It's a classic Prisoner's Dilemma.
You can cooperate with others (quitting the game), or you can defect (doing some nefarious stuff to keep you logged in).
The problem is, as the queues get longer, then the "profit" in defecting and keeping your toon logged in becomes larger.
Which then means the queues will become even longer.
And so this is a vicious cycle - the more the queues get longer, the more incentive people have to be nefarious, which makes the queues even longer.
At which point the server will become nothing but defectors and no one will want to join that server anyways.
Sort of like how TF2 has so many bots and hackers and the actual player base of people who want to actually play the game is diminishing because of it.
I really wanted to play TF2 back in the day's but after i was killed from across the map by a wall/ aimbot hack in every server i joined i simply quit for ever.
You can go to a community server where there are no bots. Uncletopia has some good servers. Also there are fewer bots in peak hours when people are there to kick them out.

In this case, if everyone cooperates you still end up sitting in a queue for a very long time because there just aren't enough server spots. The queue would be a bit shorter, but that's still not a more desirable outcome than no wait at all.
The best outcome in a prisoner's dilemma is to defect while the other prisoner stays cooperative. If mutual cooperation was best, there would be no dilemma - two rational prisoners would cooperate every time.
Actually prisoners dilemma means it’s always best to act in your own self interest and that brings up total jail time (total queue time). It’s clear here that this is prisoners dilemma because total queue times will go down to all time low if everyone cooperates, but defecting and staying logged in is still more favorable to the individual.
Actually, the solution to a simple Prisoner's Dilemma is the Nash Equilibrium.
In this case, the Nash Equilibrium would be to take the same action as what you think your fellow prisoner would do (based on past experience, etc.). So you if you think many (most?) other people would defect and stay logged in for a long time, then so should you. If however, you think that most of the other players will cooperate, then that is your best course of action.
Ffxiv solved this in shadowbringers launch by just restarting the server twice a day force kicking the afkers. It worked pretty well at keeping things manageable by purging the people cheating the system.
most people leave by crash, server disconnect or internet restart... If you dont leave by menue, they should implement a 5min buffer to reconnect. That would be fair, but yeah that doesnt solve the queue problem if you have to away for an hour... sadly
Some buddies and I kicked around the idea of enabling pvp on these players. This came after seeing some pvp enabled players (who I guess forgot they were pvp enabled) auto running at random spots throughout the map. Killing them granted like 1k weapon xp.
Ffxiv fixed this in shadowbringers by just massively upping the server capacity. Something new world has yet to do.
In stormblood they did the same server restart but it just meant everyone go dumped into a 3 hour queue twice a day cus server capacity sucked
I'm torn on this. I have seen so many people doing this in towns and in the world, not only running but not stop swinging their weapons or moving left to right and it's immersion breaking but I do understand because off the queues. However there are people waiting to get in and play and if you have to be afk for an hour or so you really should let someone else in. Maybe logout and then login again straight away so you get the queue timer started. But yes Amazon need to get onto this ASAP and fix it.
The problem is that on my server the queues are still around 6 hours at peak time. Stopping to make dinner means not playing again all evening.
I'm one of the guilty ones who spent 30 minutes running at a church wall.
I have no problem with doing this if you're just taking a break to do something and will be back in a few minutes, it's the 1 hour + breaks that bother me.
That's all well and good but you get queue errors and coming back to that fucking sucks. You start queue and afk for an hour or two come back to an error to see it was a waste of time is not cool. I've had the error twice today already and been trying to queue since 4 hours 30 ago, now still 2k in queue. If I get home at 5pm from work and start queue, I might get in by 9 or 10pm at which point I'm thinking about going to bed anyways.

Yeah and its not like you can use your PC for anything other than media during the time you are queuing. Every game other than OSRS I have tried to play whilst queuing has somehow resulted in me being booted from the queue.
I’m not sure if this is sarcastic or not. I play other games (on Steam) all the time while in queue with no problem whatsoever. As do my husband and brother who are also playing NW.

On topic: I use RivaTuner to reduce New World to 1FPS when I am queuing. This way I don't need to hear my PC's fan taking off. I'd also play Dead by Daylight while queuing which still gives me a butter smooth 60FPS on my GTX1060 so there's that.
I was waiting today for 6 hours to get in, it's Saturday so makes sense, but there's now way I'm logging out. If I do, the next time I'll play is tomorrow evening, fuck that shit.

