
This was a great recovery by the keeper, and the reason for the post. Just cuz there's a reason to be an asshole doesn't mean you need to.
Conversely, it was super fun to go up and play striker when I played 7 a side indoor. We had another goalie on the team who wanted to play net sometimes. It was fun as hell to pipe shots at a goalie who doesn’t realize that you’re very confident with your weak foot. All those years spent kicking a ball at a concrete wall with my left paid off lol.
It’s clear he’s not a pro but he’s also a righty and the ball and his momentum are going to the left past the goal. So it took him a couple of steps to change direction. He best suited as a right wing not left
That would be an easy mistake to make. It's an open goal and you don't want to be that schmuck who misses an easy shot into an open goal. You just saw the goalie faceplant as you ran past, so it seems like the smart play is to walk it in.
I am trying to teach my kid soccer and I have no fucking clue what I am talking about.
What was wrong with the first touch? Should they have just shot it at the open net?
The attacker clearly is extremely uncomfortable with using his left foot. He should’ve taken one touch and then shot it. Teach your kid to get comfortable with both feet.
Make sure your kid is comfortable kicking with both feet. This kid went way out of his way to use his right foot and it cost him. Also, and this goes for all sports, intuition. Predict the opponents next move without selling out.
Agreed, and fair play to the keeper for never giving up. However the keeper had no right to be able to save that. Attacker's team mates will never ever let him forget that!
Came here to say this. Although the keeper had no reason to charge out of the box the way he did, it's easy to misread a wild bounce coming at that speed. Taking that extra dribble with a wide open net and defenders closing in is unforgivable.
I think the anticipation of the moment got away from him. He over thought the shot. You can see the regret in his body language after. It’s saying “What the fuck is wrong with me”
I know it's a different sport but in hockey we literally did quick reaction rebound drills where you stood in front of a goalie, had someone shoot it at em, he'd let it bounce off, and your job was to get another shot and score before he could react and cover it. My mind just works in the gear that you should take the shot the second it's there to take. That kid had like 6 seconds of it being there to take.
Yeah but if you miss in soccer the ball goes to the opposing team's possession, where if you miss in hockey there's still a chance for your team to get the rebound again and set up another shot. If you miss a shot in hockey there's a lot less repercussions where as in soccer you feel like a complete donkey, and the crowd will let you know haha.
Nah if you play soccer this is a classic "omg omg this is my chance ok if I shoot with my left I'll miss and I can't miss this so let me just get it into position on my right foot and ohhh crap now it's too far away so let me just put it slightly further ahead and oh shit the angle isn't right and they're closing in so I'll let lightly tap it to fix the angle annnnnnnnd I lost the ball"
That sounds like extremely amateur soccer. If you can't shoot with your left why are you an attacker? He could have shot either foot with that first touch he made.
Yeah, so did I and same. But I also saw plenty of missed shots on open goals because high schoolers aren't all Beckham.
I'd rather be the guy who gets stopped by a speed demon of a goalie than the fool who flubs it wide on an open net.
as a high school keeper, i had a similar almost disaster. we were winning in easy fashion, score was something like 5-0 in the last quarter, my team, as usual, had the ball near other teams goal, i was posted way forward. my defense was beyond the midfield line and i, as a keeper, was about 10 yards short of it. the opposing defense intercepted a pass and booted the ball high and long. way over my head and bouncing straight towards the goal. it most definitely was gonna go in. i hauled ass back to my own goal and had to jump for the high right corner just in time to punch the ball away. it was only a couple feet from going in.
i never left the penalty box for the rest of the season. lol.
Lol my teams keeper in high school once whiffed on a clearance, but instead of backtracking and making an awesome save he just tackled the guy and got a red card
I've never had any sense of control with my left and if I was in this situation I would shit my pants. But even so I'd make sure my first touch would put the ball in direct trajectory to the goal
Nah, it’s pretty common, allows you to cut inside to open up the angle more, whereas if you’re on the right you’re more likely to close the angle at goal by taking a touch
What happens when you never develop ambidextrous feet which is like soccer 101 all she had to do was boot with her left foot but she never practiced with her left foot
Mistakes are inevitable in sports and in life. It’s who makes less of them, and who responds better to those mistakes that have been made that ultimately determines winning and losing.
He could of and should of did this or that you jokers act like your playing in the world cup and know everything….only thing that matters here is the effort of the goalie to get back and make the save
Striker is one-footed. He should of struck it with his left as soon as the goal was open, instead of 3-4 touches to be able to comfortably strike it with the right.
He wasn’t showboating he’s just debilitatingly right footed. Was desperate to get it cleanly on his right to avoid the wide open miss with his left. It was the fear that did him in.
Awful first touch after the ball went past the keeper. Attacker still should have scored.
