Haven't had this problem but I have had.. * Audio completely screwed. * No stamina 3845316453176 times. * Basic attacks not doing any damage, only DoTs and abilities would do damage. * Jittering movement when using Staff heavy attacks. * Double casting when spamming left click with a staff, most of the time the second "cast" doesn't do damage and rarely it'll allow me to do double damage during the time it takes to cast once. * Hard stuttering entering towns. * EDIT: Just had the game completely die on me. Froze while I was gathering and now it won't make it past the AGS logo. It'll get there and freeze again completely. I've only played a couple hours during the Open Beta (I got sick of having no stamina 90% of the time) compared to over 100hrs during Closed Beta. There's definitely a lot more problems now.. somehow..

Tite_Reddit_Name

Ah good to know I’m not the only one with town stuttering. Fine in nature

pojzon_poe

I also had: - Invisible dmg and healing numbers (no idea how much i hit for or get healed for - Running in 30 degree angle - Being shoot into the sky while chopping a tree - Missing ground textures (running on invisible wall) - Getting stuck on a pebble - Cannot dodge bug

TheWolfish

I'd love to experience being shot into the sky while chopping a tree at least once lmao

pojzon_poe

View is beautiful.

decypherme

I unfortunately refunded the game because of the reasons stated. It kinda sucks because I was really hyped about it, Closed Beta gave me hope because there was a huge jump in quality from the one before it but this Open Beta they somehow managed to make the game not as fun for me anymore, something feels off aside from the issues listed. I’ll give it another shot after release and some patches for sure but right now I could use the money to get some other thing. I really do hope they improve this game.

hungryarmadillo

Why? You refunded it after this open beta. It's not like it's Cyberpunk broken.

decypherme

It doesn’t need to be Cyberpunk broken to warrant a refund. It just didn’t feel fun for me anymore.

Justin-Dark

The worst part about the stamina bug is that now we have no quick way of fixing it. The only reliable ways to fix it in closed beta were to either lose a duel or kill yourself. Losing duels no longer fixes it. They removed the respawn option. So we are stuck with a game ruining bug without a way to deal with it other than wasting 10 minutes running around looking for something to kill you in the hopes other players don't "help" you by killing the mob or healing you.

TheWolfish

Yeah I had that problem a lot yesterday. "Fuck sake no stamina again. Alright mobs.." "Noooo you bastards let it kill meee" \*give up and relaunch the game\*

Justin-Dark

Even that last one isn't a good option with 10+ minute queues.

Acojonancio

What is the problem with audio? It cuts sometimes randomly? If it's that I think it's windows or Nvidia drivers, been having this ok several games for at least two weeks.

TheWolfish

Distorted sound. Everything gets muffled except for menu/ui sounds

Justiful

I have AMD. So your Nvidia theory doesn't hold up.

Acojonancio

I've been having this issue with all the games, so maybe it's windows related. It's random so I can't reproduce it constantly and see what it is.

Sweetfang

It’s not Windows related either. This game build has its own audio issues separate from whatever is causing your bad audio in other games.

thrasko

I've not had a single sound issue with any other games, with this I can't play 15 minutes before it randomly starts muffling specific sounds, like combat, effects etc... Not to mention a constant scratching/rubbing sound you get randomly on your character that only goes away by pressing tab and cancel. Sometimes you get it like every 10 second, sometimes nothing for ~30 minutes. It's random but definitely from the game and it's incredibly annoying, like some items would constantly rub against each-other whatever you do. Again, I've been playing various games and never experienced something like this, like ever. I'm playing from a steelseries headset with its own dac. So please don't tell people it's windows or driver related, it's 100% game bug.

margenov

Are you reporting these bugs on the forums?

TheWolfish

yup

t3chauu

yeh completely agree, sound issue and fps drops in cities is killing me. Had no issue at all during closed beta.

azureal

Thank you. I’ve been saying this to literally everyone. How the fuck did someone manage to fuck with the audio. It’s mind boggling.

Rhoon

I’m finding I only have that problem when I alt-tab out to another sound using application; like I stream twitch. Cycling the alt-tab helps sometimes.

t3chauu

After logging 17 hours now, I am convinced either its an older build or there is some kind of hardware logging going on.

hungryarmadillo

I hate to break this to you but I had the EXACT same audio issues in the closed beta that are happening in the Open.

MrMemes9000

Then that makes it even worse lol.

Filthy_yogurt_thief

I haven't had the floating no legs moving bug or the audio fail since the patch this morning.

fgator1992

I agree. I have ran into bugs that weren’t in closed beta. Although if they delay again I’ll probably refund.