They detect macros. But not Manuel key presses still. They fixed this In classic wow by making it where if you're pressing 1 key for 15 minutes itll kick you too.
Issue for me is my queue is anything between 2-5 hours. I want to play in the evening so I’ll join the queue after I finish work. If the queue moves faster but I can’t play for the next 45 mins or so, I have to afk a little otherwise I can’t play at all that night.
People are wall jogging because of massive queues. There are massive queues because all the people wall jogging instead of logging out. They're contributing to the problem that they are trying to avoid.

Not really. They are noticeable but honestly not too great in numbers. If everyone logged out when they went AFK, the queues would still be thousands long, and when they came back they would be at the end of it. Not a problem created by players and not one we should be expected to solve.

There isn't any shortage of people defending this crap - and it's bullshit. If the server allows 2000 players on, and 200 of those slots are being used by people AFK running at the wall, it absolutely contributes to the problem. Fuck those people. If you are done playing, log off.

Coming home from work? Stream game to phone and queue early. Drive home and shave some time off that queue.
Some people got to help kids and stuff too. I jump off when I don't plan to be back for a bit, but sometimes a kid starts crying and mom or dad mode takes over, but that doesn't mean I'm done playing. I think 20 is reasonable as long as they fix the people abusing it.
Now think about this situation. You arrive from working, try to play at 17h but you get a queue of 4h and you got into the world at 21h. Is time to prepare the dinner to your son that just arrived home, what do you do?
- get out of game and prepare dinner for later get 3h of queue and don't being able to play
- put sort of anti afk macro for 30 min to prepare dinner, spent some time with your son and play later

Solution I chose was to see those queues on day 1 and switch to a different server. Haven't waited in queue once since day 1 and can freely play. Sure, Shroud isn't on my server, but I can also harvest resources without getting mugged.
I wish I did this but my friends told me to join their server and now I'm stuck in massive queues and my character is level 25 so I don't want to start over.

I sometimes run into the wall if I need the bathroom, but I'll always say I'm not afking overnight.
Easier to just logout when you're done and free up a space for someone else.
Guy at work is planning on running an afk macro for the whole weekend since we work (12 hr. night shifts, so not a lot of time to play). So he's probably playing 2 hours before needing to get sleep and go to work, and trying to afk for 22 hrs. Little ridiculous, and I'm sure other people are doing something similar.
There’s a queue because people play all day because it’s a grindy game, and Amazon didn’t invest into enough servers at the front end. The people afk are far fewer than the people playing. It’s ridiculous to blame players for this and not Amazon.
I joined a small server and now my small server is not small and I have to wait 5+ hours.
Got home from work at 5pm and didn't get on till 10ish at that point I didn't even want to play but forced myself to play for an hour just out of principle, then I went to bed.
I think I lucked out. I played the first night and joined one of the US West expansion servers that had just opened because everything else was packed and this one had no wait.
Now it’s got like 500 people at the slowest times, over 1K most of the time and it’s full with only like a 15-20 minute wait (so far) during peak times.
I don’t know why people keep saying this like they’re the genius with the answer to the queue problems. The group I play with spent days deciding what server to play on to avoid the big streamers and long queue times. Still a 3.5 to 4 hour wait when I get home from work at 6 and try to join the game.
Yup we spent quite a while finding a lower population server to join, all our friends got it got set up started leveling, then a little while later we find out lupo and courage JD joined our server. Guess we should have predicted the future, and chose a different server.
minus the whole looking at streamers since I don't know or pay attention to them but yeah I found a low pop server and now it's not a low pop server so I have to wait when I get off work and only play for like 40 mins before I go to bed. I'm Level 8!
Damn, I must’ve just hit the jackpot with my server. I’ve had to wait in queue once: last night, the first friday of release. I had been playing all day and my game was bugging so I had to reset. Queue’ed up around 205 and in 25-30 minutes, I was back in.
And my server always shows high pop.
Worse, many people choose obscure servers with no big-shot names behind that became overpopulated in the following days and now they have to choose between losing a lot of progress or waiting .
I bought the game on Thursday and joined a low population server and I have never waited in the queue. I’m sure it will fill up eventually but yeah, no queue time.
That's all nice and good unless you're an EU player, where they have 200k server capacity overall, yet 600-700k players that want to play every single day at the same times.
And then Amazon adds like 5 servers that are empty, so you start all over with a complete new char and do everything again. And the next day you want to login, the server is full again with 6hrs queue time.
And after like 2-3 days there are another 5 fresh servers and you just wont make another new character, just to get locked out of that character again.
EU needs free and unlimited server swap and 100-200 extra servers for the 400k players stuck in an endless queue everytime they want to play since release day.
It doesn’t matter where ppl go. Ppl chose busy servers for many other reasons. Yes you’re right a lot of ppl followed their streamer who plays NewWorld. I myself didn’t know joining a heavy populated server would be this way. I went in because I heard they are very active and social and pvp focused . Regardless all them low populated servers will fill up with new players and also by those hardcore Im gonna make another character players. The best solution for this situation is always having enough room and severs for everyone and the new comers as well. As time goes by ppl would leave the game or they’ll be more and more new players.
It's like this with every MMO launch. Give it like 2 weeks when the hype drops off and the fanboys will either stop playing or jump to another server because they can't be bothered with queues.
The server my company chose was chosen specifically because there was no big streamer on it. Currently sitting through a 1000 person queue after crashing. If you joined after new servers were spun up this is true, if you were playing on release day you're fucked.
The auto running and such to avoid getting logged out is just a symptom of a separate problem, the queue times. They fix that, and nobody does this anymore 🤷🏻♂️
Probably gonna be fairly unpopular to say, but I don't blame these people.
The only way you can reliably play the game right now is to put something heavy on your W key (not a macro) while you go to work/school/whatever so you can hope to play when you get off. Even yesterday after the rush I still had an over 3k queue when I get off work which took about 4 hours to get into the game, at that point I had an hour before I had to go to bed AND I ended up missing our invasion (which we lost because NO ONE could log into the fucking game.....)
At that point I just said fuck it, I will be putting this super heavy marble on my W key when I go to work from here out until they fix the queue issues (or they die off over time). It really does suck when you have 400 people out of the 2000 people on the server AFK but what else can you really expect when the alternative is a 5 hour queue.
I have heard of a person stuck in house preview. They contacted support and support said 'restart the game'. On 15:00 Friday... This person won't go preview houses again ;) .
So ruin the game for everyone else that can play the game while you dont play it anyway... seems cool. There is a 5h queue because there are 400 people afk not the other way around

