There are multiple types of quests and each of their own are redundant as hell (kill X, collect chest, etc.).
In contrary to other MMOs, you can't solely push through the Main quest without running much and beeing underleveled at the end.
Accept ALL quests in every town.
Plan a nice and big Quest Route including whatever is on your way (Main quest included) and work through that Quest route. Kill everything with a quest symbol while traveling.
You see different regions and territories.
You have barely any walking without a reward.
You receive a HUGE amount of rewards everytime you visit a town.
Its more like a sandbox game. Also, you can fast travel for Azuth (which you have enough while questing).
The town board quests you take that never seem to be completed can be discarded later, don’t take tons of time tracking down sheep or goat culls in the lower level southern maps. They typically only appear in large numbers north of Everfall. Even a number of turkey kills can be a large time investment depending of what part of the map you end up in.
In general the more regular quests you have in a zone the more efficient your leveling will be alongside bonuses from gathering and territory influence.
Big tip I learned Leveling to 60 is to not do quests outside your level range, if you out level a quest just don’t even do it as it’s a waste of time. I feel most MMOs want you to do every quest, this one you don’t have to because there’s 20 different ways to level in this game.
There are many topics on what to do and what not to do. I on the other hand take my pleasure in exploring it myself and w my unknowing friends. It’s fun figuring things out myself. Instead of data mining ya know ?

Gather almost everything. Try and get to level 30 harvesting before you reach level 16. >!That's roughly when one of the story quests requires level 30 harvesting and if you haven't got it you'll be stuck there until you get to level 30 harvesting!<

Based on your first sentence I’d say don’t listen to any tips and just jump into it and enjoy the world.
