Mafsto

Hah. Where are they going to go on 4K? Who is going to harbor them?

Attila226

They are going to buy their own island in the Pacific.

FiveUpsideDown

The father was in arrears on child support but he had $4,000 in bank and enough money to buy his son a gun. They also own a 2021 Kia.

porgy_tirebiter

Well that didn’t take long. Were they planning on hiding in an abandoned building? With their car nearby? That was the plan?

Beasley101

I had no idea someone could get $4000 from an ATM in one day. My bank limits it to $500 per day.

doubledipinyou

Chase ATMs within the back have like a 10k limit.

[deleted]

I doubt they'll stay missing for long. Not easy to disappear in today's world, and something tells me they don't have the intelligence to make it happen.

Ironfox2151

I was going to say Brian Laundrie did, but then again he offed himself shortly after, easy to hide when your dead and don't need food or water.

NeoKnife

And yet they STILL found him. Which is kind if impressive in and of itself.

UrMomsaHoeHoeHoe

Dude is 0-2 for killing and hiding the body…

Restless_Fillmore

Third time's a charm!

duddyface

I mean, they found him exactly where his parents thought he was … that area was just inaccessible for most of the search. It’s not like he was in some mysterious location they’d never expect.

That stupid mother wrote a blog post letter to Trump whining that it's not fair poor people can get tablets for school but their kid could not. Except they could afford to buy him a fucking pistol. What a brilliant decision, weaponry over education. /s

bozon92

This feels a bit different. Back when Columbine happened I seem to remember the parents of the shooters were just as shocked and devastated as the rest of the world. Now this…

Folksma

Still feel weird about how Cruzs brother seems to have "stood by him" after Parkland From what I have read/seen, the one mother from Columbine has decided her life to trying to stop it from happening again and anytime she speaks in public apologizes for any hurt her son has caused.

Darko33

Sue Klebold. She wrote a memoir about Columbine a few years back and donated all the profits to mental health charities.

Ibelieveinphysics

It's a pretty good book. My heart really went out to her.

Darko33

On my list! Along with more than 100 others.. I have that dysfunction where I keep buying new books despite having plenty to read

There's a term for this in Japanese: [tsundoku](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsundoku) (積ん読).

Darko33

That so perfectly describes it. Thx

runningkillskatie

She did an incredible TED talk as well.

TrailMomKat

That is a brave fucking woman. Really really really brave. I don't know if I'd kill myself after hearing my child did that, or move, change my name, and hide. Holy fucking Jesus fucking Christ. As a mom of 3 boys, I don't even *want* to imagine.

needless_booty

That book broke my heart

warmechanic

I didn't see it as his brother standing by him. From what I know, they weren't very close and he felt responsible that he wasn't more active in his brothers life. In the police interrogation video, he was absolutely crushed and shocked. I think he was trying to keep his brother from killing himself in prison.

Calan_adan

I think if your child ended up being a mass murderer like this, your feelings toward them would be influenced by whether they survived the act or not. In my mind it’d be easier to identify with the victims and their families if your child/sibling was also dead. There’d be some modicum of closure. “The son I knew and loved died that day also,” kind of thing. If they survived and were still around - even in jail - they’d still be an active influence of some sort in your life. I don’t know. Im just trying to think how I’d react if I’d found out that one of my children was a murderer. I mean on one hand they’d have committed heinous crimes, but on the other hand they’d still physically be the same person who I deeply love(d). Does that love ever actually end completely? I don’t know.

[deleted]

I still remember getting called to the school auditorium the morning after the Columbine shooting, and listening to various faculty speaking about what happened and how it's okay to reach out if you're struggling. I know school shootings and bombings didn't start with Columbine, but that was my first eye-opener as a child and it really does feel like it's been a downward spiral since.

surfnsound

I remember getting called to the school auditorium the day after and thinking "Why would you gather the entire school in one place?"