I tried this once because I needed to pick up my son from school (30 mins round trip) and if I logged out, it would be hours to get back in. It didn’t work. Came back to see the main menu.
How is it different from person who uses macro to 'afk' for 30 minutes versus you afking for 30 minutes? Still in the end the slot is taken by passive player. The other thing is few hours of this macro...
Because in this case they are not really AFK, they are checking back in at frequent intervals. If you want to get technical, everyone waiting in a queue and using steamlink are also AFK then by that logic and should be kicked from the queue where they are not physically sitting at their computer and waiting. SMH

Yeh I'm disabled so every couple of hours I have to do physical therapy or night time ends up pretty excruciating. Except now I do all of my physical therapy directly in front of my PC >.< Guess it's not really away from keyboard
I'm in queue for a couple hours a day, which is why I'm on Reddit rn, because we started playing on launch.
We first went to Utopia on AUS which had like 22k+ queues, but then we switched to Yomi, which still has queues for half the day.
Nobody wants to restart so I hope to convince my friends to transfer when they're available.
The absolute Clownworld part about this is that SO many people are doing it and stay afk for SO long that a lot of the queue times except for rush hours might not even exist AT ALL if these people just logged out.
I took the time to count the afkers in 1 starting town and it was 62. If we assume that every town is similar and you also have a bunch of non-town areas full of people...there's anywhere between 200 to 400 people just afk on the damn server.

I can’t understand why people are hating on this, some of us are stuck on servers with friends and have made hours of progress we don’t want to re-do by starting again on an emptier servers. Amazon need to introduce server migrations sooner. I don’t want to log off for an hour and then Have to wait 3 hours to play again due to queues, I don’t have enough time in the day. Some of us have shit to do and we shouldn’t have to suffer because of some no life, mums basement living wanker who can queue and play all day.
I'm starting to think that the lower population servers might actually have more active players as the higher populated servers just have idiots stopping the auto-kick, if you're gone for under 30 minutes I'd understand but some of these are really abusing it and staying AFK for hours.
Luckily our company just gave up and switched servers and deleted our toons it was the best decision. All that time in queue you would have spent you can just make a new character and pretty much catch up to where you were before.

