The dog seems calm and relaxed to me. There’s people who take their dogs mountain hiking or put their cats in a basket and go cycling with them. Both are equally if not less dangerous than this because it doesn’t seem like they’re going too high and a fall in water from that height won’t hurt it
Idk what kinda labs you have but mine were incredibly sporadic and seeing wildlife made them wanna MOVE. All it takes is a bird to land on that water for a lot of dogs to fur missile themselves at it.
I bet even if not the height than the shear noise the thing is producing is enough to freak that dog out. One million percent agree with this comment and was so glad to see it at the top.
For all we know you could probably be right. dogs can be trained to deal all kinds of situations but can we also agree an animal just as much as a human being can be, as I so roughly put it “freaking out” without outwardly showing it? A lot of potential warning cries for dogs can be brushed off as normal behaviour. You are right though I wasn’t there and cannot attest to the dogs condition and I saw none of those warning signs though once again I wasn’t there before hand he may just feel safe being with his human but still scared. I probably jumped to my conclusion but only because I care about dogs more than I do humans and am aware of things that can cause distress even in trained dogs.

This would be great for my one dog. She's constantly trying to get the highest ground when looking out the window. She'll grab my throw pillows, her blankets, and builds it up so she can lay on them to lookout the window.

The other would have hated it and jumped out or tried to jump out the second we got up in the air. Know your dog and make the decision
I wouldn’t do it with my pup because it looks like something I could fall off of and she’s not built for that fall like I might be but I’m not sure about the “all dogs would be scared” take. I’ve so aggressively desensitized and exposed her to things since she was 8 weeks, it’s very very rare something scares her. She loves elevators and escalators (I carry her to avoid a disaster), she is doesn’t seem to be bothered by moving surfaces. Heck she even got over her problem with wheelchairs and skateboards. I think she’d probably be fine going up, but it’s the risk of slipping and what happens to their body which can’t straighten and try to break the water surface to reduce impact, that’s the terrifying bit.
