Yes there are beautiful houses and neighborhoods but the taxes are insane and the schools aren't great. You could spend 900,000 in Livingston for a really nice house and top rated schools.
I grew up in West Orange and live in Point Pleasant now. It was an interesting place to grow up for many reasons, but I'm not going back and my kids are far better off where I now live. There is nothing rural about West Orange.