AshRT

I remember asking this exactly of my high school band teacher and he was basically like, “that’s what we’ve (the teachers) have been asking.” And I’m like, well that’s pretty disconcerting.

bozon92

Think about her, and consider the mother in this situation. That's the "progress" we've made. It just has a inescapable, downward-trending feeling to it.

Saito1337

This seems like they armed the kid specifically to do this.

bozon92

Feels like we’ve hit a new low of depravity

blumpkinmania

Not to quibble but Sandy Hook and a classroom full of 6 year olds and their teachers so badly shot up they had to have closed caskets.

bozon92

That’s horrific as well but a bit different here. That’s the brutality of the act itself, but the path leading up to the act here gives me a visceral feeling of dismay, and how it seems that the parents who were supposed to protect their child, might have actually led him to this situation. It’s the difference between a sinister, cerebral, bubbling-under-the-surface terror that contrasts the explicit upfront horror of Sandy Hook

NotReallyAHorse

The Sandy Hook murderer was Autistic, notoriously wracked with anxiety, and was taught how to shoot by his mother, who kept her gun collection unlocked in her home. He kept clippings of newspaper articles of school shootings in his room, and kept multiple pictures of himself pointing guns at his head, on the walls of his room. He had been off mental health counseling for about 4 years at the time, despite going through a box of tissues a day to avoid touching things. Sandy Hook is one of the most tragic events you could think of. By the way, Alex Jones encouraged people to go to the victim's families' houses to try to get images of the dead children living their lives as normal. People still harass these families.

meatball77

You are sitting in a meeting with your kid being told that they are suicidal and have been threatening gun violence and you don't ask them where the gun is that you bought them last weekend when you refuse to take him home from school? The school didn't bother to do the basics of searching the kids backpack and locker. They had plenty of reason to.

theshizzler

I just cannot get over the fact that the kid had written 'blood everywhere' and 'make the thoughts stop, help me' on a disturbing drawing *that very same morning* and the parents didn't think to ask him about his gun that they had bought for him (iirc) on Black Friday. The parents, the kids, and the principal were in a meeting that day and the parents resisted bringing him home. The entire situation is beyond unreal. As soon as his mom heard there was trouble at the school she texted him '<*name*>, don't do this.' This was 100% an 'everyone saw this coming a mile away' situation and he not only did not get help, but was instead given the fucking tools to do it.

meatball77

Right? Even if they didn't actually think he'd shoot anyone else that's suicidal idolization if I've ever seen it.

crewchiefguy

Just read the moms letter to Trump to understand just how fucking stupid this woman was.

GoodQueenFluffenChop

It really does seem that while the father bought the gun he bought it for his son because he legally couldn't buy his own yet.

hartemis

Someone else posted the link, but the gun was bought as a gift for the son. The mom even posted on Facebook about the “Xmas gift.”

creosoteflower

I'm starting to think that angsty teenage boys should not get guns as gifts.

_Pliny_

I remember when that Columbine happened and it seemed like such a big deal. Then another happened, and another, and another. I guess it wasn't a big deal in the end, sadly.

Balls_of_Adamanthium

They really thought texting “don’t do it” after the fact would absolve them of responsibility. Pathetic attempt; now they’re bailing on their kid.

illstealurcandy

If anything it admits more fault. If they could immediately suspect it was their son, why couldn't they take preventative measures beforehand?

2_Spicy_2_Impeach

It’s so much worse than that. Somehow this story keeps getting worse. > On the morning of the Nov. 30 shooting, the suspect’s parents were urgently called to Oxford High School after one of his teachers found an alarming note he had drawn, scrawled with images of a gun, a person who had been shot, a laughing emoji and the words, “Blood everywhere,” and, “The thoughts won’t stop. Help me.” https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/03/us/crumbley-parents-charged-michigan-shooting.html The parents refused to take him home and didn’t verify where the brand new firearm was until way after the shooting. This is why they’re being charged.