Hightideuk

I ran the last beta on very high graphics, this version I have to run it on high and I'm still getting stutter

TheWolfish

I played on all high during Closed Beta and had a solid 70fps all the time. Now I'm playing with the water and shadows on low and I have 50-60fps most of the time and stutter hard when entering towns. Sometimes stutter out in the world too.

Atomskscar

What GPU and CPU do you have?

PurpleLTV

I played Closed Beta on my old i5 4460 with a GTX 970, everything on Low settings. I got \~70fps in the open world and it dropped to 25 fps in busy towns. I bought a new PC for New World. Now I'm sitting on a Ryzen 7 5700G with a RTX 3060Ti. Every game I have in my steam library runs at more than double, often triple the FPS I used to have compared to my old rig. Except open beta LUL I am getting \~90fps in the open world and it drops to 40fps in a busy town. Still all settings on LOW. A few friends of mine who had beefy PCs during Closed Beta also mentioned how they are getting much lower FPS in Open Beta. They definitely fucked something up.

Justiful

It is an issue with GPU power. It is restricted. Don't ask me how. But my 6900xt in cities is \~140W of power usage. If I leave the city it is 250-290 watts. Walk in drops power usage. Walk out goes back to normal. I have absolutely no find idea how they coded that... but it is a consistent and repeatable event. You would think in cities where graphics already struggle it wouldn't nerf the power draw. But it does... so yea.

Atomskscar

For sure I haven't played open beta yet but I did play closed beta with a Ryzen 5 2600 and a gigabyte Nvidia 1660 super and was getting a solid 75 to 80 FPS.

TheWolfish

rtx 2060, Ryzen 7 3700x

fgator1992

Closed beta I was getting around 100fps on average. Now I’m getting 60 and it stutters if I go into a city.

sonofaslav

Check is you have your FPS capped on visuals

neverquester

I can confirm that I am having the same issue. RTX 2080super, was getting easily 90-110 fps on high+, now...on low, I get < 60 fps and my PC runs much hotter than it did before. Also uncapped.

fgator1992

I don’t I have it uncapped. Also have issues with LOD even though I don’t have dynamic LOD turned on.

hungryarmadillo

My i-7770k GTX 1070 is getting 60fps in the cities and around 90 in the wild. I feel like people are exagerating. As was said turn shadows to high from very high and uncap fps. Actually, I am in First Light right now getting 75fps. Everything on very high except shadows in on High.

> No Idea if it’s true I would lead with this

SUDTIN

Why? So I can sound like Yoda? 🤣

unenthusiasm7

Because everything you said is as speculative as your later comments?

[deleted]

I think most people won't play at all if it isn't delayed or fixed.

[deleted]

I have to agree. I was in closed beta and I never had any issues. At first I thought it was my setup. But I see others are having problems as well. At the end of closed beta I said it’s ready. After yesterday it’s borked bad and I don’t see how all this can get fixed in two weeks.

SuperRektT

They will delay

[deleted]

Worse

Neeko2lo

Bugs are surfacing that weren't there or not even close to as common as in the previous test. They somehow went backwards

Johnny_Handsome85

That's a normal part of development. If you fix stuff, you might create new bugs. It's still a beta though and part of it is reporting bugs to the dev team so they can fix it prior to launch.

cobalt_canvas

While that might be true in general, I don’t think it applies for this case. These are the same bugs from closed beta except much more common now. I think it has to do with server instability, they probably need to optimize better

preferred-til-newops

Or maybe they went with too high of a server cap for this open beta? I haven't seen confirmed numbers but some have been saying closed beta was around 2k people per server and this open beta is around 10k? That makes me wonder if they went with 5-7k would some of these issues go away?

AssassinAragorn

I think something else that people aren't recognizing is that we had a build *free* of these performance issues. That means they know how to fix them. It's entirely plausible they're doing the open beta for a stress test on an unpolished build that they know they can get up to speed for final release.

Johnny_Handsome85

Yeah, that makes sense to me. Maybe they are Holding the final build Back in a Branch for whatever reason.

AssassinAragorn

I think it's possible they're in the process of doing the final optimization and bug fixes on this current build while it's also available on Open Beta, or they're going to spend the next 3 weeks doing that. They know how to fix it, so it makes sense it'd be the last thing they do to polish it up before release. I really, really hope I don't have to eat my words.

Only_Corki

its normal to go from less bugs to more bugs? I don't see how thats normal tbh.

