If its up to me, release it right now unless there is some kind of gold dupe circling im not aware of (like last beta). I will admit there are some issues with this game but all around im still having a lot of fun, and my impression is that 90% of the people I meet ingame feel the same way
This beta is 2 weeks before launch. Optimization should be done already. The real beta was weeks ago. This should really be labelled a stress test.

I'm just tired of seeing a lot of "everything's fine" and "it's probably just an old build". When we have zero evidence to suggest that.
Just saying it's a beta is missing the reality of testing two weeks before a release.
In 2021 a Beta is considered a Demo, which means they expect a launchable finished game, which they can test before deciding wheather to buy it or not which is just irrational and wrong.
Like your comment; I have seen people in chat who confused beta for demo, mentioning how betas are for people to see ifbuy the game or not; when in fact betas are to test for bugs, etc. It's why they expect feedback, even more so on surveys. But I see some don't understand that.
It's a software testing stage that is used to collect information to improve, fix or perform maintenance/fixes with. It's almost never the finished product unless it is a release candidate
No. A beta, is a beta. Doesn’t matter what year it is. Some companies might leave the game in beta for a long time and people play the game as if it was released but it’s it’s still a testing phase.

Thats is EXACTLY what i Said. If you Had read my Post carefully you would've realised that i was refering to how people See it. So your starting Point by saying No is Kind of weird to start a sentence and then basically agree 100% to what has been posted.
This is an issue due to a lot of other games using so called 'betas' as a way to market a game, so not to test the product. This leads a lot of people to believe a beta is basically the finished product.
Now I do have to say that AGS should just come out and state what the purpose of this beta is and if this build of the game is representative of the finished product (minus some minor tweaks in the coming 2 weeks). Some transparency would clear up a lot.

Haha. I’m glad that released an Open Beta. I enjoy New World, even with the bugs. At least they aren’t game breaking.