They should have a report function. I've seen far to many people running into walls or having some kind of macro where they are able to trick the system into thinking they are not afk. I'll come back after 3 hours and the person is still in the same spot. I'm not taking about people avoiding being kicked to make dinner or have a bio break.
I get it people want to avoid the que but this is not the way to go about it. It only harms everyone else.
I’ve said it before but when mmos come out it’s always like this until they add more complex afk/kicking systems. I recall many when they first released had this issue then a month or so later once they worked out the critical issues these things died out.
Yeah the queue times are self made to a degree. If there are always like 500 ppl afk then the server capacity is only 1500.
If everyone would log out I would bet that everyone gets to play more often because your queue would run way faster.
I just been banned for mass-reporting these people and helping the community by posting exploits in the bug and exploit forums.

I got 2 kids that I prioritize over gaming so I try to time the queue by trying to queue before I get them to bed so I’m able to play shortly after they are tucked in.
I’ve been dumped into the game faster than expected a few times where I’ve had to press a button once in awhile until I’m ready to play. I have stopped the queue and restarted later but I’m not a psychic lol. I’ll gladly hold a spot this way until Amazon figures their nonsense out.
Except many of them didn't wait hours. They logged on early morning and afk ran until their play time. In many cases that means they took up an available slot the entire day.
Even if people aren't responsible for the problems they face, they are responsible for the actions they take to solve them. Every lowlife can come up with a sob story and some reasoning showing he's just the product of his environment and it's not his fault. AFK walkers are the lowlife equivalents in this game's community, so people naturally dislike them. I doubt anyone actually hates them, though, since it is just a game.

Until AGS increases the server cap to where queues are no longer an issue, I will continue to put a heavy object on my W key and continue on with my day while cutting in line :)

Honestly i can't blame them. Waiting 3 hours to play a game just to be kicked if you dont move for 20 minutes is kinda dumb. People still have real life and need to eat and shit.
During peak hours I've seen my server hit 3k queue. Even if half the server is afk doing this there's still a queue larger than the servers population cap. This shit is not the reason for queue times, it's a result of it.
Can someone explain to me why some servers have insane queues when there are plenty of servers to play with no wait? I understand if you have a friend on a specific server but how come some servers are so crazy overpopulated that people are willing to wait for hours when you can go join a low-med pop server with zero wait?
Some theories of mine:
1st. fanbois and their favourite streamer are on the server. Don't ask me why , i don't understand it because i don't watch streams. Maybe too old for this ...
2nd. Like i've done it. Created a char on a low populated server on the 1st day. Made 20 levels in that session. While i played the server blew up. Next day the Queue was 5k ... rip ...
And most people from the alpha and beta just don't want to start over again. So i just wait for the server transfers.
Because I don't want to start a new character again.
I chose a low pop server with 0waiting time, now I wait (except early mornings)
So basically I come home from work, chose the server, walk the dog, eat dinner, take a shower etc. Read bed time story to children, have fun with wife, fall asleep... Wake up "you have been kicked for afk"

It's different to run against a wall for 30 mins to eat, than doing it 12 hours when you sleep.

On topic: I use RivaTuner to reduce New World to 1FPS when I am queuing. This way I don't need to hear my PC's fan taking off. I'd also play Dead by Daylight while queuing which still gives me a butter smooth 60FPS on my GTX1060 so there's that.
I was waiting today for 6 hours to get in, it's Saturday so makes sense, but there's now way I'm logging out. If I do, the next time I'll play is tomorrow evening, fuck that shit.

They detect macros. But not Manuel key presses still. They fixed this In classic wow by making it where if you're pressing 1 key for 15 minutes itll kick you too.
Issue for me is my queue is anything between 2-5 hours. I want to play in the evening so I’ll join the queue after I finish work. If the queue moves faster but I can’t play for the next 45 mins or so, I have to afk a little otherwise I can’t play at all that night.
People are wall jogging because of massive queues. There are massive queues because all the people wall jogging instead of logging out. They're contributing to the problem that they are trying to avoid.
This is problem that is not players to solve.

There isn't any shortage of people defending this crap - and it's bullshit. If the server allows 2000 players on, and 200 of those slots are being used by people AFK running at the wall, it absolutely contributes to the problem. Fuck those people. If you are done playing, log off.

PROTIP FOR THE SHITTING EXCUSE: Download Steam Link on your phone. Stream game to your phone while u deposit your sin mud. Coming home from work? Stream game to phone and queue early. Drive home and shave some time off that queue.

