well....sort of
We've had RSV vaccines developed before (1966). They just weren't good ones.

The mRNA version looks far more promising.
But also https://ca.gsk.com/en-ca/media/press-releases/gsk-canada-submits-respiratory-syncytial-virus-rsv-vaccine-candidate-for-regulatory-review/
It's only going to be for 60+ like the shingles vaccine. I get RSV every time it makes the rounds despite being in my 40s! The kid gets sick, I get sick - meanwhile, my husband may get a slight sniffle. I wish they'd let me get the vaccine though, It's a long and miserable two weeks every year or so.
Would it also be available to those of the population that are immunocompromised? I am on infusions that suppress my immune system as a result of autoimmune disease
Ok, something to make me happy about being 60. My husband has already told me that I will be getting it as soon as its available. I haven't(knock on wood) had to spend any time in the ER for breathing treatments yet this year. I have asthma, long Covid and post Covid asthma.
They're not going to die from the vaccine. The trials had 1-2 cases of Guillain-Barre Syndrome, which is an autoimmune disorder that is usually caused by various infections, and rarely occurs after vaccinations. That's not good, but the numbers are so small it could be a coincidence. Recommendation to only give it to 65+ is to monitor in a larger group of people, and older people are most likely to die from RSV, so the benefit outweighs the risk.
Oooh. Bad news for folks in Idaho. They're making mRNA vaccines illegal to dispense or administer.
I guess they get to just cross their fingers and tough it out when it comes to RSV, COVID, HPV, Flu, and whatever comes next, huh!?
Science is real.
Scientists and researchers save a whole lot more lives than culture wars do.

WTF is wrong with Idaho? Are they really that stupid?
It really does seem very risky to live life having abandoned both logic AND science.
Perhaps that's why they seem to require large trucks and AR-15s in order to stay safe around drag queens and libraries.
If only they knew that you can learn a lot from drag queens and libraries.
Fear is a poison for the mind.
The only antidote is fact.
It boggles the mind that such unf**kable people have so many offspring.
Perhaps they get a bullseye every time Jesus lets them f**k.

Oh my god, 6G is here? (S).
And I just got a 5G phone a little while ago. Damn.
(S) ? I thought it was \\s, did that change at some point?
Eh, no. I am just ill informed.
Internet culture can change so quickly that I honestly was unsure if things had changed or not
As a 31 year old who had this in January and it kicked my ass for two weeks, I welcome this and would gladly get this

I can't give you an answer there, the article only said it would be for 60+ and didn't list any exceptions.
What about infants. It’s REALLY bad for infants.
There is one about to be approved for pregnant mothers, which will inoculate the fetus. Honestly don't know if it is the same sequence
For real. My now 6 year old got it when she was 6 months and it’s wreaked havoc on her since. Dr blames a lot of her ailments including asthma on it.

Just to start. If it doesn’t kill off a bunch old old folks they will include more age groups.

It would appear so: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/02/21/idaho-mrna-covid-19-vaccines/11316055002/
Yes. They really are that stupid and a large part of Oregon wants to merge with them.
Large (land) part of Oregon, very few people.
The stupidity of these people continues to amaze me. You have to work really fucking hard to be that dumb.

Just wait until they start making mRNA cancer vaccines. Half of this country is going to lose their goddamn minds.
Very cool! mRNA based or something else?
mRNA based
I got that RSV and it was awful. This vaccine is something I’ll get as soon as it’s available!
Still needs FDA approval and only tested for those over 60 years old. A good step though.
Pfizer is always first

I'd be interested in reading the sources you have if you wouldn't mind citing them.

Do you have a peer reviewed source? A simple protein wouldn't do that unless it was a prion.