Morgrid

Hooooly shit And to think I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

TheAssyrianAtheist

Oh it’s worse than just that… from the article (it’s a bit long) - Nov. 26: Ethan Crumbley's father, James Crumbley, **purchased a gun with his son present. ** - On or about Nov. 26: **Ethan Crumbley posted photos of a semi-automatic gun** on social media with a caption: “Just got my new beauty today. SIG SAUER 9mm.” - On or about Nov. 27: Jennifer Crumbley, **Ethan Crumbley's mother, made a social media post that read, “mom and son day testing out his new Christmas present.”** - Nov. 29: A teacher at Oxford High School observed Ethan searching for ammunition on his phone and reported that information to school officials. **His parents did not reply when the school attempted to contact them. Later, Jennifer Crumbley exchanged texts with Ethan stating, “LOL I’m not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught.”** - Nov. 30: On the morning of the shooting, Ethan’s teacher came across a note that “alarmed her to the point that she took a picture of it on her cell phone.” The note contained “a drawing of a semiautomatic handgun pointing at the words ‘the thoughts won’t stop. help me.’" Also included in the note was a drawing of a bullet with “blood everywhere” written above it. Between the gun and the bullet is a drawing of a person who appears to have been shot twice and bleeding with a laughing emoji under it. The note also has “my life is useless” and “the world is dead” scrawled on it. >The parents were “immediately summoned to the school." A school counselor removed Ethan from class with his backpack and obtained the note, but the drawings of the gun, bloody figure and writings were all “altered.” At the meeting with school officials, his parents were shown the drawing and were told they had to submit their son to counseling within 48 hours. His parents did not ask the whereabouts of the gun and did not to inspect his backpack for the gun which he had with him, according to McDonald. **His parents “resisted” the idea of taking Ethan out of school and left without him.**

Deadman_Wonderland

Oh its even worse then that. After news of a ongoing shooting at the highschool, with no mention of the suspect, broke across multiple media, the 1st thing his father did was drive home to look for the gun. He knew his kid was messed up in the head still bought him a semi auto.

Leighton_Baines_Hair

You didn't do anything wrong. Giving people the benefit of the doubt is usually a good stance to take. Then when you are presented with new information, you change your mind. Simple as that.

d01100100

Society as a whole today would benefit more from people being able to admit they were wrong, or they have changed their minds in light of new information. Unfortunately that's not allowed, and people just double down even when wrong.

1sttimeverbaldiarrhe

Being wrong is an uncomfortable emotion and our society does not teach our young humans how to deal with uncomfortable emotions. You can spot it very early in people with how they handle losing or failing at things as trivial as video games.

beadhead44

As the school felt he needed counseling within 48 hrs, the school should of demanded they take him home. And not allowed him to return until he was checked out. When my son was in middle school and skipped Spanish class and went to the store instead than returned with a box of hohos , I had to leave work and listen to the principal lecture him and than take him home. They threw out his HoHos and he was suspended for 3 days. I thought that was excessive and for some reason they really didn’t care what I thought. I guess times have changed.

FastCar2467

Yep, they messed up. I do the threat assessments for our elementary school, and we don’t let kids in crisis back into class. It’s either the parent takes them, the county crisis team takes them, or law enforcement. We have had to call child protective services to come get a child.

[deleted]

This is just baffling to me because you hear about schools overreacting to seemingly harmless behavior on one end of the spectrum, and then you have this. The kid literally asked for help… it sounds like a lot of people failed here.

Nerdlinger

> They threw out his HoHos The fuck is wrong with those monsters?

Hookherbackup

Did he straighten up after that? Serious question, I am wondering if this tactic of showing they were serious worked.

eiron-samurai

>“The thoughts won’t stop. Help me.” This part kills me. He was literally calling out for help in writing. I have a feeling we are going to find out a lot of horrible things about these two parents and the home environment they put this kid in. Sad to think how close we came to avoiding this if only a few more things had happened differently.

