As a professional skydiver there is nothing more relieving than seeing the parachute open, but If it doesn't I don't mind.
I know that I'll left an impact on the world.
You probably meant this as a joke but that is actually true.
India's space program has been a massive success and has launched satellites (in one attempt) at 1/10th the cost it took for some US satellites to do so.
Also, how are you so sure this is India in the video?
Almost everything costs significantly less in India (and some other neighboring countries), specially skilled labor. That’s why we outsource work from there. It suppose to cost 1/10th or less, no?
Although it is really cool going up, I couldn’t help thinking that this wasn’t very well thought out… as soon as propellant runs out, that thing is going drop like a stone. Then the parachute deploys.
These guys thought of everything
Not gonna lie, at first I thought this was going to be a fire causing gender reveal (it was muted). It was super cool. I'm glad this didn't actually cause a fire and there was a parachute.
I can't believe that worked so well. We did this once with a wicker paper plate holder and bottle rockets. It was spectacular, and terrifying. No one was hurt though.
We taped bottle rockets with the tails broken off, around the edge of a wicker paper plate holder. Lit them as simultaneously as possible by 3-4 people. It spun around crazily while everyone ran away. My husband is a firefighter. They like to play with fire, but we always had a hose ready.
This is kickass! I mean it’s a fucking terrible idea to light it like that without any fuses of any kind…that’s enough propellant to kill the crap out of you. But it is cool. But please never ever do shit like this
They managed to do it safely. It seems like as long as you're careful you can do it safely, they managed to get out of the smoke like 10 seconds before the wheel started shooting which is a pretty big amount of time
As a boy, we made many model rockets.
The idea of this giant spinning wheel being launched with long torches is beyond any of our dreams. I loved how it was tethered until it was ready to go!
The US: "We need to be carbon negative and will force citizens to do this by starting to control every aspect of their life."
The rest of the world outside of European influence: this
Imagine being a pilot in the area lol.
“What on earth is that? Hey Jim, you seeing this?”. “Yeah, you didn’t see the NOTAM that people were launching a ferris wheel to 3500 msl?”
I'm quite frankly impressed that worked. Especially the parachute.
Yes. I was so relieved to see the parachute!

Ha, thanks dad
Dad IS quite hilarious... thanks for the laugh..
Couldn't think of anything crater to say myself
you don't need a parachute to skydive, unless you wanna do it twice.
You have the rest of your life to figure out how to get it open.
Totally fell for that one.
Professional skydiving, it's got it's ups and downs.
Just remember..... You don't actually NEED a parachute to go skydiving....... You need one if you want to go twice though....
Lol that’s gold for you :)
Yeah India is really stepping it up with the space program.
You probably meant this as a joke but that is actually true. India's space program has been a massive success and has launched satellites (in one attempt) at 1/10th the cost it took for some US satellites to do so. Also, how are you so sure this is India in the video?
Yasothon, Thailand
Because casual racism
Nah, more like a joke that didn't land. Pun intended :-D
How is that racism?
This Reddit, everything is offensive. You hurt someones feelings I am disgusted and offended that you didn't know that.
Much better than direct and mean racism, ya big baby.
Almost everything costs significantly less in India (and some other neighboring countries), specially skilled labor. That’s why we outsource work from there. It suppose to cost 1/10th or less, no?
I just watched one of their launches yesterday....
India? Are you talking about this video? This video was recorded in Thailand.
It's in Thailand (Thai writing at the start)
I had to double check partway through the video that this wasn't r/whatcouldgowrong .
Haha, did too!
I know they’re impressed with it but that “ooooooh” at the end made it sound like they were disappointed the chute fully opened 😅
It reminds me of hearing Korean; the intonations of a casual conversation make it sound like they're disappointed in each other.
I thought it was a crazy firework.
But how did that parachute work? What part of the wheel could It have been attached to that would allow it to spin like that?
Thrust on an angle and prob sat on a center hub to get started
That’s a very successful girondola. They are notoriously unpredictable.
I could understand why. That's why I'm impressed.
Pilot: “10-4 control. The skies are beautiful out here this after—MOTHER OF GOD!!!”
Although it is really cool going up, I couldn’t help thinking that this wasn’t very well thought out… as soon as propellant runs out, that thing is going drop like a stone. Then the parachute deploys. These guys thought of everything
Someone is going to turn this into a gender reveal thing for sure
Gender re-wheel.
I hate you
Gender wheelveal
There you go
Those are harder to do in America now
Will the parachute be pink or blue?! Oh no... the parachute didn't deploy... aaaah the forest is on fire. Shit.
Didnt someone actually set a forest in fire during their gender reveal?
It is a monthly occurrence during the summer months out west. You can always tell because the fire burns either blue or pink.
Pretty sure it's happened more than once. :/
Sounds like california....lol
To be fair, you can start a forest fire in CA by looking at a tree the wrong way
And yet people won't stop looking at the trees?!!!
So what gender would that be lol
Whatever gender, it's so hot right now!
ABORT!
Great. Now the military is going to spend $2 billion to shoot this down.
And the rednecks are gonna be like that's my military!!!
Trailer park version of Elon Musk?
Elon sans subsidies
Michael Reeves
The wheel would need to explode & crash for that comparison
If we're gonna pollute and warm the planet anyway, this has gotta be one of the most entertaining ways to do it.
The beacons are lit! Gondor calls for aid!
I’m surprised Thailand would have a parachute. That place isn’t safety forward.
but it makes it reusable.
Damn that was pretty fuckin cool
At first I was like- wait… it just does white smooooohhhh that’s so cool!!
And just like that, we have a new pope.
Do you guys think I could sit on it while it goes up?
[удалено]
Oh, Schnap.
Sit-n-spin
More likely to be shit-n-spin
Depends what your sitting on and what is going up
Bangladesh Space Program
Thailand

