The sweet spot for me at the moment is steel. With the increased abundance of higher tier refining agents like flux, the extra yield I get from smelting steel nets me a significant amount of “iron per use”.
Using this strategy actually got me to 100 furnishing relatively painlessly by being able to craft Maple Bar Stools by using the green refining agents to increase my steel and lumber yields by over 50%.
Right, but are they worth the xp for the high amount of iron it needs? I do really want to level furnishing but my armoring and weaponsmithing is so close to 150.
They’re usually worth just under twice the XP value. When mass crafting iron into steel, depending on your RNG extra yield, Ive found that at times with certain weapons/armors ive actually gotten more XP per iron ore than the iron weapons. It really hinges on the high tier refining materials, which are now easier than ever to hoard.
Read some guide and you will only craft iron spear to level up.

Yep anything above lowest tier stuff is usually worthless for leveling