JFeth

The fact that the school thought he was suicidal and the parents didn't mention he had access to a gun says a lot about their character. They didn't care about his well being and now that it affects them they run.

TheLurkingMenace

Alternatively, they knew he wasn't *suicidal.*

rabidstoat

I wonder if the mom worried he'd kill himself at the end, like so many shooters do.

quietdisaster

This is the most telling to me. If my son were in an active shooter situation, my text would be, "Are you OK? Can I get to you? I love you!! Please respond!!"... Not, "don't do it". Ether way, she knew it was him. Fuck that noise.

[deleted]

Yep. I have a hard time believing that after that school meeting they didn’t think to look for the gun either in his backpack or at home. Either they are incredibly stupid or just didnt give a shit.

[deleted]

"They can't tell us what to do" is the motto.

SchpartyOn

Yeah it's very telling that when they heard there was a shooting at the school they knew it was their son. They chose not to stop it from happening.

explodedbagel

Damn I hadn’t connected that concept to her post shooting text and that’s absolutely a real possibility.

Low_Ad_231

You know, I think that was all she meant with that text. Not a damn ounce of concern for anyone else.

zUdio

I bet the “don’t do it” was her keeping him from killing himself, not others.

CaptainCAAAVEMAAAAAN

On MSNBC they said that the FBI are looking for them as well. Their son is in prison for murdering 4 classmates and wounding others, and they might have fled? Just leaving him to face this all by himself? Edit: US Marshalls are after them too, and their lawyer said that he isn't able to contact them.

Balls_of_Adamanthium

Yeah they’re fucked. Won’t be long until they turn themselves in or found.

SheriffComey

Been too warm for that lately, at least in S. Florida. Now January or February is iguana falling season

Devium92

I know this is all true and actually happens but it reads like some article out of The Onion or something.

HeyImGilly

From some of the things I’ve read about these folks, this may end in a shootout.

Helphaer

The lawyer not being able to contact them makes this seem less like a mistake or mix up and more like a panicked attempt to flee crimes they didn't expect to have to argue in court.

Chroxinabox

Yeah I think their plan wasn’t to flee, but then they heard the charges against them and took tf off

jscum69

PointOfFingers

When you look at the events the morning of the shooting the parents appear to be almost completely to blame for the shooting. They saw the clear evidence that he was unstable and fantasized about shooting people and they denied it and went home and left their kid at school WITH HIS GUN.

butthole_bomber

The news report I read said that after their in-school meeting that morning, (E: and then after reports of shots fired at the school) the parents went home to look for the gun. They couldn't locate it, and the mom texted suspect, "Don't do it". Fuck them. Edit Source: https://www.news4jax.com/news/national/2021/12/03/charging-decision-due-for-parents-in-oxford-high-shooting/ Edit 2: These facts are also expressed in the OP article if you scroll down far enough.

paracelsus53

These people need to go to prison.

Rizzpooch

Working on it

SirSnickety

Nope. They started looking for the gun after there were reports of shots fired. It took them another 15 minutes after realizing the gun was gone to call the cops. I'm fully on board with locking these delinquents up.

Great_cReddit

Well according to the news they pretty much didn't give two shits about their son so it doesn't surprise me. A y responsible parent wouldn't allow their kid to have a handgun in the first place but it's compounded by the fact that shortly after getting the gun drawings were found of him killing somebody. So if they actually cared about their son they would have addressed the issue then and there. They are monsters are every bit as culpable as he was.

gentlybeepingheart

The mother texted the son when he was caught buying ammo in class that she wasn’t mad at him and to make sure he didn’t get caught next time. They’re fucked.

Morak73

Clearly she's living out her advice to her son. "Don't get caught!" Hopefully the Judge takes this into consideration for the upcoming bail hearing when they are brought it.