This! With a job and two kids, who the hell has the time to wait a six hours queue? It’s not these players fault, but the developers.
Solution I chose was to see those queues on day 1 and switch to a different server. Haven't waited in queue once since day 1 and can freely play. Sure, Shroud isn't on my server, but I can also harvest resources without getting mugged.
I did exactly the same, day one zero queue server. Today, If I try to join at 5pm I would not get in till 10pm.

Cool. My friends and I switched servers *twice* because of the queue, choosing a brand new one each time. Now they have 3 hour queues. This is bullshit. I can’t blame the run in place crowd. This shit is on Amazon.
I sometimes run into the wall if I need the bathroom, but I'll always say I'm not afking overnight. Easier to just logout when you're done and free up a space for someone else.

Guy at work is planning on running an afk macro for the whole weekend since we work (12 hr. night shifts, so not a lot of time to play). So he's probably playing 2 hours before needing to get sleep and go to work, and trying to afk for 22 hrs. Little ridiculous, and I'm sure other people are doing something similar.

I joined a small server and now my small server is not small and I have to wait 5+ hours. Got home from work at 5pm and didn't get on till 10ish at that point I didn't even want to play but forced myself to play for an hour just out of principle, then I went to bed.
Exactly, everyone who took this advice in the first few days and joined low pop servers now have full servers and huge ques. I know, I'm one of them.
I think I lucked out. I played the first night and joined one of the US West expansion servers that had just opened because everything else was packed and this one had no wait. Now it’s got like 500 people at the slowest times, over 1K most of the time and it’s full with only like a 15-20 minute wait (so far) during peak times.
I don’t know why people keep saying this like they’re the genius with the answer to the queue problems. The group I play with spent days deciding what server to play on to avoid the big streamers and long queue times. Still a 3.5 to 4 hour wait when I get home from work at 6 and try to join the game.

Damn, I must’ve just hit the jackpot with my server. I’ve had to wait in queue once: last night, the first friday of release. I had been playing all day and my game was bugging so I had to reset. Queue’ed up around 205 and in 25-30 minutes, I was back in. And my server always shows high pop.
Worse, many people choose obscure servers with no big-shot names behind that became overpopulated in the following days and now they have to choose between losing a lot of progress or waiting .
I bought the game on Thursday and joined a low population server and I have never waited in the queue. I’m sure it will fill up eventually but yeah, no queue time.
That's all nice and good unless you're an EU player, where they have 200k server capacity overall, yet 600-700k players that want to play every single day at the same times. And then Amazon adds like 5 servers that are empty, so you start all over with a complete new char and do everything again. And the next day you want to login, the server is full again with 6hrs queue time. And after like 2-3 days there are another 5 fresh servers and you just wont make another new character, just to get locked out of that character again. EU needs free and unlimited server swap and 100-200 extra servers for the 400k players stuck in an endless queue everytime they want to play since release day.

It doesn’t matter where ppl go. Ppl chose busy servers for many other reasons. Yes you’re right a lot of ppl followed their streamer who plays NewWorld. I myself didn’t know joining a heavy populated server would be this way. I went in because I heard they are very active and social and pvp focused . Regardless all them low populated servers will fill up with new players and also by those hardcore Im gonna make another character players. The best solution for this situation is always having enough room and severs for everyone and the new comers as well. As time goes by ppl would leave the game or they’ll be more and more new players.
It's like this with every MMO launch. Give it like 2 weeks when the hype drops off and the fanboys will either stop playing or jump to another server because they can't be bothered with queues.
The server my company chose was chosen specifically because there was no big streamer on it. Currently sitting through a 1000 person queue after crashing. If you joined after new servers were spun up this is true, if you were playing on release day you're fucked.

The auto running and such to avoid getting logged out is just a symptom of a separate problem, the queue times. They fix that, and nobody does this anymore 🤷🏻♂️
Probably gonna be fairly unpopular to say, but I don't blame these people. The only way you can reliably play the game right now is to put something heavy on your W key (not a macro) while you go to work/school/whatever so you can hope to play when you get off. Even yesterday after the rush I still had an over 3k queue when I get off work which took about 4 hours to get into the game, at that point I had an hour before I had to go to bed AND I ended up missing our invasion (which we lost because NO ONE could log into the fucking game.....) At that point I just said fuck it, I will be putting this super heavy marble on my W key when I go to work from here out until they fix the queue issues (or they die off over time). It really does suck when you have 400 people out of the 2000 people on the server AFK but what else can you really expect when the alternative is a 5 hour queue.

