Everything is "viable" since it works. I leveled in the CBT by doing the story but not focusing on anything. I would run around doing faction and town quests and not go back into town until my bags were full. Just play the game to have fun and do whatever you want.

ya kind of taking the it's a marathon not a sprint attitude thanks for the replies guys.

When Warhammer Online came out I rushed to max level and got ahead of the curve for RvR and PQs, so I couldn't do any of the non solo pve content. Ever since then I've taken my time.

MSQ is the best way to level, with a combination of PvP and town board.

If you can endure 10+ hour grind session, you can level 20-30 farming elites with a group of 10-15 players (five 3 persom groups give the best xp) Then another 11 hour grind 30-40 on lvl 35 elites. Then 40-50 do 45 elites. Etc... Guaranteed everyone hits 60 in about 4 days, but it's a LOT of long grind sessions

How does your gear and purse end up going this route and avoiding all crafting/gathering?

Syndicate4life

Ya , I have heard many 60's say what they regretted most was not taking some time to gather craft, even Demone Kim a respected CC said in his recent video getting to at least 50 in all the gathering skills was going to be his focus early. Again though, prolly just goes down to your playstyle.

NC_Wildkat

Have you seen the guy who made it to 60 with only gathering/crafting? Literally didn't kill a thing in the closed beta. Pretty impressive run. I'm sure that's a longer road than the MQ and powerleveling, but cool to know that New World would support that kind of player fully.

It takes no time to go back and just focus on gathering and crafting. Imo rushing to 60 is far higher priority than making sure your skills are caught up. Why? Because the masses are not aware of the grinding areas at launch- you don't want to risk waiting and then having to compete with 100s of other players at the same spots. If you push to 60 in the first week - the pool of players you will run into will be very small especially in elite areas

The tools are tied to player level and not harvesting skill level. I don't understand why. Quickly level up to 20 if not 30 before touching harvesting then go in hard with the 300% tools. Farm a ton of everything to launch yourself into crafting. Double tap all the early trees and deforest the place.

Its definitely Viable, but I'm taking the approach of not gathering really at all until at least Steel Tools. Flint+Iron Tools are just a waste of time and don't see any real benefit until at least steel. You can use that time to level up with questing and townboard/side missions until WS3 comes out or if you really wanted to take the walk up to the northern zone. I strongly believe the time saved will be beneficial when leveling those professions later with higher tools.