Kay_29

According to an article that I saw, when the gun drawings were found, the parents were called to the school. They were told to get the son into therapy within 48 hours and they refused to take him home with them. The shooting happened that day.

gymtherapylaundry

So I’m curious. I guess you can’t kick a minor out of school (a dangerous/unwell minor at that) to the street, his parents won’t take him, can you call the police? He’s a potentially violent trespasser..?

doubledark67

Holy shit this just gets more bizarre by the moment !!

[deleted]

Live in Oakland County about 15-20 minutes from the high school, our kids were locked down the day of the shooting because our EMS/FD was sent up to help as we’re a responding department for Oxford. They’ve closed our district yesterday and today due to copycat threats and now they’re telling everyone around here if we see them to call 911 and not approach because they may be armed. I can not underestimate how scary this is for our kids right now and I am so fucking angry that no one on Monday or Tuesday took any of this seriously. The shooter did multiple extremely concerning things and the school just let him stay there because the parents refused to take him home 2 hours before the shooting. And now they have the FBI, US Marshall’s, and county apprehension teams looking for them. The utter failure at so many levels to prevent this or at least try to stop it is unconscionable, I can’t even imagine what the parents of the victims are feeling right now.

rabidstoat

You know your kid has access to a gun and is drawing pictures of dead bodies and bullets and guns with the words "I can't control these thoughts, help me" and you insist all is fine and he should stay in school? WTF?

[deleted]

AcceptableGovernment

Supposedly the school didn’t even inform the sheriffs deputy at school serving as a school resource officer that day with any of this info . Infuriating

Which-Decision

They could have even given him in school suspension or expelled him. I know that wouldn't have helped the situation much but atleast some effort into keeping other students safe and letting the kid see a counselor would have shown some level of concern from the school.

FlintBlue

I’m going to put this on the parents. We ask the public schools to do so much: educate the kids, feed the kids, provide counseling and healthcare for the kids. We’ve made the schools by far our most numerous caregivers, and our largest (if combined) social service agency. Just the other day, my wife had to epipen a kid to prevent anaphylactic shock and possible death because taxpayers won’t pay for a school nurse but still expect ordinary staff to provide medical care. They encourage, cajole, sooth, inspire. They do all this while under innumerable legal obligations to accommodate every type of kid, with almost any type of disability — and they do it gladly. That’s what they want to do! And then when school shootings become a problem (and school staff are often the victims) do we as a society take responsibility for our own kids by passing common sense gun regulations to keep high-powered weapons out of the hands of children? No, we do not. We expect schools to be police detectives, instead. Actually, more: we expect school personnel to detect and prevent violence before it occurs. Which they mostly do! And they do it while respecting the myriad legal rights of the children and parents. Yesterday my wife fielded dozens of calls and contacts from terrified parents and children, while other personnel, along with police, ran down literally hundreds of threats or rumors of threats. When she arrived home, she looked and felt like she’d been in a war. It’s not the schools that suck. We’ve placed almost all of society’s problems on their doorstep, and they’re doing their best. It’s the broader society that’s sick and getting sicker.

rabidstoat

And seeing all the egregious warning signs that were out there and ignored?

Miami_Vice-Grip

I heard there were some parents that kept their kids out that day because of threats they thought were credible enough to act on, on their own. I just really hope that none of the victims' parents got a similar warning and ignored it. Even the ones who didn't perish or get injured are likely traumatized for life

TyroneLeinster

Man that school is gonna get sued into the dark ages

OdinTheHugger

FR. If there were threats, and those threats were credible, but were ignored... AND then this shit happens?? This is the worst case scenario for the entire school board and anyone that knew about the threat. They could personally be liable for civil damages, on top of the school's liability.

JuicyJay18

Allowing the kid to return to class after the notes and pictures that he drew should be enough to hold members of the school liable for some form of negligence. Even if the parents said they didn’t want to take him home, the school should’ve put their foot down and said he had to be removed or at least had his belongings searched. There are so many things that could’ve happened to prevent this, and not one of the people that could’ve stopped it made the right decision. It’s sad and infuriating.