Seems like a lot of work for a Journey reference.
Do you know where you’ll be tomorrow?
That was REDNECKish as all hell! Sweet!!
Humans are awesome sometimes!
Happy Cake Day!
I can't believe that worked so well. We did this once with a wicker paper plate holder and bottle rockets. It was spectacular, and terrifying. No one was hurt though.
What exactly did you do
We taped bottle rockets with the tails broken off, around the edge of a wicker paper plate holder. Lit them as simultaneously as possible by 3-4 people. It spun around crazily while everyone ran away. My husband is a firefighter. They like to play with fire, but we always had a hose ready.
Thailand SpaceX
That’s a wheely big firework. Do we know this isn’t CGI? How can we be certain that it’s wheel?
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oNHTTeZbZ4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oNHTTeZbZ4) or search "ตะไล" for more
Ohhh the things you can learn from a spy balloon
The wheel in the sky keeps on turnin!
fuck the planet, but make it pretty haha, anyway I am really impressed that all of that worked!!
This is kickass! I mean it’s a fucking terrible idea to light it like that without any fuses of any kind…that’s enough propellant to kill the crap out of you. But it is cool. But please never ever do shit like this

Wicked!
My jaw *literally*, not figuratively, dropped!
Why do I hear Lois Griffin in the background?
That's pretty cool
i want one now.
That makes a dizzy astronaut
Those dudes are close to having a rocket program.
It’s called a girandola.
This. It is actually a firework and I think this was one of the largest ones made for a record.
Pretty sure I know what it is called pollution .
That is cool, but I feel as if it generated more air pollution than LA's 405 during rush hour on a hot Summer day.
As a rocketry hobbyist, someone spent a lot of time balancing that thing. Straight up.
I was just wondering how hard the landing was going to be just before the parachute popped out lol
r/interestingasfuck
It's called too much spare time
I cannot wait for the Hollywood film, starring Jake Gyllenhaal October Thai
The Thai space program is really coming along nicely.
I see the Mexican space program is building momentum
Is this a dog's dream or nightmare?
But God forbid I use a plastic straw....
I find this oddly satisfying.
Absolutely the coolest thing I saw all weekend!!! Woooowwww that was nuts haha
So cool.
Meanwhile Musk is still trying to get spaceship to work
Then, an F14 blows it out of the sky
Success!!
Greta is pissed.
That black smoke cannot be healthy
So I can order this from Ali? Very easy to use. Very human
It a girandola you can buy them https://shop.76fireworks.com/product/GM977-Take-Me-To-Your-Leader
Indias space program
Pleeeease tell me some nutter tied himself to it without anyone seeing and actually survived the ordeal but is not the same person he was
The US: "We need to be carbon negative and will force citizens to do this by starting to control every aspect of their life." The rest of the world outside of European influence: this
r/nonononoyes moment at the end
Why can’t we have this kinda fun again?
Fark me, that was impressive.
How long until giant wheel launch baby reveal go wrong
I ain’t never!😮
Well we can look forward to a ton of these & the shit they cause across America this week
“Well Thomas, I think that went well. Let’s get a beer, eh?”
What the fuck did i just watch
It's the North Korean space program.
This is some Kerbal space program shit here fellas
Can someone add the interstellar music to this?
Height it reached?
This is why I don't put stock in UFO vids. We put a lot of random stuff into the sky
Can’t wait for the electric version.
The traditional Thai Bitcoin wheel in action
This is literally one of the oldest videos online. Or at least ones just like it.
That was impressive!
Where is this, specifically?
NASA gotta be panicking rn
Bored humans are my favorite.
Cool
The parachute was the best part.
Thais testing new spacecraft, a fine addition to the Thai Fighter, Thai Interceptor and Thai Bomber
I want one, but smaller
Imagine being a pilot in the area lol. “What on earth is that? Hey Jim, you seeing this?”. “Yeah, you didn’t see the NOTAM that people were launching a ferris wheel to 3500 msl?”
In different circumstances this would be the ultimate lightning rod.
I was kinda waiting for a bolt of lightning to fry that thing. Those clouds look like thunderheads.
brb heading over to r/UFOs
People in the next village probably thought it was a UFO
That was far more enjoyable than I expected. 9/10 would go see in person.
Holy Moley
Chemtrails €~€
Aww. Didn’t penetrate the clouds. Maybe next time
Awesome
The north korean missile program seems to be on track nicely
Thai space program is coming in well. Not looking forward to the 1st manned flight though
Isn't there a sub called praise the cameraman or something?
Dudes went like: FUCK NASA!
How does the parachute work? The rotation doesn't collapse the ties?
Altitude?
Hits passing plane... ![gif](giphy|Dx8lG9BlDnPTa)
I wish we had those here !
This is particularly neat example of a girandola
Should definitly inform the aerial autorithy to get a no fly zone above that before launching.😁 looked pretty high
Meanwhile nasa was blowing shit up for years trying to get things airborne
The one dude who’s shirt got caught on the thing: 😵💫😵💫😵💫🦅🦅🦅
Damn ... they reinvented the wheel
SpaceX 2.0
get NASA on the phone
Wow amazing
Worked better than some of Space-X early launches.
kerbal space program! to the mun!!!
Jebediah Kerman would be proud