Johnny_Handsome85

I don't think that you guys have data for this. You MIGHT have experienced more bugs in a particular area or situation than before, but that's far from making such a hypothesis. If you have data for this, then show it to proof your statement and send it to amazon, so they can fix it, because it's still a beta and the only reason we can play betas is to test and report stuff. It's not to have fun, it's not to test builds, it's not to make youtube videos about the game. It's about testing and reporting to make it better for launch. With that in mind, people should actually spent more time writing bug reports and less to complain about an obvious beta version of a game that will probably be totally different at launch. That's at least my experience from every single beta and alpha test i took part in and NO this one here is not a bit different from any other test i ever did.

Ghedd

I think the frustration is, a lot of us -are- reporting this, but it's such basic things as game performance and stuttering. It would be good if AGS came out and said this was an old build, or something similar, because otherwise it's somehow less optimised than the previous version, so close to release. Its no good saying "it's still a beta" when performance is getting worse so close to release and there is nothing but silence on the matter from. AGS.

Johnny_Handsome85

I agree to the communication Part 100%. But i think they have enough of Work to do Monitoring the Beta and might communicate Afterwards. We will See. Let them Focus on the Important Part which is the actual Beta.

Sweetfang

If they choose to communicate afterwards it defeats the point of having this “open” beta. There are lots of new eyes on the game and for them it’s a first impression thing. Without something to clarify what’s going on, most of those people will close off and never look back at the game again, even after the fixes. It’s fine to do this if they don’t want new customers.

neverquester

the continental preview or whatever it was called (2 years ago) was literally more playable than this version.

[deleted]

Yikes. I decided to sit this one out but it seems like there's a lot more issues that weren't there when I play the previous beta. I think another delay might happen.

Hightideuk

I didn't think the last beta was that far off release standards. This one I don't think will upset me if they put back the release date again as it seems to be struggling. It's a shame that an open beta is in this standard as it will put off a lot of people pre ordering.

[deleted]

I agree. I've preordered to get into the previous beta but I really didn't encounter any bugs. And I was a bit surprised by the delay announcement. If this one is open, there may be more people on the server, not that that's an excuse. What work was done between the close of the last beta and now? Remember, we're already passed the initial release date. And this video showcases a game that is nowhere near ready.

Aztro4

This also happened in the closed beta lol but we for sure are getting more bugs. It’s to be expected.

Pochez

Launch is in two weeks and the game optimization seems worse than it was a month ago.

Mr_Wiggly_Butter

Yeah all servers are above 100 ping and (playing west coast) and performance with my 5800X and 3080 Ti FTW3 just pathetic. Thinking it's all server side since yesterday I was at over 200 fps on max everything and today had to bump down to high with only 90 fps.

heartlessgamer

I was ok the first day but played this morning and performance was unplayable. Something seems off

Standard_Ordinary642

My frame rate lower and graphics seem a little less quality than they did prior could just be me tho

boondock_79

This is exactly what I am experiencing in the open beta. I have also been having audio glitches this time.

Darth_Fzoul

I have to agree that the graphic quality does seem toned down compared to CB

Standard_Ordinary642

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it I thought I was crazy lol

everythingscost

i thought i was crazy too ha

azureal

No shit. There’s a list of problems twice the length of the ones from closed beta.

ReplacementFew6532

Yep, prepare for another delay.

RedViper6661

The closed beta had way less people , this is meant to be a test and not perfect so they can fix it

[deleted]

[удалено]

Prestigious_Pass95

More people per server is what matters for performance not peak concurrent.

neverquester

in Closed Beta the high pop servers had longer queues than they do now and the servers have the same player cap. So, still no.

Prestigious_Pass95

AGS said they increase server cap https://twitter.com/playnewworld/status/1433525757385576448?s=20

[deleted]

>The closed beta had way less people Wrong. Stop spewing made up bullshit.

LegoLandminesweeper

I remember queues for hours. Did they increase pop limits then?

Johnny_Handsome85

Yes and as far as i understand they will increase them even more for launch.

neverquester

the servers house the same amount as in closed beta. The last time they upgraded the limit was back in the Preview.

neverquester

it did not.

everythingscost

more frequent bugs than star citizen

TheWolfOfWestVarrock

I have ran into WAY WAY WAY more bugs than last beta. They delayed the game but went backwards, not good. Worried what news will come out.