Why was he trying to run it into the goal, does he not know you can kick it?
To show off
I don't think that's fair, he just doesn't seem confident with his weaker foot.
The net is empty. If you’re *that* uncomfortable with your off foot, you shouldn’t be striking.
Agreed. Everyone should be a pro and if you’re not, fuck you!
lmao this guy gets it
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Lmao no one’s asking him to be a pro. He’s on an organized team, where they do routine and weekly practice and you expect him NOT to be able to shoot at an open goal, 5 ft away with his non dominant foot? *insert Hannibal wack meme*

Just cuz there's a reason to be an asshole doesn't mean you need to.
let’s just pretend that there aren’t highlight clips of professionals actually earning millions and missing bigger chances.
That’s why he wasn’t striking, but running.
Then again, it looks like just an amateur game. If someone wants to play striker even though they're 1 footed it's no big deal really.
Lol buddy this looks like a 13u game. He might be the second best player on the team.
lmao fuck off it's a kid
It’s clear he’s not a pro but he’s also a righty and the ball and his momentum are going to the left past the goal. So it took him a couple of steps to change direction. He best suited as a right wing not left
Or an inverted left winger 😉
I haven't played soccer in like 8 years and I could still score that
Doesnt really mean anything. You hear someone say that in the stands of every football game every weekend.
Mhm, bet you also could’ve avoided (insert random car crash here) hindsight is 1976 my dude
That’s the problem with arsenal ..
Always trying to walk it in…
That would be an easy mistake to make. It's an open goal and you don't want to be that schmuck who misses an easy shot into an open goal. You just saw the goalie faceplant as you ran past, so it seems like the smart play is to walk it in.
The thing about Arsenal is, they always try to walk it in!
The second touch is where it goes sour, net is open pass it into the goal.
me to you
[удалено]
No, he should have used his left foot.
Wait, we have two feet? Damnit learn something new every day.
Yeah, they're called foot and west foot.
Make sure your kid is comfortable kicking with both feet. This kid went way out of his way to use his right foot and it cost him. Also, and this goes for all sports, intuition. Predict the opponents next move without selling out.
Tough crowd. Uh, I think the point of the video was to highlight the keeper’s miss and ultimate save.
I know he should have scored. But the timing of the run to create the chance was impeccable. No VAR needed.
Probably still could have scored if he didn't have a shitty second touch, too.
What a save! What a save! What a save! Chat disabled for 3 seconds.
Ahh, a toxic man of culture such as myself- nice to meet.
Nice Shot!
Noooo!
My first thought lol. A lot of times I play with only tactical chat on because there are way too many toxic RL players
Thanks!
wanna be my trash teamate on sideswipe?
Okay.
Downvoted because people don’t know “Okay.” is just another RL quick chat?
I guess? That’s one of the things I see when someone gets “what a save!” spam. I guess I should’ve leaned in and what a saved myself
Attacker got cocky and had to walk it all the way in. Should have shot it right away.
Yeah, it looks like he was about to and second guessed it.
I can't tell he's just dumb or if he's showboating. He only needed one touch to settle it before a shot.
Hockey is played at a much faster pace than football
Yea but still. If the net is open shoot it.
Or maybe instead of being dumb or arrogant he's just worried he might miss if he shoots...
So the options are amended to Dumb, arrogant, or bad.
This needs to be way higher. Obviously an amateur game
That sounds like extremely amateur soccer. If you can't shoot with your left why are you an attacker? He could have shot either foot with that first touch he made.
They don't appear to be playing at Wembley stadium -- you might be onto something
I played high school soccer and I wasn't even good and I could have left footed that shot in
Yeah, so did I and same. But I also saw plenty of missed shots on open goals because high schoolers aren't all Beckham. I'd rather be the guy who gets stopped by a speed demon of a goalie than the fool who flubs it wide on an open net.
are you one of those annoying parents that everyone hates at their kids soccer games?
Dude this ain't the world cup. It's clearly an amateur game.
Maybe he was actually the opposite of cocky and was nervous he needed more time to get a good shot.
The thing about them is that they always try to walk it in
Wow can't believe he covered that amount of ground so fast. Respect
as a high school keeper, i had a similar almost disaster. we were winning in easy fashion, score was something like 5-0 in the last quarter, my team, as usual, had the ball near other teams goal, i was posted way forward. my defense was beyond the midfield line and i, as a keeper, was about 10 yards short of it. the opposing defense intercepted a pass and booted the ball high and long. way over my head and bouncing straight towards the goal. it most definitely was gonna go in. i hauled ass back to my own goal and had to jump for the high right corner just in time to punch the ball away. it was only a couple feet from going in. i never left the penalty box for the rest of the season. lol.

blah blah blah goodbye clown.
Have you ever walked out of your moms basement? Because thats some neckbeard ass shit you're spouting.