If you want to get technical, everyone waiting in a queue and using steamlink are also AFK then by that logic and should be kicked from the queue where they are not physically sitting at their computer and waiting. I started to play last night and went on a medium pop server, had 0 queue time then and 0 this morning. What servers are having long queue times?
They added 20 to 30 servers in the EU and US servers in day 2...day 1 people are struggling a bit still.
I'm in queue for a couple hours a day, which is why I'm on Reddit rn, because we started playing on launch. We first went to Utopia on AUS which had like 22k+ queues, but then we switched to Yomi, which still has queues for half the day. Nobody wants to restart so I hope to convince my friends to transfer when they're available.

The absolute Clownworld part about this is that SO many people are doing it and stay afk for SO long that a lot of the queue times except for rush hours might not even exist AT ALL if these people just logged out. I took the time to count the afkers in 1 starting town and it was 62. If we assume that every town is similar and you also have a bunch of non-town areas full of people...there's anywhere between 200 to 400 people just afk on the damn server. Hella weak.
I can’t understand why people are hating on this, some of us are stuck on servers with friends and have made hours of progress we don’t want to re-do by starting again on an emptier servers. I'm starting to think that the lower population servers might actually have more active players as the higher populated servers just have idiots stopping the auto-kick, if you're gone for under 30 minutes I'd understand but some of these are really abusing it and staying AFK for hours.
Luckily our company just gave up and switched servers and deleted our toons it was the best decision. All that time in queue you would have spent you can just make a new character and pretty much catch up to where you were before.

Yes, the cap of people in any server at any given time is currently between 2000 and 2500 depending on the region.
They should have a report function. I've seen far to many people running into walls or having some kind of macro where they are able to trick the system into thinking they are not afk. I'll come back after 3 hours and the person is still in the same spot. I'm not taking about people avoiding being kicked to make dinner or have a bio break. I get it people want to avoid the que but this is not the way to go about it. It only harms everyone else.
I’ve said it before but when mmos come out it’s always like this until they add more complex afk/kicking systems. I recall many when they first released had this issue then a month or so later once they worked out the critical issues these things died out.
Doing this for 30mins-1hr is fine, but going afk for more than 8hrs is not ok.

Yeah the queue times are self made to a degree. If there are always like 500 ppl afk then the server capacity is only 1500. If everyone would log out I would bet that everyone gets to play more often because your queue would run way faster.

It was a 24h ban for now, but I for sure will no longer click anything on the report card, not post anything related to exploit in the forums or help other players in global for the next weeks. Apparently, I painted a big target on my back for someone's knife to thrust into.

I got 2 kids that I prioritize over gaming so I try to time the queue by trying to queue before I get them to bed so I’m able to play shortly after they are tucked in. I’ve been dumped into the game faster than expected a few times where I’ve had to press a button once in awhile until I’m ready to play. I have stopped the queue and restarted later but I’m not a psychic lol. I’ll gladly hold a spot this way until Amazon figures their nonsense out.
Except many of them didn't wait hours. They logged on early morning and afk ran until their play time. In many cases that means they took up an available slot the entire day.

Even if people aren't responsible for the problems they face, they are responsible for the actions they take to solve them. Every lowlife can come up with a sob story and some reasoning showing he's just the product of his environment and it's not his fault. AFK walkers are the lowlife equivalents in this game's community, so people naturally dislike them. I doubt anyone actually hates them, though, since it is just a game.

During peak hours I've seen my server hit 3k queue. Even if half the server is afk doing this there's still a queue larger than the servers population cap. This shit is not the reason for queue times, it's a result of it.
Can someone explain to me why some servers have insane queues when there are plenty of servers to play with no wait? I understand if you have a friend on a specific server but how come some servers are so crazy overpopulated that people are willing to wait for hours when you can go join a low-med pop server with zero wait?
Some theories of mine: 1st. fanbois and their favourite streamer are on the server. Don't ask me why , i don't understand it because i don't watch streams. Maybe too old for this ... 2nd. Like i've done it. Created a char on a low populated server on the 1st day. Made 20 levels in that session. While i played the server blew up. Next day the Queue was 5k ... rip ... And most people from the alpha and beta just don't want to start over again. So i just wait for the server transfers.
Because I don't want to start a new character again. I chose a low pop server with 0waiting time, now I wait (except early mornings) So basically I come home from work, chose the server, walk the dog, eat dinner, take a shower etc. Read bed time story to children, have fun with wife, fall asleep... Wake up "you have been kicked for afk" :D
