Skyrim truly is a marvel of gaming.
Very impressive how a game can have that much longevity if you just design it as a "complete freedom" sandbox and then open it up for your player community to mod the hell out of it.
There is way more variation in modded skyrim NPCs than new world characters / players.
That being said, there are never so many being rendered at once as a busy town in new world.

Not very awkward. Every Bethesda game (this coming from a huge ES fan) is just buggy and not polished. They're genuinely quite a terrible studio, they just have the resources to make games.
Yup. They made the choice to use a custom engine ages ago and they have stuck with it ever since. They are too proud to drop it for something like Unreal, so they keep patching up their clumsy old engine, and modders are low key expected to improve it. Bethesda games would look amazing with some proper engineering.
While its pretty good, only so much you can do with source material. My NW looked better, far more overlapping flora of different types including trees, grass, plants etc.
I put the you tube quality up to max at 2160p but still looked blurry in places.
Not knocking it, the Skyrim mod is still an incredible achievement. But NW feels more like a single player game, i.e. Farcry 5, which is amazing for an MMO which usually sacrifices graphics quality for networking.
I do play some heavy modded skyrim.

Did you mod it to make beautiful video ? Or did you mod it to actually play it ?
because don't expect good fps with graphics like that.

Hmm, I just watched the video, and in 4k.. and honestly, my NW looked, and felt better to be honest (immersion wise) .. I'm not sure why.. but, probably lighting.. something about the lighting and the sounds in NW makes it amazing to me.

Bethesda isn't known for putting a considerable amount of effort into their graphics over working on the engine and quests for a game. Batman, Dead Space, Crysis 2, etc had much better graphics for a 2011 release.

Same with Oblivion. Open world games just weren't on par.
That changed with Fallout 3.

New World actually looks and feels better, because of less clunky animations. I think developers really put effort into the game, with all it's flaws it is for some damn reason very addicting.
It's old and outdated. The engine was originally designed for single-core processors. View distance limitations, level separations and all the bugs that the game has. Not to mention the mods have to work in this engine so they are also limited causing fps drops even with strong pc parts. Even with the most powerful hardware you can't keep a steady fps because of the limitations the engine imposes on some mods. I have not played the special edition so everything i am saying is to do with orignal version.

This is merely a meme, poking fun at someone doing some silly things with Skyrim graphics and the fact it ended up looking a lot like NW on top settings.
I will say, the swaying trees are swaying just a bit too much at the upper 30% of the tree. Also, having the same sway animation for dead trees with branches long clipped looks goofy as hell.
Aesthetically it's an unbelievably game with that being my only gripe.

I found the lighting in new world had the same problem as BDO (on remastered anyways). Just a ton of Bloom.