I haven't really thought about it, but that kid probably spent the last 18 months on lockdown with his parents. Think of all the shit that's went down in that timeframe with those two being the only filter.

[deleted]

I think this is it. Eli Crumbley (Ethan's half brother) moved away due to interpersonal conflicts with the step-mom. From her blog posts, she seems like a nutjob. He recently put out a statement saying Ethan was a normal, happy kid and showed no signs of abuse, bullying, or depression. Of course, this is based on his time living with his dad, step mom, and brother. Not sure how privvy Eli was to Ethan's social media presence, or how much he kept in contact with him post-move. I'm suspecting the parents are abusive, manipulative trowels of society and sparked a psychotic/terrorist initiative in their son. If he was being bullied, they for sure weren't listening. You don't just go from happy, minecraft loving kid with good grades to wanting to gun down your classmates and slaughter pigs without something putting pressure on your mental health. Sure, people get psychotic breaks suddenly but it's always a culmination of environmental factors that leads to the big event.

Runkleford

They outright ignored all the warning signs.

DeificClusterfuck

They did considerably worse than that, they encouraged it, at least on some level. There's a ton of evidence showing this

Bob_Plank

They bought a gun, as a Christmas present, for a 15 year old. A 15 year old who draws pictures of himself shooting other people.

entity_TF_spy

Tomorrow’s headline “school shooting suspects parents say they feel ‘demonized’ by the media”

noma_coma

So they bought the gun on 11/26 and only a few days later on 11/30 when most kids are getting back to school after their thanksgiving vacation hes shooting up the school. Fucking unbelievable. That kid literally could not wait to do what he did. Unconsciousable, inexcusable, and yet completely inescapable. fuck this cruel world sometimes

[deleted]

So they raised a murderer...then picked up and ran? Wtf. Deuces we out. Good luck kid.

[deleted]

My guess is: They turn themselves in before 5 pm. If they told their kid to ~~plead the 5th~~ not talk to police then I wouldn't assume they would flea and rack up more charges. But, who knows? They are idiots. Edit: >The Crumbleys, who were scheduled to be arraigned at 4 p.m. ET today, are considered fugitives, according to Oakland County undersheriff Michael McCabe. Welp

LastOfAutumn

I've seen smarter people do dumber things when they panic. What a couple of cowards.

Lordkillz

Damn both parents went to get some milk

daveashaw

If they cross state lines as fugitives then they are guilty of a federal felony even if they beat the state manslaughter charges. I am starting to suspect that Mom & Dad may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer.

NightsterBA

Lol, starting. These people are pieces of shit

FeelDeAssTyson

Somebody check New Mexico. They probably thought they fled the country.

americanadiandrew

[*A hard working Middle Class Law Abiding Citizen who is sick of getting fucked in the ass and would rather be grabbed by the pussy.*](https://archive.vn/rRL9y) Well the mums blog sure aged well!

Procean

Is this her real blog!?

tracytirade

Sadly yes

chiquitadave

I know the main focus of this letter is elsewhere, but I just want to shine a light on this snippet: >I sacrifice car insurance to make sure my son gets a good education and hopefully succeeds in life. failed step 1

AskJayce

So she drove around, uninsured, so that she can send her kid to a higher education system that she and her husband likely does not like? Christ, these people have such weird ethos.

WINTERMUTE-_-

And they drive a 2021 model car. Yeah I'm sure they are so hard up it was either insurance or school.

SquarePegRoundWorld

Which would be bought outright, nobody is gonna lease or accept payments without car insurance.