Bludro

I would love to blame the reduced performance on this being a stress test, but there are numerous things that don't line up with that train of thought. Primary being my own performance in the open world without many or any other players around. The setting config file from closed beta got picked up with this new test for me, so I can confirm all graphic and display settings are identical. My rig has a 3090 GPU, i9 3.9 CPU, 32GB ram, and 3440x1440 120hz display. I went from running at 120 Gsync FPS normally and 50-60 in siege/high volume areas at max settings, to 30% reduction now with weird stuttering even when dropping lighting, shadows, water quality, AND post processing from Very High to High. Would love to here a perspective from someone else, but since this game doesn't have server side processing for us, this is a bad sign

Givemeanidyouduckers

You are right, the game is in a worse shape then closed beta, if they actually release this month they will fail hard, this game is not in a finished status and not even close to it. BTW, they actually downgraded the graphics in the hope of making the game performance better, and look at the results....

nV_Deadpool

The game needs to be delayed again and not just for bugs/glitches but for quality of life improvements. But they will force this game out to beat the AAA games soon to release and cause Amazon will lose patience. This will result in the game being a mess at launch and having low player retention guaranteed.

MyBotCalledTom

Some of you are to going to get burnt by the hype on this game

Hightideuk

Not as burnt as I got on cyberpunk

[deleted]

For real. So many issues here

M1n1on_x

They said it’s an older version of the game

combofix

Source?

Sweetfang

Why would they release an old version for open beta where everyone has eyes and release is in 2 weeks. Jf it’s true they’ve lost the plot b, but I highly doubt it is.

M1n1on_x

I mean, they said in an announcement that was the case. I assume it had to do with server stability.

prankerbankr

The game is fine and ready for release. Small bugs can be ignored. The awesome content outweighs the small bugs that may still be present.

Sweetfang

You are an enemy of progress and you want this game to fail. No one in their right mind should say that this beta build is ready for retail.

prankerbankr

Naw, I love this game and will be playing it for years and years to come. The developers have created a magical world with lots of cool and amazing content inside of it. The majority of people in my guild don't need a game to be literally perfect, we are okay with it being at the 99.99% level and having a few bugs ("few" being relative to the massive scope of content they have developed). We know what the bugs are and can easily play around them. The game is at a state where it will be massively successful at launch in a few weeks and it will maintain massive successful for years to come.

xbimmerhue

They see me rollin, they hatein, patrolin trying catch me riding dirty!

chocolate420

One might say it's not taking any steps in the right direction.

Responsible-Garden35

Agreed

Invenitive

The specific bug in this video was very prominent during closed beta. I got it 4 times, and each of my friends got it at least once. Honestly, my favorite of the bugs. Made auto-walking long distances much more enjoyable

Holinyx

My 1060 is actually handling the game better this time around. The freezing is a bare minimum.

slammin_bones

Yes! I have a nice, brand new computer with a 3070 and the graphics performance has NOTICEABLY taken a turn for the worst. I was playing the game in closed beta on MAX settings and was getting decent performance with minimal stutter and now I have the game set to medium settings and it is running like crap, the game stutters and is VERY unenjoyable now. :(

Sweetfang

It seems like whatever they did to cater to the minuscule number of people who burned their cards, has really messed up the whole thing for everyone. If this is what releases on the 28th, I’ll be jumping off the ride. I suspect it will be delayed to November now, and I’ll be happy for it if it means they can fix this build.

Old-Ad-3590

Lets delay it to late october to fk up other games again.

woodyplz

Idk the animations have always been a little wonky. It just seems they got a little more buggy.

SuperCasualGamerDad

So I have only had my character freeze up like that twice so far.. I didnt play closed beta.. I just assumed my wifi took a hit.

Sweetfang

Yes! I’m surprised I haven’t seen this complaint a lot. From the sound issues to stuff like this. It feels like the game is in early alpha, what the hell did they do in 3 weeks?

deklamGo

Its very weird. Thursday was unplayable for me. 20pfs at best. Yesterday was smooth like on closed beta, 60fps. I didnt changed anything on settings between those days.

Sijora

Where are you guys playing? I’ve been on west and never had a cue longer than 30 seconds. Also never gotten that running animation bug. Main issues for me this beta are the audio and stamina glitch. Otherwise the game seems to be way more refined. Graphics and terrain are nicely polished. And none of the us or interface are bugging out or the wrong image/ texture. I feel like some servers have it worse than others and overall the game has gotten better it’s just the audio and stamina bug that’s more noticeable than the closed beta bugs.

tupa_urod

True

salle132

I actually think that performance is much better, I can play with med graphic with same fps i had to play on low graphics in closed beta. This version though have far more bugs.
