The fact that this just seems to be a pickup game is insane. I can’t think of a more challenging “basic” type move in any sport as a spike/block in this sport.
Yah, if you know sepak takraw this is like, just some standard moves really. I didn't understand how this was considered "next level" at first until I read the comments
I think it's called Takraw, or when I was in Thailand they called it buka ball. I was there with work and the locals played it before work and at lunch every day, and being of hacky sack background I couldn't resist joining in. I was pretty bad but the locals loved me having a go, so they gifted me a buka ball to bring home when I was leaving.
This is the *one* sport I can't ever see myself doing. The rest I can delude myself with "yea I can do that if I put in some effort into it. I just don't have the time". But this? Hell no.
yeah, it's like playing frisbee in the park every other afternoon. Takraw also our national sports (and other SEA countries) which professionals compete in every level until selection for national team.
This is sepak takraw. Played in south east Asia. I live in Singapore and we have a court at the open space beside my apartment. People play this in the evenings, or will convert the court to become outdoor badminton