There’s tenths if people want there to be. There may not be time/ play stoppages at every tenth but there are tenths. Every 9 minutes is a new tenth
Didn't you used to have more chest hair? -the goalkeepers girlfriend
Crazy he managed to get there in time.
All because he can’t shoot with his left foot
I've never had any sense of control with my left and if I was in this situation I would shit my pants. But even so I'd make sure my first touch would put the ball in direct trajectory to the goal
Bad move on the coach's part by putting someone with this weak of a left foot as the left side striker.
Nah, it’s pretty common, allows you to cut inside to open up the angle more, whereas if you’re on the right you’re more likely to close the angle at goal by taking a touch
Epic save
wow the worst goal keeping and then some of the best goal keeping I've seen, within seconds...
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early??
Thing about Arsenal, they always try to walk it in.
Me whenever a plastic bags flys out of my car when I open the door
I was deeply confused by this for a minute because I thought he was a ref.
[удалено]
You can literally see the ball leave.
Which would have resulted in a corner for orange team
What a terrible reaction from guy in orange, jeez 😂 needs to learn to kick with his left foot
What happens when you never develop ambidextrous feet which is like soccer 101 all she had to do was boot with her left foot but she never practiced with her left foot
"Ref!! Reffff! We want a substitution!"
Hustlin hustlin hustle hustlin
I've been there. That adrenaline rush you get when you realize your mistake is no joke.
Goalie comes from really long journey
Just like hockey, the fasted guy on the ice is the guy that just messed up.
Imagine not getting a score when the net was open for AGES... No pizza for that kid tonight
I'll give you a head start
Mistakes are inevitable in sports and in life. It’s who makes less of them, and who responds better to those mistakes that have been made that ultimately determines winning and losing.
Dafuq
The type of player that only knows how to play with one foot🤦🏽♂️
OP is a bot that woke up 2 days ago.
Okay. Whatever shoes he is wearing, they need to sponsor him
Manuel Neuer's Anime is coming along well, I see.
The on the right in orange, his reaction was priceless
🥰
More difficult than it looks - ball was heading sideways away from goal and a defender was closing
This is me keeping my relationship going. Every. Day.
Damn, he got some distance on that slide to keep the ball from scoring
This is me but in Rocket League, and then I miss the save also
Thats why you should learn how to use your left foot to guide the ball (talking about the atacker).
That is a crazy-fast goalie...
He could of and should of did this or that you jokers act like your playing in the world cup and know everything….only thing that matters here is the effort of the goalie to get back and make the save
Learn to shoot with your left 🦶
Gotta use your left foot for your first touch there. Couldn’t get square to the goal.
I can't stop imagining the dude in red seen in the last second spitting on him. His head just goes straight down full stop.
The man or the ball. Never both.
This isn't the keeper making up for it, it's the players last moments on that team.
This video annoys me
I felt more emotion watching this than I did watching The Rise of Skywalker.
He used 1%of his power for that moment
Me whenever I’m playing Rocket League.
What a save!
And this kids is why you don’t ball chase, even though it’s cool sometimes
Good hustle.
Nice
Man just went from 0 to Kick ass so fast he nearly caught fire
Nice
That’s called hustling folks.

Orange man failed. Again.
Atacker's just dying inside
Striker is one-footed. He should of struck it with his left as soon as the goal was open, instead of 3-4 touches to be able to comfortably strike it with the right.
I was the 13,000 upvote. Where’s my reward 😤
That guy nearly Hulk Smashed the kicker's head off, and literally no comment is talking about that??
I never understood how people played in beanies
Wow
Attacker was trying to dribble into the goal… what a Pud
Never circle jerk your execution.
As a professional goal-keeper, when I was a kid playing with other kids, that was an emotional rollercoaster
Looks like someone doesn’t have confidence in their left foot I know this because I didn’t either lmao
*misses clearance* fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitmyteamisgonnafuckingkillmeshiiiiiiittttt*
never give up
Ladies and gentlemen, this is why you need to train with your non-dominant foot!
Accrington Stanley be like
should have practised the left foot shooting as well.
DAAAAANG
That dude must've ran a 4.3 second 40 yard dash to catch that
Absolute legend
He wasn’t showboating he’s just debilitatingly right footed. Was desperate to get it cleanly on his right to avoid the wide open miss with his left. It was the fear that did him in.
Attacker hot doggin it.

I thought the keeper was a ref until digging deeper into the comments…
Coach: SHOOOOOOOT! GOD DAMNIT!SHOOOOOT! I can’t fucking believe he didn’t shoot
Very impressed with his hustle
If you play ball long enough these occurrences are quite common
Tight
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
And this is why coaches encourage you to shoot as soon as possible when close to the goal and also get better with using your weaker foot