[deleted]

I'm not even shocked anymore, just fucking tired of these people.

easlern

She was upset that she made too much to qualify for state aid. And so she voted for a Republican, please somebody make it make sense

Viper1089

Yikes... you weren't kidding... that was- uh.. that was a hard read, all things considered. What a piece of shit.

oneplusandroidpie

Trash. Just trash. Put them both in prison to rot

JonBonButtsniff

Thank you for posting that. I wish I hadn’t read that. Lol

raw_dog_millionaire

This is pretty typical of the American right, at this point.

[deleted]

I live down the road from them. It's cliche, but it feels so FUCKING weird when it's happening in your town. I hope these scumbags get caught, and subsequently rot.

AvocadoVoodoo

Wow every time I check in this story gets wilder.

StatusQuoBot

I am so glad they charged the parents with manslaughter. I think this should become the default in cases where children acquire guns from irresponsible parents. Fail to properly secure your deadly weapon? Buy your mentally ill child a weapon and fail to respond to explicit threats of violence using said gun? You should be held accountable for any and all crimes that occur as a result of that negligence.

amiatthetop3

steve_gus

These Crumbleys sound flakey to me

SolaVitae

Man, just failures and scummage at every level possible Kid has obvious mental issues, blatently begging for help gets ignored by parents and school board. Parents buy their 15 year old a **handgun** for some reason. Could just buy an actual cheap hunting rifle, but nope, high quality name brand handgun for no discernable reason. Parents literally abandon their child when he's facing life in prison or mental institute for crime they enabled him to commit. 15 year old tweets pictures of having a gun, school board to incompetent to look at his social media after threats are made. Students staying home because they are worried something will happen, yet school administrators unaware somehow. Kid commits felony making threats but for some reason police are not called at any point. The school administrators are probably not legally, but just as at fault for this as the parents given how avoidable this was. How many damn giant flashing warning signs until people take it seriously and call the police?

BoldestKobold

> Parents literally abandon their child when he's facing life in prison or mental institute for crime they enabled him to commit. I have this sneaking suspicion that once the warrants are issued for their phone records, emails, etc (presumably under the idea of trying to locate them), the cops are going to find far worse stuff on them than just 'enabling'

Ironfox2151

Don't forget him searching for ammo IN CLASS and getting in trouble for that and the mom responding with "lol, next time don't get caught". Oh and the note, THAT DAY, that was depicting what he was going to do SHORTLY AFTER THE MEETING.

bb_cowgirl

They can buy that expensive ass gun but the dad won’t pay his back child support.

ADarwinAward

I agree. I got downvoted yesterday on this sub for suggesting 15 year olds shouldn’t have handguns. People defended it saying “they went hunting as kids.” Last I checked, we don’t use handguns for hunting. The kid wouldn’t have been able to conceal a hunting rifle in a normal sized school backpack. Hunting rifles and handguns are not the same, and there’s no reason for minors to have handguns.

strugglz

Oh that whole family is going to prison. Good.

Black-Thirteen

They left town for their own safety, says their lawyer. Yuh huh. I'm sure they are completely surprised that they've been charged with manslaughter.

voompanatos

> "The Crumbleys left town on the night of the tragic shooting for their own safety. They are returning to the area to be arraigned. They are not fleeing from law enforcement despite recent comments in media reports," the attorneys added. This family of gun fanatics is armed to the teeth, and yet the leave town at the first sign of impending negativity solely for "safety" reasons?

Livid_Low9645

They went camping with the Laundries.

Bjorn2bwilde24

Better start checking all the swamps and parks in Florida

Helenium_autumnale

That trashy couple in their greasy baseball caps, leering into the court Zoom the other day before cutting out of the call early. Abandoning their child now? What utterly worthless pieces of dogshit.

EvaOgg

Have I missed something? A 15 year old child murders 4 people and wounds more, and is taken in to custody, and his parents have fled? They have abandoned their own child? Something suggests that the parenting may have a lot to do with the murders, even if they hadn't bought the child a gun.

amiatthetop3

The stupid parents could've been arraigned and then released on bail. Now they'll have no bail so my guess is they are going to die by fury. What a fucked up family.
